Breaking: Syfy is ordering up additional episodes of its hit original reality series Fact or Faked: Paranormal Files. Production will commence on 12 new one-hour episodes, which will be added to the current second season. The popular investigative series is scheduled to return in October 2011.
Says Syfy, "Fact or Faked: Paranormal Files has delivered series highs in total viewers for five consecutive weeks since returning for its second season on March 23, 2011. In its second season to-date, Fact or Faked is averaging 1.455 million total viewers per week (+52% vs. season 1), 859,000 Adults 25-54 (+58%) and 808,000 Adults 18-49 (+53%)."
For a little perspective, this is not the first time the network has been pleased enough with the show to order up more episodes right away.

The show airs its mid-season finale Wednesday night when the team builds its own sea serpent and takes the beast out on the water (clip embedded below for your enjoyment).
