'Insidious' trailer opens door to hell (and new franchise?)

The official trailer for Saw director James Wan's Insidious was unleashed on the Internets, and it actually looks pretty good. Starring Watchmen's Patrick Wilson, X-Men: First Class' Rose Byrne and Black Swan's Barbara Hershey, the suspense/horror follows a family haunted by interlopers from a demonic phantom zone who eventually recruit some paranormal investigators for assistance.

So sayeth the synopsis:

Insidious is the terrifying story of a family who shortly after moving discover that dark spirits have possessed their home and that their son has inexplicably fallen into a coma. Trying to escape the haunting and save their son, they move again only to discover that it was not their house that was haunted.
Not only does the trailer suggest the flick, which opens April 1, has the right balance between spooky and mega-freakout shocks, it also likely opens the door for a brand new horror franchise ala Saw.
