Paranormal Pop Culture: 'Toy Story' gang checks into Bates-like motel for 'Terror' special

After already seeing the Toy Story gang reunite for shorts "Hawaiian Vacation," "Small Fry" and "Partysaurus Rex," Collider reported that Woody, Buzz et al. will be getting together for two 22-minute TV specials.

Now we have more details that the first of the special, due in 2013, will be a Halloween-themed outing called Toy Story of Terror.

The plot:

What starts out as a fun road trip for the Toy Story gang takes an unexpected turn for the worse when the trip detours to a roadside motel. After one of the toys goes missing, the others find themselves caught up in a mysterious sequence of events that must be solved before they all suffer the same fate in this Toy Story of Terror.

This sounds like a very fun extension of an already good brand. Putting the toys together for a hotel, horror-esque mystery just feels right, and promises to be fun - if it has the sensibility of Toy Story 3 and not Cars 2.
