Chiller TV unveils upcoming original programming

The Chiller network announced today a few upcoming goodies to make unlucky number '13 - 2013 that is - seem a little more fortunate for horror fans.

A slew that includes a two new "Chiller 13" countdown specials, a new original movie and an anthology film (a first for the network), the releases will build on a year of programming that included strong ratings with Adults 25-54 and the coveted 18-34 demo.

Here's the breakdown, according to the press release:

The Monkey's Paw
After Jake Tilton acquires a mystical "monkey's paw" talisman that grants its possessor three wishes, he finds his world turned upside down after his first two wishes result in his malevolent coworker, Tony Cobb, being resurrected from the dead. When Cobb pressures Jake into using the final wish to reunite Cobb with his son, his intimidation quickly escalates into relentless murder – forcing Jake to outwit his psychotic friend and save his remaining loved ones.

The Monkey’s Paw stars CJ Thomason (Harper’s Island) as Jake, Stephen Lang (Avatar) as Cobb, Michelle Pierce (Days of Our Lives) as Olivia, Tauvia Dawn (Level 26: Dark Prophecy) as Abby, Corbin Bleu (High School Musical) as Catfish and Charles S. Dutton (Legion) as Detective Margolis.

The Monkey’s Paw is adapted from the renowned short story by W.W. Jacobs. The film is written by Macon Blair and directed by Brett Simmons. Ross Otterman will produce for TMP Films, LLC. The Monkey’s Paw will air on Chiller in 2013.

Chilling Visions: 5 Senses of Fear
For its first-ever original anthology film, Chiller teams with six up-and-coming filmmakers who will write and direct five short films based on the human senses:

Hearing: Jesse Holland and Andy Mitton (YellowBrickRoad),
Touch: Emily Hagins (My Sucky Teen Romance, featured in Zombie Girl: The Movie documentary)
Taste: Eric England (Madison County, Roadside)
Smell: Nick Everhart (2012 Doomsday)
Sight: Miko Hughes (Directorial Debut; Actor: Pet Semetary, New Nightmare, Steve Niles’ Remains)

5 Senses of Fear is produced by Andrew Gernhard, Zach O’Brien and Colin Theys for Synthetic Cinema International with an eye towards a 2013 premiere on Chiller.

Chiller 13 (Horror's Most Wanted, Most Horrifying Hook-Ups)
The network’s popular franchise is back! This December, masters of horror and comedy come together to count down the biggest, meanest and most outrageous villains to ever terrorize the big screen in Chiller 13: Horror’s Most Wanted. Then, celebrate Valentine’s Day 2013 with the premiere of Chiller 13: Most Horrifying Hook-Ups, counting down Hollywood’s most fatal attractions of all time. Chiller 13 is produced by Emmy Award-winning company Associated Television International.
