B.P.R.D. meets MIB in new 'R.I.P.D.' trailer

A dead cop is recruited into the supernatural service of the Rest In Peace Department to apprehend the dead who escaped judgement and made their way back to earth. Ryan Reynolds stars as the young stud recruit and Jeff Bridges is the salty old loose cannon of a partner. Together, hyjinks ensue and they have to save the world just as the kid is getting the hang of the job.

If this paranormal buddy cop movie sounds like Men In Black, well remember that MIB did pretty well financially so, um, yeah. But R.I.P.D., like MIB, is based on a comic book series. Interestingly enough, the comic is published by Dark Horse, the same guys behind Mike Mignola's Hellboy and the very similar Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense.

Opening July 19, R.I.P.D. looks pretty fun. Hell, who doesn't like it when Jeff Bridges does cowboy? The effects here look a little too animated but they might get cleaned up a bit more. But what do you think? Will you show up for R.I.P.D.?
