DC's 'iZombie' Gets Pilot Order from the CW

A few months back there were whispers that DC Comics' "iZombie" was set to hit television screens, and now it has been announced that the CW has ordered a pilot. According to Deadline, Rob Thomas and Diane Ruggiero are reuniting after their success on "Veronica Mars" to co-write and executive produce the pilot.

Based off of the 2010 comic book series by Michael Allred and Chris Roberson, which was originally published by DC's Vertigo imprint,  "iZombie is a supernatural crime procedural that centers on a med student-turned-zombie who takes a job in the coroner’s office to gain access to the brains she must reluctantly eat to maintain her humanity. But with each brain she consumes, she inherits the corpse’s memories, and with the help of her medical examiner boss and a police detective, she solves homicide cases in order to quiet the disturbing voices in her head."

With the project in the early stages of development, there is no casting news as of yet. While a pilot has been ordered, there is also no guarantee that the network will order a full season, however the CW and DC seem to have had a pretty great run on past collaborations. Keep checking back for all the latest news!
