'Argento's Dracula 3D' Trailer Hits

The trailer for Italian horror director Dario Argento's "Argento's Dracula 3D" has hit, and it is ... well, cheesy.

Starring Thomas Kretschmann, Asia Argento, Marta Gastini and Rutger Hauer (as Van Helsing, fresh off his vampire-hunting fae role on "True Blood"), the movie premiered in 2012 at the Cannes Film Festival and is now making its way stateside. This take on the vampire count changes quite a bit about the Bram Stoker story, but adds in 3D. Actually, it looks like bad 3D, along with hammy dialogue. Then again, that might be why the movie was roundly trashed in reviews (including "The Hollywood Reporter," which cited "craptastic CGI").

OK, so even if it's cheesy, I'll have a look when "Argento's Dracula 3D" when it hits theaters and VOD on Oct. 4. Why? Maybe because I want to remember the good old giallo days of Argento and "Suspiria." And there looks to be lots of gore and '80s style horror movie sex in it. Plus, it's Halloween season, and that's a time when "scary" cheesy treats are best consumed.

Check out the trailer and see for yourself whether Argento can count on your viewing.
