'Game of Thrones' continues ratings conquest

If you’re a viewer of Game of Thrones, we don’t have to tell you this third season just keeps getting better, and the ratings are hard evidence.

The ratings for this past Sunday’s episode, "Kissed by Fire" (which is an homage to Ygritte’s flaming red locks) were up 8 percent from the previous episode. According to Entertainment Weekly, the 9 p.m. airing delivered 5.3 million viewers. This is a series high and obviously indicates a strong audience interest. The encore showing at 11 p.m. brought the viewership up to 5.9 million viewers.

Just to note: This now marks two of HBO’s paranormally-charged series -- the other being True Blood -- that are high ratings grabbers. The True Blood premiere last June garnered 5.2 million viewers.

With numbers like these, we’re sure HBO is doing a Happy Dance ... with Dragons!
