Gabby Douglas to visit 'The Vampire Diaries'

Olympic gold medalist Gabby Douglas is heading to the fictional town of Mystic Falls for a guest starring role on The CW's The Vampire Diaries.

Huffington Post reported that the gymnast, who is a professed fan of the show, would not be playing herself but the details about the role have yet to be revealed. During the games, the cast of TVD made a video sending support to Douglas, and she's already been tweeting with star Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev.

This whole crossover is just adorkable. But we know at least one person who is not impressed.

'Ghost Adventures' investigates London for Olympic episodes

You know those summer Olympic Games that come around pretty much every four years? Well, they're about to get spookier.

To celebrate 2012 Olympic Games in London, Travel Channel's Ghost Adventures crew of Zak Bagans, Nick Groff and Aaron Goodwin are hitting ye olde country for two special episodes. The guys will check out the legendary, notorious Hellfire Caves on July 13, and then go to Fort Horsted on July 20.

Personally, I'm not the biggest fan of the Olympic games, but I'm pretty interested in seeing whether Zak & Co. will award the locations a ghoulish Gold Medal, spooky Silver or booing Bronze after their all-night lockdown.

Olympic skeleton guided by spirits

As if the Winter Olympic sport called skeleton isn't cool enough, there's now a little bit of paranormal to add to the wintry mix.

The Calgary Herald is reporting the Canadian skeleton team visited a "sport shaman" last fall to determine their spirit animal.

The shaman, Sandra Molendyk, suggested that racer Jon Montgomery (pictured here) is guided by a spirit turtle, which is why he wears a tribal painting of one on his helmet.

However, having the notoriously slowpoke animal as his spirit guide is apparently helping; the Herald reports that Montgomery had the fastest time in his two training runs this Wednesday.
