DieHard Sells Batteries With Great Zombie Ad

It isn't hard to find zombie-themed ads lately, and with the mega-ratings success of "The Walking Dead" Season Four premiere, that likely won't be changing. Still, not all zombie ads are equally infectious -- which is why "The Getaway" spot from DieHard battery deserves a shout out.

In 70 short seconds, the ad by Y&R Midwest agency and directed by Tom Routson is immediately evocative of a solid horror flick. The viewer quickly gets the sense of the relationship at play in this zombocalypse as a man and woman try to flee from an undead horde. But instead of going for cutesy, the DieHard spot manages to offer up some survivor vindication with a humorous twist without having to pull too many punches. It is a fast, dark, fun advertisement befitting the zombie genre.

Check it out, and tweet the hashtag #SurviveZombies for a 10 percent off DieHard products at a Sears.com zombie site.

Wallace & Gromit visit Nessie

British stop-motion duo Wallace & Gromit have had many adventures, so we weren’t surprised when they recently managed to get their picture taken with the legendary Loch Ness Monster.

According to Scotsman.com, the very pricey (four million British pounds to be exact) tourism campaign video created by the duo’s creator, Aardman, titled "The Great Adventure" aka "Holiday Hot Shots" features them visiting several UK landmarks. Our favorite is the brief shot of them getting their pic taken at Loch Ness complete with a Nessie photo bomb.

Check it out here and let us know if this video accompaniment to the huge VisitEngland/VisitScotland campaign entices you to visit the UK.

Oreo targets supernatural demographic

Ever meet someone who doesn’t like Oreos? Probably not. Have you ever wondered if giving one of these cream-filled chocolate cookies to the Big Bad Wolf, a Vampire, a Great White shark or giant pink squid would change them for the better? Hopefully not, but the newest commercial ponders these serious questions.

Sung by Owl City, this new ad is cute and maybe even a little annoyingly catchy and strange. Vampires drink blood but may transform into a milk drinker. The Big Bad Wolf may re-consider killing the three little pigs and, what’s that in the end? A blue zombie esque hand? A robot hand? Robots don’t eat ... ANYTHING! But hey, these are Oreos that are filled with wonder, right?

So grab a glass of milk, watch the ad (which is likely to earn further installments), and try and comprehend what we’re talking about.

Disclaimer: we’re not responsible for this either sticking in your brain or making you run out for a pack of Oreos that will ruin your diet.

Lynx body spray inspires apocalyptic fantasies

It's the end of the world as you know it, and I feel ... frisky? A new advertisement from Lynx body spray  (another name for Axe in the UK, Australia and other markets) suggests that even though humankind is going down, things might be looking up for your lovelife - if you're an industrious Lynx user. The neo Noah in the embedded ad has a different kind of creature he hopes to attract on his ark. Funny stuff.
