Scream Factory Summer of Fear Drive-In Presents "Night of the Demons"

In the spirit of Friday the 13th, Scream Factory's Summer of Fear Drive-In will be presenting the cult classic "Night of the Demons." The film will be streaming live via the Scream Factory YouTube channel and the Summer of Fear Drive-In site, and will feature exclusive interviews with the films director, Kevin S. Tenney and star Amelia Kinkade.

For those unfamiliar with "Night of the Demons," here is a synopsis of the film: "It’s Halloween night and Angela is throwing a party…but this is no ordinary Halloween party. Everybody’s headed to Hull House, a deserted funeral home, formerly the home of a mass murderer. But when the partygoers decide to have a séance, they awaken something evil...and these party crashers have a thirst for blood. Now it’s a battle for who can survive the night in Hull House."

Viewers will be allowed to interact with Scream Factory and other fans during the broadcast by posting comments on the YouTube channel and using #summeroffear on Twitter. The Summer of Fear Drive-In is a special presentation by Scream Factory, taking place over 3 consecutive Fridays in June, and features live online screenings of certain films with special behind the scenes looks and insights from actors and filmmakers. All the fun of a drive-in movie without the hassle of leaving your home!

Hellraiser Documentary "Leviathan" Releases First Trailer

More news from the world of Clive Barker! The upcoming documentary "Leviathan: The Story of Hellraiser and Hellbound: Hellraiser 2" has officially released its first trailer. The documentary details the making of and history behind the first two installments of the "Hellraiser" based off of Clive Barker's masterpiece, "The Hellbound Heart."

Here is the synopsis from the film's website:

"Leviathan: The Story of Hellraiser and Hellbound: Hellraiser II" is a feature length documentary uncovering the history, making of and unknown details of the making of Clive Barker’s "Hellraiser" and "Hellbound: Hellraiser II" films. With interviews and testimonies from those most closely involved, we hope to bring a comprehensive insight to these classic cult films. Following the story of the films from their inception through production to release and the their subsequent lives and growing fan base, we aim to show fans and those less familiar with the films both the technical skills, the creative idea, the symbolism and the legacy of these movies. Delving deep into the director’s vision and ambitions for the project we’ll be exploring where he came from, where his career had taken him and the inspiration for the story and world he created. Lena Heady of "Game of Thrones" Joins Cast of Clive Barker's "Jacqueline Ess"

"Game of Thrones" actress Lena Heady will be briefly hanging up her crown and stepping into the world of horror in the upcoming film "Jacqueline Ess." The story is based off of a short story by master of the macabre, Clive Barker. According to Variety, Raven Banner Entertainment and Seraphim Films are producing the feature, which will be going into production later this year after being sold at the Cannes Film Festival.

In addition to co-writing the script with Christian Francis, Jovanka Vuckovic is on board to direct, which will be her first time directing a feature length film. She will also serve as co-producer along with the films star, Lena Heady. Clive Barker and Seraphim's Mark Miller and Ben Meares will serve as executive producers.

"Jacqueline Ess" originally appeared in horror anthology, Books of Blood Volume 2, and is about "a beautiful woman with the ability to horrifically change people’s body shapes simply with her mind. Her ability gives her the power to grant men the ultimate sexual experience, albeit one that always proves fatal. It’s a story of sex, power, and the extremes that await us at the limits of desire."

Clive Barker expressed his excitement on the development earlier by saying “Lena Headey is a marvelous performer with an incredible presence,[...] As far as I’m concerned, there is no better choice of actress for the role of Jacqueline. Her beauty and authority will carry the day.”

Details Revealed on the 'Goosebumps' Movie

Readers beware, you're in for a scare! Fans of the YA horror anthology are getting an early Halloween treat, as details of the upcoming "Goosebumps" movie have been revealed. The plot has been outlined in a press release, and it sounds absolutely (and delightfully) crazy!

In Goosebumps, upset about moving from a big city to a small town, teenager Zach Cooper (Dylan Minnette) finds a silver lining when he meets the beautiful girl, Hannah (Odeya Rush), living right next door. But every silver lining has a cloud, and Zach's comes when he learns that Hannah has a mysterious dad who is revealed to be R. L. Stine (Jack Black), the author of the bestselling Goosebumps series. It turns out that there is a reason why Stine is so strange… he is a prisoner of his own imagination – the monsters that his books made famous are real, and Stine protects his readers by keeping them locked up in their books. When Zach unintentionally unleashes the monsters from their manuscripts and they begin to terrorize the town, it's suddenly up to Stine, Zach, and Hannah to get all of them back in the books where they belong.

The meta-plotted movie will be directed by Rob Letterman, with a screenplay by Darren Lemke and Mike White, and a story by "1408" scribes Lemke, Larry Karaszewski and Scott Alexander. Filming began earlier this week in Georgia (Conyers, Madison and Atlanta) with a release scheduled for March 23, 2016.

Bella Thorne Set to Star in New “Amityville” Movie

According to Yahoo’s “The Wrap”, Disney Channel star Bella Thorne is set to star in the new “Amityville” movie for Dimension Films and Blumhouse Productions.

The horror flick will also star Jennifer Jason Leigh. Originally, the movie was set to film through a found footage angle, but the idea was dropped after falling out of favor with horror fans. Currently, the storyline revolves around a single mother (Leigh), that moves into the house with her three children, seemingly unaware of the homes dark history.

Directed by Franck Khalfoun ("Maniac"), the film was co-written by Casey La Scala and Daniel Farrands, with Jason Blum of Blumhouse Productions is expected to produce. Audiences can expect to see the film hit theaters on January 2, 2015.
