Zombie Film 'Maggie' Casts Breslin in the Lead

Earlier this year Arnold Schwarzenegger was the first big name to sign on to zombie film, Maggie. Chloe Grace Moretz (Let Me In, Carrie) was originally in talks for the title role but according to The Hollywood Reporter, it looks like Abigail Breslin (Zombieland, Little Miss Sunshine) will be returning to the world of zombie movies by joining the cast as the lead.

Maggie is the story of a 16-year-old girl and her family as they cope with an infection that will eventually turn her into a zombie. Instead of the quick transformation from living to walking dead, the infection in this movie takes six months to change someone. While some purists might disagree with this new form of infection, it's definitely bringing something new to the table.

Henry Hobson will be directing the feature and production is expected to begin this fall.
