David 'The Governor' Morrissey Cast as Lead in New Pilot

AMC has recently announced some potentially spoileriffic casting news by naming David Morrissey the lead of their new show, "Line of Sight."

Morrissey, currently the Governor on AMC's "The Walking Dead," will be portraying Lewis Bernt, a National Transportation Safety Board investigator. Bernt miraculously survives a plane crash, which sends him on a journey to uncover the mysterious cause of the accident.

This announcement is sure to fuel speculation that the Governor will be meeting a sticky end rather soon. While Morrissey was part of the TWD panel at this years San Diego Comic Con, his character was conspicuously absent from the Season Four teaser trailer.

As fans have come to learn, no one is ever safe on TWD, so the Governor's demise wouldn't truly be that much of a shock. However, when the network spoke with Deadline, they stated that both shows are produced in Atlanta, Georgia; making it possible for the actor to film both shows at once.

"Line of Sight" is directed by Jonathan Demme ("Silence of the Lambs"), and is currently in pre-production with no release date currently set. So for now, it appears that the Governor is sticking around to cause trouble for just a little while longer.
