Dragon Con guest list is firing up with fresh & familiar faces

Dragon Con is on its way again this Aug. 30-Sept 2, and the line up is looking very hot.

According to a recent article by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the event will attract upwards of 57,000 voracious fans in the peachy city. But new faces as well as familiar ones will be present as with anniversary celebrations that include the 50th anniversary of Doctor Who, the 30th of Fraggle Rock and the 20th of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.

One of the big stars to return this year will be Captain Kirk himself, William Shatner. He’ll be joined by first timer at the con, Lee Majors (The Six Million Dollar Man) and his bionic lady love, Lindsey Wagner. Avery Brooks (“Benjamin Sisko” from Star Trek: Deep Space Nine); The “Incredible” Lou Ferrigno; Kathy Najimy; “Oh Myyy!” George Takei; and Billy Dee Williams will also be huge draws for fans.

These veteran celebs will get to mingle with stars from newer shows that include Game of Thrones (Natalia Tena), True Blood (Kristin Bauer, Lauren Bowles and Jim Parrac), Arrow (Stephen Amell, Seth Gabel and Kelly Hu), Torchwood (John Barrowman, Eve Myles, Burn Gorman), Spartacus (Liam McIntyre and Manu Bennett), and The Walking Dead (Michael Rooker, Steven Yeun).

Other first timers to the con will be Amy Acker (Angel), Noel Clarke and Peter Davison (both of Doctor Who), Terry Farrell (Star Trek: Deep Space Nine), Burn Gorman (Torchwood), Allison Mack (Smallville), and Adrian Paul (Highlander). On the paranormal front you'll find Josh Gates and Erin Ryder of Destination Truth, as well as Dave Tango and Steve Gonsalves of Ghost Hunters.

Some other guests who grace our television include; Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman of MythBusters; Richard Dean Anderson (Stargate SG-1); and Mitch Pileggi (The X-Files).

Big screen stars include: Doug Bradley (Hellraiser), Malcolm McDowell (A Clockwork Orange), Graham McTavish (The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey), Edward James Olmos (Battlestar Galactica) and Julian Sands (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo).

Musicians, artists, and authors will be a big presence as well. But we want to know if you’ll be attending! Let us know who you’re most excited to meet and if you’ll be engaging in some cool cosplay.
