International 'Godzilla' Trailer Reveals... A Big Flying Monster?

The international trailer for 'Godzilla' features a little less Bryan Cranston freak out or foreboding philosophical ponderings from Ken Watanabe than the super-sized awesome trailer, so you might reasonably be wondering what it DOES offer to make it worth a post.

Aside from a few glimpses of, presumably, Gojira, we see a BIG. FLYING. SOMETHING. At around 1:19, there is monster in the skies. Any guesses as to what it might be?

The new "Godzilla" movie trashes theaters this May 16.

New 'Godzilla' Trailer Unleashes Nuclear Lizard Hell

Are you ready for the rampage yet? If not, you will be after this new "Godzilla" trailer that just left me in a puddle of nerd drool.

In the second official trailer, which will hit theaters March 7, we get a very upset Bryan Cranston

outing the idea that there has been a cover-up on what we assume are recent monster attacks. Instead of a natural disaster, he shouts that whatever is "out there" is "going to send us back to the Stone Age." We then get glimpses of that wreckage, including the Statue of Liberty (sorry, New York City, we have not been spared this time) and then a lot of partial shots of likely Gojira emerging from the water. 

The trailer seems to suggest more of the origin story of Godzilla with a voiceover by Ken Watanabe tell how, in 1954 (the year the original "Godzilla" film was released), "we awakened something." Further, nuclear tests in the Pacific weren't tests, but an attempt to kill the creature. Military action appears to be put in motion, but while fighter jets are tossed out of the sky and there are mysterious monster bones (and eggs?) -- on Monster Island, right? Right? -- Watanabe continues: "The arrogance of man is thinking nature is in our control and not the other way around."

Towards the end of the trailer, we are treated to a partial Godzilla roar that transitions into a crescendo of tension sound effects and then: The best clear shot of the king of monsters roaring face, through a pair of closing bunker doors.

Godzilla is on its way May 16, 2014, and I am super super stoked. Watch the trailer and let me know if you are too.

Bryan Cranston is Lex Luthor -- Maybe

The end is drawing closer for fans of "Breaking Bad," but IF the rumor mill is correct, Bryan Cranston should stick to the chrome dome look. While it has yet to officially announced or confirmed, Cosmic Book News reports that Cranston has been cast in the "Man of Steel" sequel/ "Batman vs. Superman" movie as Superman's nemesis, Lex Luthor.

News of Cranston stepping into the role of another baddie might soften the blow (for those it bothered) that Ben Affleck has been cast as the Dark Knight. Well, fellow nerds, we had better get used to the idea of Affleck as Batman, because he has reportedly signed a deal for 13 appearances, to Cranston's reported six as Luthor.

The news of Cranston portraying one of DC Comics most infamous villains is said to be made official after "Breaking Bad" ends. The sequel is set for a summer 2015 release date.

And please keep in mind that we're talking about news that's gained traction on the Internet, so if this is wrong, well, don't blame us.
