'The Awakening' trailer offers ghostly summer

Not to be confused with Kate Chopin's 1899 feminist book - which this writer had to read far too many times in high school and then again in college - The Awakening follows Florence Cathcart's mission to expose seances as shams after her fiancé dies. But when she heads to a boys’ boarding school, the ensuing investigation forces her to rethink her skepticism.

The Awakening opens Aug. 10 and stars Rebecca Hall (The Town, Iron Man 3), Dominic West (The Wire) and Imelda Staunton (Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix).
