'In Search of Aliens: Season One' Arrives on DVD December 9

If you weren't sure what to buy that lover of all things out-of-this-world this holiday season, look no further. On December 9, Lionsgate Home Entertainment is releasing the new DVD set of In Search of Aliens: Season One. Not only does the series explore extraterrestrials but also cryptids and advanced civilizations such as Atlantis.

All of the details on the series, the set and the lead contributor are outlined below thanks to the press release:

From the creators of HISTORY®‘s successful series Ancient Aliens, comes the exciting spinoff In Search of Aliens: Season One, arriving on DVD December 9 from Lionsgate Home Entertainment. Referenced as “the real Indiana Jones” (Magic Image), lead contributor Giorgio Tsoukalos has traveled the globe to research and investigate evidence of extraterrestrial contact with humans throughout history. From the lost city of Atlantis to the Loch Ness Monster, Giorgio is determined to find the truth. Packed with extraordinary stories and theories about extraterrestrial phenomena, the In Search of Aliens: Season One 3-disc DVD will be available for the suggested retail price of $19.98.

In Search of Aliens: Season One follows ancient astronaut theorist Giorgio A. Tsoukalos as he travels the world exploring the world’s most ancient mysteries. A few highlights from Giorgio’s journeys include: “The Hunt for Atlantis,” where investigators attempt to locate the city that Plato described and wonder whether it was home to an advanced civilization that created the human race; and “The Mystery of Loch Ness”, where Giorgio travels from Scotland’s Loch Ness to Vermont’s Lake Champlain looking for connections between the geology of the two locations and the world-famous yet elusive lake monsters, Nessie and Champ.

'My Little Pony-Friendship is Magic: Spooktacular Pony Tales' Coming this September

If you're a "My Little Pony" fan and enjoy all things spooky (and who doesn't?) you're going to want to sit down for this announcement. Coming this September 9 to Ponyville and your happy home from Shout! Factory Kids in collaboration with Hasbro Studios, is the DVD, "My Little Pony Friendship Is Magic: Spooktacular Pony Tales."

Not only does the DVD feature six episodes and a sing-along, but it also comes with "My Little Pony Friendship Is Magic" pumpkin carving stencils and a color Halloween poster perfect for seasonal decorating. Yep, you heard right!

Everypony loves Halloween… the candy, the pumpkins, the costumes, the friends! Supernatural Comedy, 'Deadbeat' Arrives On DVD August 26

Coming to DVD (plus Digital) this August 26 from Lionsgate Home Entertainment is the supernatural comedy series, "Deadbeat." The series stars Tyler Labine ("Reaper") and features Brandon T. Jackson ("Tropic Thunder"), Lucy DeVito ("Melissa & Joey) and Cat Deeley (the host of TV's "So You Think You Can Dance").

Critics have declared "Deadbeat" as "disarmingly funny" (Variety) and a "hilarious and heartwarming" comedy (New York Post).

Synopsis:
Kevin Pacalioglu (Labine) may have no money and no clue, but he can see dead people, so that's pretty cool. Faced with a constant stream of stubborn spirits, Pac goes to whatever lengths require the least amount of effort to help New York City's most frivolous ghosts finish their unfinished business.

The DVD includes three bonus featurettes and is available for the suggested retail price of $19.98 exclusively at Target.

Third Season of 'Game of Thrones' Available on DVD/ Blu-ray February 18

The third season of "Game of Thrones" had some undeniably memorable moments (hint: "The Red Wedding") and now you can own them. "Game of Thrones: The Complete Third Season" comes to Blu-ray, DVD and Digital Download on February 18, 2014. Just in time to cram for the fourth season which is due to air this spring. The set comes "loaded with exclusive bonus content including comprehensive guides, illustrated histories and an in-depth look at "The Rains of Castamere."

From the press release, "The Blu-ray with HBO Select and DVD bonus materials in 'Game of Thrones: The Complete Third Season' contain multiple featurettes, extended and deleted scenes, and audio commentaries. Additional features on the BD release include interactive guides, illustrated histories, and an extensive feature on the creation of 'The Rains of Castamere,' containing nearly two hours of never-before-seen material, as well as new looks at the infamous 'Red Wedding.'"

Laurel TV's 'Monsters' To Be Released on DVD This Spring

Oh boy, candied critters! Following the recent announcement that "Tales From the Darkside" is returning to television, Fangoria revealed that cult-classic TV series "Monsters" will be coming to DVD. Apparently, 2014 is the resurrection year for horror anthologies.

Released by Entertainment One, "Monsters: The Complete Series" is a nine disc set that will feature all 72 episodes of the show. The series aired from 1988-91 with reruns on both the Syfy and Chiller networks. No special features have been announced at this time.

Richard P. Rubinstein of Laurel Entertainment, who also worked on "Tales From the Darkside" and numerous George A. Romero films, served as executive producer. Many talented actors were featured on the show, such as Tony Shaloub, Adrienne Barbeau, Steve Buscemi and Pam Grier, and also showcased stories adapted from the works of Robert Bloch and Stephen King.

"Monsters: The Complete Series" will be available on March 4, and retails for $99.98. If the name itself isn't ringing any bells, check out the show's intro!
