'True Blood' season 6 news, casting info

It looks like Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin) is getting a new love interest in the next season of the fangtastic HBO series True Blood. The fact that she has a new beau indicates that she survives Billith’s chase that was left as the season 5 cliffhanger.

He is actor Rob Kazinsky and according to TVLine.com, “Kazinsky, whose biggest TV credit stateside was an arc as a doctor on Brothers & Sisters, will play Ben, a highly charismatic faerie who takes a liking to Sookie (and vice-versa) and helps Sookie and Jason delve deeper into the mystery of their parents’ murders.”

Another hire for season 6 is Blade Runner’s Rutger Hauer, who will be playing the role of Macklyn and is described as a "mysterious and sinister figure"...go figure! Are any characters on True Blood "normal and boring"?

Another kind of disappointing tidbit about Season 6 comes from Screen Rant...
"Departing showrunner Alan Ball recently revealed that next season will cut out two episodes, leaving the total number at 10, instead of the typical 12. Could a shortened season 6 hurt the series, which is already abundant with characters and storylines? Ball claims that next season will be reduced to 10 episodes partially because of star Anna Paquin (Sookie Stackhouse), who is due to give birth to twins with onscreen love-interest and real life husband Stephen Moyer (Bill Compton) this November. Additionally, Ball also noted that the episode order was cut for "economic" reasons (read: to save money)."
The waiting for season 6 is already a pain in the neck - we have to wait until June of 2013. What are you most excited to see next season? Do you think shortening the season will help the series weed out any unnecessary plot lines or will it hurt the series? Let us know!
