Syfy Renews 'Face Off' For a Sixth Season

Syfy has just announced that their hit makeup competition series, “Face Off,” will be retuning for its sixth season this January. The announcement revealed that there will be 14 new artists and that it will be the program’s boldest season so far, “In the new season the contestants will face extreme challenges that will inspire them to create the most magnificent characters and creatures in Face Off history.”

Also, coming this November will be the two original “Face Off” specials called “Naked and Painted” and “Top 20 Countdown: Judges’ Favorites.”

Hosted by McKenzie Westmore, “Naked and Painted” will air on on November 12 at 9 p.m. and will explore the world of body painting. It will feature the industry’s top artists as well as expert input from former “Face Off” contestants.

On November 19 at 9 p.m., “Face Off” judges Glenn Hetrick, Ve Neill and Neville Page host “Top 20 Countdown: Judges’ Favorites” and take a look at the best designs from the past five seasons of the show. From the announcement, “In addition to ranking the top twenty best make-ups, they will call out some of the funniest, most surprising and impressively ambitious designs the show has ever seen.”

Season Five of “Face Off” is wrapping up and will end with the finale on Tuesday, November 5 at 9 p.m. The final three artists will “each create two lead characters from Swan Lake: a woman transforming into a swan and the sorcerer who casts the spell on her.  These finale makeups will be put to the test in an epic performance by the Los Angeles Ballet.”
