Japanese TV Series 'Zombie TV' Hits the Festival Circuit in 2014

Yoshihiro Nishimura, creator and FX makeup master behind "Tokyo Gore Police" and "Vampire Girl vs. Frankenstein Girl," is at it again; only this time he's taking his vision to the small screen with Japanese horror anthology, "Zombie TV."

The new show is set up as a sort of caricature of late night television, and is formatted in a channel surfing style. It features both live action and animated shorts that show "the natural evolution of zombies in the 21st century." But, in true Nishimura horror-comedy style, the zombies aren't truly monsters, just everyday annoyances. For all of those burning, unanswered questions you have surrounding the undead, this show may have the answer. They will delve into such topics as "How did zombies go from shambling to running?" and "How do zombies have sex?"

This will be the first team effort of Nishumura, Manga animator/artist Maelie Makuno and director Naoya Tashiro ("Hell of the College Girls"). "Zombie TV" premiered at Australia's Monsterfest in late November and is expected to make the film festival circuit in early 2014. For the intrigued, here's the trailer!
