Varese Sarabande Halloween Gala Concert Held This Weekend

Most people would associate a seasonal gala concert with Christmas, not Halloween.

But think about some of the most iconic horror films and TV programs and their eerie and memorable soundtracks. As soon as you hear the first notes, the goosebumps start to rise. On Saturday, October 19 at 8 p.m. at the Warner Grand Theatre in San Pedro, California, you can treat yourself to a scary good performance.

Varese Sarabande’s 35th Anniversary Halloween Gala Concert will feature music from the award-winning composers of some of the most recognizable music from both horror films and television. For example: “A Nightmare on Elm Street;” “Halloween;” “Psycho;” “Scream;” “The Omen;” “True Blood;” “Ghost Rider;” “Ghostbusters;” “The Ghost and Mrs. Muir;” and, “The Goonies.”

The pieces will be performed by the Golden State Pops Orchestra and will feature a special performance by Slayer drummer Dave Lombardo. There will also be a display of composer Christopher Young’s extensive personal Jack-O-Lantern collection at the Deco Art Deco Building the day of the Halloween Gala.

The Warner Grand Theatre is located at 478 W. 6th St., San Pedro, CA and you can purchase your tickets here.
