'Hellboy 3' on the way?

During their press tour for Pacific Rim, Guillermo del Toro and Ron Perlman discussed the possibility of another Hellboy film with the head of Legendary Pictures, Thomas Tull.

In an interview with Shock Till You Drop, del Toro revealed that he and Perlman have discussed making a Hellboy 3: "I hate giving pieces about it, but last night, we were at dinner and Ron said, 'I would be very happy to do Hellboy again, when are we doing Hellboy 3?”

Also from del Toro, “Thomas [Tull] said, 'I would love to see Hellboy 3.' He didn't say he would love to do it he just said he'd like to see it, but today, I'll ask him."

Perlman also talked about how much he enjoy working with del Toro, “Not just anybody can make this movie. I loved working with Legendary and I know for Guillermo, working on Pacific Rim was one of his greatest experiences.”

Perlman later added, “My immediate, silent wish was, wouldn't it be great if these guys came in and helped resolve the Hellboy series."

In an update on the prospect, Tull made the comment that “there are rights issues that would need to be sorted out for Legendary to get involved.”

As far as the creator aspect of it, Mike Mignola told Paranormal Pop Culture's Aaron Sagers, in 2011:

"I won’t say there’s no possibility but certainly, there’s no talk of a Hellboy 3 ... I certainly wouldn’t mind it. I mean, it does help sell, you know, comics. Having it out there. But, you know, my theory with films has always been that if it happens, it happens. It’s so out of my control that I’m not going to waste any time thinking about it."

We’ll keep you updated on whether Hellboy 3 will be made a reality.
