'World War Z' Sequel Has its Writer

Were you aware that a "World War Z" sequel was in the works? Well, it certainly is, and thanks to an exclusive over at Variety, we now know who will pen the zombie film. Their sources have confirmed that Oscar-nominated writer, Steven Knight will write the sequel and J.A. Bayona ('The Impossible') will direct. Brad Pitt not only will return in the starring role, but he'll also produce with Jeremy Kleiner and Dede Gardner for Plan B.

The film's sequel has no plot or projected release date yet but they reported that it is expected to "continue the story of Max Brooks’ popular novel." Despite the issues with production, "World War Z" went on to gross over $540 million worldwide; Pitt's highest grossing film of his long career.

We'll keep you up-to-date on any more news and, of course, pics and trailers that become available. What do you think of the plans for a Z-quel? Excited or not so much?
