"Doctor Who: the World Tour" kicks off on August 7 in Cardiff, with Capaldi and Coleman also be stopping in London, Seoul, Sydney, New York, Mexico City, and ending on August 19 in Rio de Janeiro.
Capaldi expressed his excitement for the tour by stating "It’s fantastic that so many people across the world love Doctor Who. After 8 months solid filming deep in the world of monsters, Jenna and I are thrilled to be heading for the Planet of Fans."
Writer and Executive Producer, Steven Moffat, who will be popping in on the tour as well, weighed in by adding, "I've always thought we'd all be a lot safer if the Doctor conquered the world, instead of the Daleks. Now with Jenna and Peter leading the charge, it looks like it's going to happen. I'll be bringing up the rear to handle the exposition scenes, and maybe carry some bags."
Following the extremely successful 50th Anniversary special, "The Day of the Doctor," this press tour will be the biggest promotional venture in the shows 50 year run. Details of the event are still underway, but fans can expect to have a full itinerary soon, including which cities Moffat will be appearing in and live reports of the tour. Fans all across the globe will be able to enjoy the tour, even if it isn't taking place in their part of the world, with various digital and social platforms. Hooray technology!
