First Look at the CW's New Series, 'iZombie'

The new CW series, "iZombie," premieres on Tuesday, March 17 at 9 p.m. ET and now we have a first look at what we can expect from the adaptation of the Chris Roberson and Michael Allred-created DC comic book series.

Taken from its official Facebook page, the premise of the series reads as follows:

Olivia “Liv” Moore was a rosy-cheeked, disciplined, over-achieving medical resident who had her life path completely mapped out, until the night she attended a party that unexpectedly turned into a zombie feeding frenzy. Afterward, she had become part zombie and currently works at a coroner's office so she can eat brains so she can survive, which gave her a useful ability to get the memories from said brains to help solve homicide mysteries.

The series stars Rose McIver as Olivia "Liv" Moore; Robert Buckley as Major Lilywhite; Malcolm Goodwin as Clive Babinaux; David Anders as Blaine DeBeers; and, Rahul Kohli as Dr. Ravi Chakrabarti. Executive producers include: Rob Thomas ("Veronica Mars"); Diane Ruggiero; Dan Etheridge; and Danielle Stokdyk.

Comic-Con Debuts Season Three Trailer for 'Arrow'

Just because you're not at Comic-Con doesn't mean you can't reap its glorious rewards. For example, all the cool trailers that fans get to see during panels. Fans of the CW hit, "Arrow" were treated to a sneak peek of the third season and now you can partake in the coolness. The first look at the CW series just hit YouTube with the following note:

Excited fans at Comic-Con’s ARROW panel on Friday, July 25, 2014, got their first glimpse of the action-packed series’ third season, including views of Colton Haynes in the Arsenal costume, Brandon Routh as Ray Palmer and Karl Yune as Maseo.

The third season premieres on Wednesday, October 8 at 8 p.m. It's "little brother" "The Flash" will premiere its first season on Tuesday, October 7 at 8 p.m. ET.

The CW Announces Dates and Times for its Fall Programming

Thanks to a press release from the CW, we now know when some of our old, and soon to be new, favorites will be premiering this fall. The dates include when we'll finally see "The Flash" in action (even though the first episode leaked already...whoopsie!) as well as when "Arrow," "The Vampire Diaries" and "Supernatural" will return.

Here are all the details from the release (via Collider):

The CW Network will strategically roll-out its Fall 2014 launch this October with two highly anticipated new series, THE FLASH and JANE THE VIRGIN, joining returning favorites.

For the third year, The CW will kick off the new season with an exclusive telecast of the biggest concert of the year, the IHEARTRADIO MUSIC FESTIVAL, airing over two nights, Monday, September 29 (8:00-10:00pm ET) and Tuesday, September 30 (8:00-10:00pm ET).

Thursday, October 2, all-new seasons of bloody, sexy drama return with the season premiere of THE VAMPIRE DIARIES(8:00-9:00pm ET) followed by Mary, Queen of Scots continuing her REIGN(9:00-10:00pm ET).

THE ORIGINALS returns to wreak havoc on a new night, Monday, October 6 (8:00-9:00pm ET), followed by a special retrospective look back at the past nine seasons of SUPERNATURAL (9:00-10:00pm ET).

The most buzzed-about new series of the season, THE FLASH, starring Grant Gustin as the Fastest Man Alive, premieres Tuesday, October 7 (8:00-9:00pm ET), followed by the return of the Winchester brothers in the tenth season premiere of SUPERNATURAL(9:00-10:00pm ET).

Oliver Queen fights to protect Starling City in the third season premiere of ARROW, Wednesday, October 8 (8:00-9:00pm ET), followed by a special encore presentation of the series debut of THE FLASH(9:00-10:00pm ET).

The CW’s heartwarming new comedy JANE THE VIRGIN, starring Gina Rodriguez, premieres Monday, October 13 (9:00-10:00pm ET).

The critically-acclaimed adventure drama THE 100 returns Wednesday, October 22 (9:00-10:00pm ET).

John Wesley Shipp to Play Henry Allen in 'The Flash'

Back in February, we teased that John Wesley Shipp was cast in a mystery role in The CW's "The Flash" series and now we know what role he'll be playing. Executive producer of the "Arrow" spin-off, Greg Berlanti, revealed to The Hollywood Reporter that Shipp, who played Barry Allen in CBS's 1990s "Flash" series, will be playing the role of The Flash's (Grant Gustin) father, Henry Allen.

Henry Allen will appear in the premiere and will be recurring. Shipp's stint in the 1990-91 series was short-lived but Berlanti commented on the casting that, "Given his history with The Flash, Andrew [Kreisberg], Geoff [Johns] and I could only think of one person we wanted to play Barry's father and that was John Wesley Shipp. He gives a fantastic and emotional performance in the pilot and we are looking forward to his presence in many more episodes."

In addition to Shipp appearing in the premiere, Arrow himself, Stephen Amell, will make a cameo. The new superhero series "centers on Central City assistant police forensic investigator Barry Allen (Gustin) who visits Starling City to look into a series of unexplained robberies that may have a connection to a tragedy in his past. Through a freak accident, he is given the power of super speed that transforms him into the fastest man alive."

The show will air on The CW at 8 p.m. ET, Tuesdays this fall.

The CW Releases Extended Trailer for 'The Flash'

The CW just released over five minutes of amazing with its extended trailer for "The Flash." We have to wait until this fall for the premiere but this action and information-packed look should satisfy you...for now. Beginning with the origin story and ending with his meeting with Arrow, this trailer offers a look at the evolution of Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) into the fastest man on Earth.

'The Flash' Teaser Debuts During 'Arrow' Season Finale

Yesterday we teased that we'd be getting a better look at The Flash (Grant Gustin) during the season finale of "Arrow" and The CW paid off. Check out the clip they call "Don't Blink" where Arrow refers to the arrow catching Flash as a "show off." A full trailer for the "Arrow" spin-off nigh but for now, enjoy Barry Allen showing off his mad and zippy skills and his excitement over these talents, to Oliver (Stephen Amell). Nice first impression!

'Arrow' Season Finale Trailer Gives First Look at The Flash

The "Arrow" season finale airs Wednesday night on The CW at 8 p.m. ET and we have the trailer, titled "Unthinkable." But don't blink! At the very end, you can catch a glimpse of The Flash (Grant Gustin). It's really quick but, ya know, that's how he rolls. The end of the trailer promises an "exclusive first look at The Flash" so we're hoping they give us a little more.

It's obviously a perfect tie-in because Barry really digs "Arrow."

“Barry Allen is a Central City assistant police forensics investigator who arrives in Starling to look into a series of unexplained robberies that may have a connection to a tragedy in his past. A comic book fanboy, Barry is obsessed with the Arrow unaware that working with Oliver and Felicity to solve the crime has brought him right into the dangerous world of the vigilante.”

'Constantine,' 'The Flash' and 'iZombie' Have Been Officially Ordered to Series

The 2014-2015 television schedule has just gotten a little bit more nerdy, as Deadline and Newsarama have both reported that three new television series' have officially been ordered. Coming to the small screen will be "Constantine," "The Flash" and "iZombie." "Constantine" will be joining "Gotham" on FOX, while "The Flash" and "iZombie" will take up residence at The CW.

"Constantine" centers on John Constantine, an enigmatic and irreverent con man-turned-reluctant supernatural detective who is thrust into the role of defending us against dark forces from beyond. The pilot will be written by Daniel Cerone, who penned the original story with David S. Goyer.

"The Flash," a spin-off of the popular "Arrow," is based on characters by DC Comics and centers around scientist Barry Allen, who is given the power of super speed through a freak accident, which transforms him into the Fastest Man Alive. Grant Guston stars as Barry Allen, with DC Entertainment CCO Geoff Johns, Andrew Kreisberg and Greg Berlanti, also of "Arrow," executive producing the series.

"iZombie" is a supernatural crime procedural that centers on a med student-turned-zombie who takes a job in the coroner’s office to gain access to the brains she must reluctantly eat to maintain her humanity. But with each brain she consumes, she inherits the corpse’s memories, and with the help of her medical examiner boss and a police detective, she solves homicide cases in order to quiet the disturbing voices in her head. Based off of the 2010 DC Vertigo Imprint comic by Michael Allred and Chris Roberson, the show will star Rose McIver as main character Liv.

Full Costume For 'The Flash' Revealed

On February 28 we were granted a look at what the costume from The CW's "The Flash" would look like, but it was only a profile head shot. Now, we got the whole shebang! Today, The CW released a full shot of Grant Gustin as the DC Comics character.  Colleen Atwood designed the costume (which we're really digging). She also designed the costume for The CW’s "Arrow." The pilot is currently in production with David Nutter directing from a script by Berlanti & Kreisberg & DC Entertainment Chief Creative Officer, Geoff Johns.

The CW Reveals First Look at Grant Gustin as 'The Flash'

Production begins next week on The CW’s new pilot "The Flash" but today we get a look at his costume designed by Three-Time Academy Award® Winner, Colleen Atwood. From Warner Bros. Television and based on the DC Comics character, the series is being executive produced by Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg and David Nutter (all of "Arrow"). David Nutter is directing from a script by Berlanti & Kreisberg & DC Entertainment Chief Creative Officer, Geoff Johns. The show stars Grant Gustin as Barry Allen and The Flash.

Details from the release reveal that, "The costume for The Flash was designed by three-time Oscar® winner Colleen Atwood, who also designed the costume for 'Arrow' and whose motion picture credits include Academy Awards® for her work on 'Alice in Wonderland,' 'Memoirs of a Geisha' and 'Chicago,' as well as seven additional Oscar® nominations for films such as 'Snow White and the Huntsman,' 'Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street' and 'Sleepy Hollow,' among others."

The CW Renews Five Fan Favorites for its 2014-15 Season

The 2014-15 season over on The CW will stay cool and spooky thanks to the renewals of "Arrow" (for season three) "The Originals" (for season two) "Supernatural" (for season ten), "Reign" (for season 2) and "The Vampire Diaries" (for season six).

According to CW president Mark Pedowitz, "This season we've had great success with our new hit series 'The Originals' paired with 'Supernatural,' giving us our best Tuesday nights in years. 'The Vampire Diaries' is No. 2 in its time period in the young adult demos, and with 'Arrow' continuing to gain among young men, and 'Reign' growing its time period, we now have strong nights on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. I'm very pleased to announce early pickups for all five series, and let our fans know they’ll have more great drama to look forward to next season."

The Hollywood Reporter mentions that network's biggest success story this season, however, has been on Tuesday night, "In addition to launching the strong Vampire Diaries spinoff, "The Originals," as the new network No. 2 (1.7 rating adults 18-49), nine-season-old "Supernatural" has been hitting three-year highs. The lone holdover from the defunct WB Network, "Supernatural" is up double digits from last year. And "Arrow," still the network's most-watched series with 3.9 million viewers, continues to bring in men to the female-skewing network."

There is still no word on the fate of the network's other paranormally-themed shows, "Beauty and The Beast," "The Tomorrow People," "The 100" and "Star-Crossed" but we'll keep you posted.

DC's 'iZombie' Gets Pilot Order from the CW

A few months back there were whispers that DC Comics' "iZombie" was set to hit television screens, and now it has been announced that the CW has ordered a pilot. According to Deadline, Rob Thomas and Diane Ruggiero are reuniting after their success on "Veronica Mars" to co-write and executive produce the pilot.

Based off of the 2010 comic book series by Michael Allred and Chris Roberson, which was originally published by DC's Vertigo imprint,  "iZombie is a supernatural crime procedural that centers on a med student-turned-zombie who takes a job in the coroner’s office to gain access to the brains she must reluctantly eat to maintain her humanity. But with each brain she consumes, she inherits the corpse’s memories, and with the help of her medical examiner boss and a police detective, she solves homicide cases in order to quiet the disturbing voices in her head."

With the project in the early stages of development, there is no casting news as of yet. While a pilot has been ordered, there is also no guarantee that the network will order a full season, however the CW and DC seem to have had a pretty great run on past collaborations.
