'Game of Thrones' Producers Issue Apology for 'The Door'

Spoilers!

For the first time in the series' history, Game of Thrones producers apologized for an episode. DB Weiss and David Benioff used an episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live to issue their heartfelt apology for the events on this past Sunday's episode, "The Door."

Check it out below and let us know if you've been affected by the loss. I actually held the door for a lady today at Old Navy...just saying'. It felt good.

First Season Six Teaser Trailer Released for 'Game of Thrones'

Courtesy winteriscoming.net
We watch, we listen, and we remember. The past is already written. The ink is dry.

The words of the Three-Eyed Raven (Max von Sydow) ominously punctuate this early holiday gift from HBO. For a dead guy (maybe), Jon Snow is heavily present in this 41 seconds of tease for the sixth season of Game of Thrones.

Bran is back after taking a much needed rest last season and he too has the creepy knowledge that, "They have no idea what is going to happen." We'll have to wait a bit longer to find out, but we'll be treated to new characters and previously unwritten stories.

No doubt it will be incredible. The series returns in April.

There is an Urgent Need For an Epidemiologist on 'Game of Thrones'

Courtesy: NBC News
"Game of Thrones" has seen its fill of death and destruction and it comes in many forms. A psychotic king, snow zombies, a crazy bastard who enjoys flaying, oh and weird diseases that a mere touch can trigger. A press release just sent out by Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis, discusses the importance of Westeros desperately needing an epidemiologist. A what? Basically a disease detective and they need one quickly to help with the numerous, yet fictional, diseases that seem to plague Westeros. Namely, greyscale.

Check out the complete release below for a little education on diseases in general and a break down of what's infecting Westeros. Be sure to tune in this Sunday at 9 p.m. on HBO for the next episode, "The Dance of Dragons."

Release:
Fans of the HBO TV series "Game of Thrones" (and the books on which the series is based) know you can’t take a stroll through Westeros without tripping over a knight, a sellsword or a black-cloaked Ranger of the Night’s Watch. But when it comes to protection from harm, what many citizens of the fictional Seven Kingdoms really need these days is an epidemiologist.

It seems the mysterious and deadly greyscale, an infectious disease that leaves its victims’ flesh stiff and dead, has returned. The skin of those afflicted becomes cracked and turns an ominous mottled black and grey color before becoming stone-like to the touch. And that means that White Walkers, dragons and would-be kings with itchy sword fingers aren’t the only things citizens need to fear.

Peter Dinklage and Coldplay Team Up For Red Nose Day

Peter Dinklage recently teamed with the band Coldplay to help out with Red Nose Day. The result? "Game pf Thrones: The Musical" and you can check it out below.

Fan fav, "Tyrion" sings about some of the characters who did not quite make the cut on the HBO series but how he is still goin' strong.

The comedy fundraiser to help impoverished children will also feature Emilia Clark and Kit Harington. It airs on NBC on May 21at 8 p.m. ET.

'Game of Thrones' Recap: 'The Wars to Come'

Courtesy HBO
BY LARISSA MRYKALO

After months of waiting, Game of Thrones is back with a vengeance and we're presented with pretty much immediate continuation of what when on when the fourth season ended.

Tyrion is out of the box; Cersei is super pissed that Tyrion has made her an orphan; Jon Snow tries to reason with a king; Sansa Stark and Lord Petyr Baelish are on a road trip; and, Daenerys is losing control over her children.

Witchy Woman

The show begins with a flashback to a curious and persuasive little Cersei and her frightened friend. They venture into the woods to a notorious witch's home and Cersei demands to know her future. The 'boring' witch wants a taste of her blood and if we didn't know it was Cersei in the first place, when the witch gives her regal predictions, we realize with whom we're dealing.

Cersei is recalling this prophesy as she arrives to attend her father's funeral. She wants the citizens to wait until she gets a personal farewell and Cersei always gets what she wants. At least she tries. Her brother, Jaime, stands by Tywin's side and damn those painted stones over his eyes make him look creepy as hell. Cersei belittles her brother for standing guard and then for freeing Tyrion since he ultimately murdered him. She makes him ponder the consequences of his actions and then adds the coup de grâce that 'daddy loved you best and your stupidity caused his death.' Something like that.

Sesame Street Parodies 'Game of Thrones' in 'Game of Chairs'

The monster is blue and full of errors...

Sesame Street is still teaching kids to count but this time it's chairs. In this six minute "Game of Thrones" parody, "Game of Chairs" we get to see the monsters dressed as mommy and daddy's favorite characters from the HBO series and it's adorable. From Ned to Joffrey to even a dragon, Jesteros is looking for a new ruler and winter is coming.

The Game of Chairs will determine who will be king or queen of Jesteros. Four players will march around three chairs while music plays until one remains. Who will take the crown in this game of musical chairs? Robb, Cersie, Joffrey, Daeneyrus or….?

"Game of Thrones" returns for its fifth season this Sunday, April 12 at 9 p.m. ET on HBO.

Lannister, Baratheon, Stark, Tyrell, they're all just spokes on a wheel. This one's on top and that one's on top and on and on it spins, crushing those on the ground. We're not going to stop the wheel. I'm going to break the wheel.  - Dragon mama, Dany

The second full trailer for the fifth season of Game of Thrones just debuted at that big, fancy Apple event. Why? It's where HBO officially announced its new HBO NOW streaming service. According to The Hollywood Reporter, "The service, called HBO Now, is coming April 12 for $14.99 a month, with the launch coinciding with the release of Game of Thrones Season five."

Stannis means business, Jon Snow utters, "Winter is Coming" and best of all, big fire-breathing dragons. Check it out and let us know what you think. In my humble opinion, it's kicks even more ass than the first trailer. You can also click here for the details on the first three episodes but watch the trailer first.

Full 'Game of Thrones' Season Five Trailer

The "Game of Thrones" IMAX debut of the last two episodes of season four yielded a pretty kick ass trailer for season five. Also, some generous theater-goers decided to share the exclusive trailer. This one comes thanks to Max Trailers.

There were tons of cool images including; Tyrion Lannister falling out of a box and eventually meeting up with Varys, Dany being her usual fierce self, Jon Snow looking well...snowy, Sand Snakes, Cersei being a bitch and Jaime looking over his dead daddy. Oh and Margaery's wedding to Tommen. Hopefully that ends well. Kidding. The trailer met with cheers from the fans so HBO seems to have pleased the masses with this one.

Kit Harington described the new season as lavish and based on this leaked trailer, he wasn't kidding.

Details on 'Game of Thrones: A Day in the Life' Documentary

HBO has been a little stingy about releasing details on the upcoming fifth season of "Game of Thrones" but they're starting to roll out the goodies. A mystery featurette has been previously mentioned and now we know what it entails.

The half-hour documentary is called "Game of Thrones: A Day in the Life" and according to Entertainment Weekly, the special "covers one day of season 5 production on three different Thrones sets in three different countries – Belfast, Northern Ireland; Dubrovnik, Croatia; Sevilla and Osuna, Spain." It will air February 8, at 7:30 p.m.

Will we get a juicy peek at scenes from season five? We'll most certainly learn at least some details since the special will involve spending time with crew members and visiting “the epic sets, renowned cast and global scale of Thrones, as well as the more intimate and individual challenges of our subjects, giving the audience a new perspective on one of the most elaborate productions in television history.”

If you can't wait, remember to head to your local IMAX theater starting on January 29 to not only watch an exclusive season five trailer but view "The Watchers on the Wall" and "The Children." Click here for details.

The fifth season of "Game of Thrones" premieres on Sunday, April 12 at 9 p.m. ET on HBO.

Update and Theater List For 'Game of Thrones' IMAX Screenings

Last week, we reported that the HBO series, "Game of Thrones," would be engaging in a huge first. Screenings of the final two episodes of season four were coming to IMAX as well as an exclusive bonus trailer for its fifth season. The event was supposed to begin on January 23 but was moved to January 29 at 10 p.m. ET.  Also, instead of 150 theaters, "The Watchers on the Wall" and "The Children" will now be shown in about 200 theaters across the US and Canada.

Why the changes? The official blog site states, "Due to high levels of consumer demand, 'Game of Thrones' in IMAX will now launch one week later on Thursday, January 29 beginning at 10 p.m. and extend through February 5. The date change allows for an expanded roll-out of screens to upwards of 200 IMAX theatres. This will be the first-ever presentation of a television program in IMAX theatres, featuring two episodes from season four of 'Game of Thrones' followed by the worldwide debut of the series’ season five sneak-peek preview created exclusively for IMAX."

Good news, right? But wait! There's more! The site states that, "...the first 300 IMAX ticket holders for the Thursday night opening show time at participating IMAX theatres will receive a commemorative 'Game of Thrones' poster from well-known illustrator Robert Ball, who designed interpretive images of the most iconic deaths in each episode."

Is a theater near you on the list and if so, will you be attending? Let us know how awesome it was if you do! Tickets will go on sale on January 16 and you can secure your seats by clicking here. Also, more theaters may be added so keep checking back here to see if one is close to you.

The fifth season of "Game of Thrones" begins on April 12 at 9 p.m. ET.

'Game of Thrones' to Invade IMAX Theaters

Dinklage in 'The Children'
Fans of the visually stunning HBO series, "Game of Thrones," are in for a treat this month when the final two episodes of the fourth season as well as an exclusive preview of the fifth season, are heading to theaters.

According to Entertainment Weekly, "HBO is releasing a 'Game of Thrones' 'movie' into IMAX theaters later this month comprised of the final two episodes of the show’s fourth season." This event will take place in 150 IMAX theaters for one week beginning Jan. 23.

The final two episodes as you may recall, were "The Watchers on the Wall" aka that cool Castle Black episode and the Emmy-nomiated, "The Children." According to Pamela Levine, chief marketing officer at HBO, "The cinematic brilliance and grand scope of the series is perfect for the IMAX format.  We are always looking to provide fans with new and exciting ways to experience the show and viewing two key episodes, along with the new trailer, on such an impressive platform makes for a great event.”

Greg Foster, senior executive vice president, IMAX Corp. expresses, “We couldn’t think of a series more fitting than Game of Thrones to be the first presented in IMAX. The scope and production quality of the show is quite remarkable, which will be highlighted even further in select IMAX locations – allowing fans, as never before, to become a part of author George R. R. Martin’s world that [showrunners] David Benioff and D. B. Weiss created for HBO. It has the action, storyline and epic nature that our fans seek in IMAX and we’re thrilled to team with HBO and our longtime partners at Warner Brothers to offer audiences a chance to experience it in the ultimate theatre setting joined by other fans of the series.”

We've received some peeks into the new season mainly from HBO's year-ender video (embedded below) but it's certainly not enough to hold us over until the series return in April. An extended look at the fifth season is in the works for a February airing. We'll keep you posted, but let us know what you think of Thrones hitting theaters.

Charles Dance Hints at 'Game of Thrones' Character Return

Courtesy HBO
Major spoilers ahead! During the promotion of his film, "Dracula Untold," Charles Dance revealed to MTV a tidbit about his "Game of Thrones" character, Tywin Lannister. It looks like he is not gone for good even though his son, Tyrion (Peter Dinklage), took him out whilst he sat on the...throne.

It went a little something like this, "I'm not completely missing out on the next series...so, you haven't seen the last of Tywin Lannister..."

So what could it be? Clearly a flashback scene is possible even though there are not many in the HBO series. We did see Khal Drogo in that one heart-wrenching scene with Daenerys and their unborn child. Over the summer, WinterisComing.net revealed a bit of info regarding the casting of a young Cersei Lannister in the next season. This would make a Tywin appearance very plausible. What are your thoughts and speculations on the return of Tywin? Maybe Tywin's ghost will haunt Tyrion when he is on the throne? Maybe not.

Check out Dance making the "announcement" in this video below...

Weird Al's Emmy Performance Gave New Life to Popular TV Theme Songs, Including 'Game of Thrones'

Type faster!
HBO's "Game of Thrones" had a ton of Emmy nominations (59 to be exact) this year but one of the statues was not given to Peter Dinklage for his portrayal of Tyrion Lannister. So, boo. But big congrats to Aaron Paul ("Breaking Bad") for that win in the 'Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series' category.

So anyway, Weird Al made an interesting appearance and put his spin on the theme songs of some of the top shows this year. Included in the performance were parodies of "Mad Men," "Modern Family," "Scandal" and "Homeland." Of and of course..."Game of Thrones." You can check out that performance below and if you would like, jump to minute 1:38 for the start of the "Game of Thrones" segment which features SNL alum, Andy Sandberg as King Joffrey. During the GoT song, he encouraged author, George R.R. Martin to speed up his typing so they could get more scripts. See above for the fun gif of that command, compliments of The Huffington Post.

'True Blood' Recap: 'Thank You'

Courtesy HBO
BY DENISE PURVIS

Ummm, no thank you. This episode of "True Blood"…well, I will let you make your own assumptions. Keep in mind that this is the last episode you’re ever going to see.

Bill & Sookie
Sookie is pissed off with Bill because he won’t seek treatment. She sees his nostalgia as regret of letting himself die. Bill tells her that he loves her so much that he wants her to have a normal life. He tells her that she’ll never have that with him, and he requests that she use her fairy light on him so that she can have a normal life, and he can die quickly.

Sookie has flashbacks to when she was a little girl hanging out with Tara. Even back then she couldn’t see a future for herself. She goes to see Jason about Bill’s request and runs into Bridget. She reads her mind and finds out that they didn’t sleep together and that she’s a little torn up about Hoyt, not to mention that she thinks Jason is sweet.

Since Bill is dying, Sookie can hear Bill’s thoughts. Or, I guess that is why she can hear Bill’s thoughts. I guess that makes her feel less hateful towards him. She tells Jason that Bill was thinking everything that you want a person you love to think.

Sam
Sam decides to hit the road with Nicole so that he can see his baby grow up. He leaves Sookie a touching note. He tells her that he and Nicole are heading to Chicago and that she is invited to come up after the baby is born.

Sookie
Bill refuses to explain why he won’t take the antidote from Sarah to Sookie or Jessica. Jessica is sad and Sookie is pissed and keeps slapping Bill. Jessica makes Bill release her. Bill delivers a lovely speech then lets her go.

Ol' girl is having a pretty bad day. First she has to endure Bill refusing an antidote to his Hep-V then getting the Dear John letter from Sam. She delivers the other letter to Andy, and offers to stick around in case he needs a shoulder to cry on. Turns out that it’s just a resignation letter.

Sookie is too depressed to join the little celebration at Bellefleur’s. Sookie asks Arlene how she keeps moving on since she’s had so many failed relationships. Somehow Arlene’s five minutes of advice perks Sookie up, and she joins the table for dinner.

Eric & Pam
After Sarah is tired of hearing all of the voices of her lover’s past, she decides to run outside and give herself up to Gus, Jr. and Eric. Eric, of course, cannot control himself and he pins Sarah up against a pole. Pam is worried that Eric is going to kill her, so she holds a gun to her heart to ensure that he doesn’t. So, he takes a sip of Sarah’s blood, and bam, cured.

Gus, Jr. tells Eric that he’s not synthesizing Sarah’s blood to be a cure. It’s more of a stop-gap so people will come back needing more. Basically it equates to more money.

Eric goes to visit Sookie to let her know that he will be okay. Once she sees that Eric is healed, she wants the serum for Bill. Eric tells her that he will come back to see her later, but she can’t wait due to Bill’s accelerating condition. She ends up at Fangtasia and the Yakuza do not trust her. Eric pretends to glamour her so she’ll leave.

Gus, Jr., Pam, and Eric tie down Amber to try to get answers out of her about Sarah, errrr, New-Me. Eric kind of snaps when Amber won’t answer them, and he looks at her and sees Sarah. The only solution, of course, is to kill her. Pam looks devastated because she knows that without Sarah, there’s no hope left for any of the infected vampires.

Andy, Holly, & Kids
Andy and Holly go out searching for Wade and Adilyn. All they find in the treehouse are their abandoned cell phones. Andy calls Jessica who is still upset about Bill’s progressing virus, but she tells Andy that she hasn’t heard anything from Adilyn.

Adilyn doesn’t realize that she’s in danger because she’s naive. Violet shows them around her "50 Shades of Grey"-esque sex dungeon. The kids both realize that they don’t want to use all the accoutrements of Violet’s sex dungeon. I have to admit that I am glad they both came to this realization because I don’t think I could suffer through that scene.
