'10 Million Dollar Bigfoot Bounty' Debuts on Spike TV this January

One of the largest cash prizes in television history is on the line and it all depends on finding irrefutable proof of one thing…the existence of Bigfoot. Spike TV’s “10 Million Dollar Bigfoot Bounty” debuts on Friday, January 10 at 10 p.m. ET/PT. The expedition is hosted and lead by avid outdoorsman and former Superman, Dean Cain and features world respected scientist and researcher, Todd Disotell, Ph.D. and primatologist, Natalia Reagan.

In addition to the scientists, Spike has hand-selected the strongest competitors and have provided state-of-the-art equipment that will aid in their hunt for the elusive Sasquatch in the remote corners of the Pacific Northwest. The $10 million cash prize is underwritten by Lloyd’s of London.

From the press release:
“10 Million Dollar Bigfoot Bounty” is a unique competition series following nine determined teams comprised of lifelong Bigfoot hunters and big game hunters as they set out to capture Bigfoot himself or provide definitive visual and DNA proof of its existence.  The “squatchers” must ply their extensive research and presumed knowledge of the legendary creature to earn their place, all while battling nature’s inhospitable weather conditions, rough terrain and combative clashing personalities.

Each week, the teams engage in two challenges: a field test and a hunt in an active Bigfoot region to collect “incontrovertible DNA and visual evidence of Bigfoot.” The teams then present the evidence they’ve gathered to Cain, Disotell and Reagan. The release states, “DNA evidence will be processed utilizing Disotell’s state-of-the-art mobile DNA lab that can obtain DNA results in the most remote locations within a day – science that will forever alter the landscape of Bigfoot hunting.  In the case proof is not found, the team that presented the most compelling evidence and theory will be given a $100,000 research grant to continue their search.”
