A few months ago, Deanna Uutela, creator of Living Dead Magazine, friend and boss, approached me to be a part of a new tattoo reality tv show. "Epic Ink," centers around Area 51 Tattoo, where shop owner/Captain, Chris 51, has made an inked nerd oasis in the small town of Springfield, Oregon. Naturally, she said, that I was the first person that sprang to mind when they requested a paranormal themed piece, as I am the "paranormal expert" for Living Dead Magazine. When Harold Ramis passed away, I wanted to get a memorial tattoo of him as Dr. Egon Spengler, which was perfect.

I went to the Area 51 website to check out their artists, because getting a portrait tattoo requires a seriously talented artist. While browsing through each artists portfolio, my eyes nearly exploded out of their sockets. These guys (and gal, Heather Maranda!) are like the X-Men of tattoo artists: EFFING BAD ASS. They are also part of an elite group of artists worldwide, that are licensed by LucasFilm. However, there was no question in my mind as to who would be tattooing me. None. Chris Jones was my dude. He eeked out the others because he actually had a "Ghostbusters" piece in his portfolio, so I knew what his Egon looked like and I needed it. Unfortunately, we don't always get what we want and my original idea wasn't going to be able to air on the network. Serious case of the sads. After tossing around a few ideas, since I thought it had to be paranormal in theme, I was asked if I had any other ideas for a piece...something I had been wanting for awhile. Why, yes I did!

Paranormal Pop Culture As Travel Channel Halloween Experts

Paranormal Pop Culture's own Aaron Sagers has joined with the likes of Elvira (Mistress of the Dark), Nick Groff from "Ghost Adventures," Ed and Marsha Edmunds from "Making Monsters," and other advisors to serve as a Best of Halloween 2013 or Travel Channel.

As part of the network's "Weekends To Die For" Halloween programming this month, Sagers suggests you check out Terror Behind The Walls at Eastern State Penitentiary in Philadelphia, as well as pop into Spooky Empire's horror con in Orlando, Florida. 'Face Off' recap: 'Living Art'

A visit from an iconic Mistress of the Dark and some living, breathing works of art, made this episode of “Face Off” very fun and colorful. Two challenges were presented to the remaining nine talented artists so let’s pop on into this recap so I can express how it went.

Foundation Challenge
Candelabras met the artists in the lab, but was Liberace behind them? Nope. It was Elvira! As a lead-in to the new Syfy series in which she’s featured, “Fangasm,” Elvira came by to judge this challenge. Mckenzie revealed that they must “create your own Mistress of the Dark worthy of Elvira’s legacy.”

Elvira advised them to make their designs hip, young and edgy. They got some help from hairstylists and went to work on this two-hour challenge that would give the winner not only immunity, but also an awesome, fully-stocked Krylon make-up kit.

From what was shown, all of the makeups were pretty damn cool but Elvira chose Tate’s “Bride of Frankenstein Meets Sexy Nurse” and Roy’s “Cousin Elmira” as her favorites. She chose Roy as the winner because of the combo of sexy, spooky and funny. This is the second week in a row that Roy gained immunity from elimination. Not that he had anything to worry about.
