HBO GO unveils 'Game of Thrones' interactive viewing experience

Have you ever wanted to be a citizen of the Continent of Westeros? Are you an HBO subscriber and own an iPad?

Well this Sunday, April 1, you can experience the next best thing with the amazing new interactive viewing experience that is exclusive to the the HBO GO app for the iPad. According to an HBO press release, this new feature will provide “an even more immersive and exciting experience for audiences, giving them an elegant, intuitive was to explore the world of Westeros.”

This is excellent news because this is quite the complicated show. This experience will allow us to view bonus content, see behind the scenes interviews and commentaries with cast and crew and describe the many new characters as they appear in the episode. Also according to the press release, viewers will be able to receive “info alerts providing back stories on specific scenes and character relationships; quotes from the series that can be shared through social media; a map with key locations pinpointed; and, a guide to Game of Thrones houses.”

The HBO GO app is free with an HBO subscription and allows subscribers to not only engage with this feature on their iPad, but watch full episodes of the series. Game of Thrones, Season 2 premieres this Sunday at 9 p.m. ET/PT.

Great article! Can't wait to see the episode even though I wanted to read the books first. It's too bad the iPad app doesn't work with Comcast so I will have to settle for twitter.
