New 'Star Wars' Villain Introduced at NYCC

In a New York Comic Con exclusive, an all new villain for the Empire has been introduced to the upcoming animated series, "Star Wars Rebels."

The Inquisitor debuted during a panel at NYCC, and is the first new "Star Wars" character to be announced since Disney took the helm. Under orders from the Dark Lord of the Sith, Darth Vader, his job is to hunt down all remaining Jedi Knights.

Many fans are already questioning his purpose, as Supreme Chancellor Palpatine issued Order 66 (the execution of all Jedi), which was followed by the Great Jedi Purge.

Don't get too upset just yet, loyal fans. All members of the panel want us to know that The Inquisitor will not negate Order 66 and they are placing extreme importance on the fact that Luke Skywalker IS the last of the Jedi.

With Tim Curry and Matt Sloan set to voice Emperor Palpatine and Darth Vader, respectively, the new series is full of promise. At this time there is no word on which additional characters will be joining the animated series, but stay tuned! "Star Wars Rebels" is scheduled to air in the Fall of 2014. And while you wait, check out this video direct from NYCC hosted by executive producer of the series, Dave Filoni!
