Nicolas Cage: 'I'm not a vampire'

Nic Cage went on Late Night with David Letterman last night to a) promote the Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance, and b) convince the masses that he is not an undead bloodsucker with a damned soul but actually just an actor (which is still kind of similar, am I right?).

After an eBay seller of Civil War photographs hosted an auction featuring an 1870s image remarkably similar to Moonstruck-era Cage, the Internet has been a-buzz with the theory that the actor is a vampire.

So what's Cage's defense? "How can I be polite about this? It’s a somewhat slowed-down version of me." He adds that "there's a photograph of me and you can't take pictures" Further, he contends, "I don’t drink blood, and the last time I looked in the mirror I had a reflection."

That's a good point, Nic. But isn't that exactly what a lord of the dark world might say if he's trying to snooker us - and get us to see his new movie?
