'Poltergeist' remake possesses a director

Well, it’s finally happening! At one point, Vadim Perelman (House of Sand and Fog) was slated to direct a remake of Tober Hooper's 1981 classic, but at the time, MGM began having money problems and then the project just seemed to fade away until it was shelved.

But the beast can’t stay on the shelf for too long. According to Dread Central, Monster House director Gil Kenan is officially on board to helm the Sam Raimi-produced remake about a family (Craig T. Nelson and Jobeth Williams) whose home becomes invaded with the paranormal (and whose daughter Caroline is sucked into the TV).

No official date has been set for principal photography, but rest assured we will let you know when "they’re heeeere!"
