Captain Jack Sparrow's ghost weds impersonator

In case you are new to the Paranormal Pop Culture party, our muster for coverage is that a story has to have some connection between the paranormal space and entertainment world.  That includes new movies about the unexplained, celeb ghost/UFO sightings, and so forth.

And now, apparently, it includes ghost weddings -- at least when the marriage is to a pop-culture figure.

Which brings me to the story of Amanda Teague, a woman from Northern Ireland, mother of five, and Jack Sparrow impersonator. Teague is also a newlywed, having recently married "Jack," a 300-year-old ghost pirate who resembles the Johnny Depp Pirates of the Caribbean character.

According to Metro UK (via Triangle News) Teague met Jack as a friend, through their pirate connections, and became close, before falling in love.

‘One day he said to me ‘We can actually be together you know’ but I had never heard of an intimate relationship between a spirit and a human before," said Teague. "I did some research and found out that it is a real thing and there are lots of people in spiritual relationships, but not many people like to talk about it."

Jack -- a Hatian pirate with jet-black hair, and had been executed for his crimes in the 1700s -- had never married, and the divorced Teague felt it important to be properly married instead of having casual sex with one another.

(And yes, Teague said you can have sex with a spirit and feel many of the same things, but the sensations are "deeper." Jack also fiddles with stereos and lights -- like any old husband, he probably plays one too loud, and turns off the latter as he moans, "Who left all these lights on?")

After Jack proposed, Teague enlisted the help of a medium, donned a white dress, and head to international waters with 12 of her friends and family. Jack, meanwhile, was represented by way of his skull-and-crossbones flag.

OK, so you're probably thinking this is the point where I should insert some snarky comment. But, nope. Certainly, it strikes me as very un-pirate like for a scoundrel such as Jack Sparrow to evolve -- but, hey, people evolve and change, and this is honestly a more interesting character development than I've seen in any of the recent Pirates of the Caribbean movies.

Besides, if Teague truly feels more of a connection with the ghost than she does with human dates, more power to her. She has officially more out about dating than the rest of us.

Final thought: I need to discover if Teague is Amanda's ghost-married name, since that's also movie Jack's surname. Give me a shout if you find out.

Did a 'Ghost' Pay a Valentine's Day Visit to One of England's Oldest Pubs?

Courtesy Manchester Evening News
Here's another 'ghost' video for your perusal and it just happened last week. The UK's Manchester Evening News reported that staff at one of Britain's oldest pubs got pretty spooked when they investigated why the CCTV camera stopped recording at 6:18am on Friday morning (February 14). It seems that in the Ye Olde Man and Scythe, Bolton, Greater Manchester, Valentine's Day may have been confused with Halloween.

According to manager Tony Dooley, "I came down and saw a glass smashed on the floor so I was instantly suspicious and went to check the CCTV and found it has stopped working. We checked the footage and it revealed this figure. To be honest I was a bit concerned - I'm a bit of a sceptic when it comes to ghosts but you become more of a believer when you see things like that."

The pub dates back to 1251, and is the "fourth-oldest pub in Britain and is reputedly haunted by the Seventh Earl of Derby, James Stanley." It also has quite the bloody history including the fact that hundreds of soldiers and civilians were "killed outside the pub in the Bolton Massacre of 1644." It is said to be haunted by at least 25 spirits, and Tony revealed, "Occasionally you hear things and wonder if it's just the building settling down or whether it's something else."

The beginning of the video sets it up nicely and it does look like something or someone appears. Let us know what you suspect. Could it be one of the resident ghosts, a camera glitch, cupid?

Celebrity Selfie Reveals Ghost Hand

In super creepy celebrity selfie news…

Peaches Geldof (daughter of musician Bob Geldof) recently took a bath time fun selfie with her eight-month-old son, Astala and posted it on Instagram. The best part? A body part that she claims belongs to neither of them, appeared in the photo.

According to the 24-year-old, the small, out-of-place hand belongs to a ghost, "Our house was built in the 1920s by a rich man and his pregnant wife. However, his wife had a stillborn baby and was so grief-stricken she went mad. She apparently drowned herself in the bath. The presence I feel isn't malignant or angry, rather maternal and friendly - the house has a lovely atmosphere."

Peaches lives in her Kent, South East England home with her husband and her two sons and according to the Daily Mail UK, “Peaches has started to leave her door open when she sleeps at night in case the ‘ghost comes back.’”
