'Cabin Fever' Reboot Gets its First Official Trailer

In 2002, Eli Roth infected us gore hounds with Cabin Fever and since then, I've always been weary of shaving my legs. But that's another horror story. Now, 14 years later, in this day of remakes, IFC Midnight and director, Travis Zariwny bring us his very close interpretation of that all-too-familiar "doomed teens boning in a woodland cabin" scenario.

Just in time for Valentine's Day, the Cabin Fever reboot will hit Los Angeles and NYC theaters as well as On Demand on February 12. A trailer has just been released and it looks a lot like the original with some modern touches. I for one hope there are some scenes where selfies with the infected are posted to Instagram. Bloody fingers crossed! The film features Gage Golightly, Matthew Daddario, and Nadine Crocker.

Eli Roth Involved in New WE tv Horror Series, 'South of Hell'

The battle between good and evil will commence on WE tv in 2015 and Eli Roth is attached to the network's second original scripted series. The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that WE tv has greenlit the horror thriller "South of Hell" straight to series. According to THR, the new show "centers on Maria Abascal, a demon hunter whose power stems from within."

James Manos Jr. ("Dexter") will serve as show runner, Matt Lambert wrote episode one, with Eli Roth ("Hemlock Grove") directing the episode. Roth will serve as one of the executive producers alongside Blumhouse Productions' Jason Blum ("Paranormal Activity"), Gerard Bocaccio, Stewart Till, and Sonar Entertainment CEO Gene Stein.

Marc Juris, WE tv president, commented on the news, "As WE tv moves firmly into scripted programming, we are committed to presenting distinctive and engaging stories to today’s savvy TV audience. That is certainly the case with 'South of Hell,' a dramatic thriller that introduces viewers to an unforgettable character, supernatural themes and the battle between good and evil."

The series logline describes a strong female lead which fits perfectly for WE:

"Savannah, Ga., is an elusive city with many faces and the perfect home for Maria Abascal, a stunning, 30-year-old demon-hunter-for-hire. Alongside her brother, David, she is skilled and fearless in her pursuit of the demons that live in others. Like those that she hunts, Maria is divided within herself, struggling with her own demon, Abigail, who resides inside of her, feeding on the evil Maria exorcises from others. Maria and Abigail share a soul and a destiny, but as Maria desperately tries to overtake Abigail, she will discover how far Abigail will go to remain a part of her."

The drama will premiere in 2015 and is scheduled for eight episodes.

Green Band Trailer Released for 'The Sacrament'

From writer/director Ti West ("The House of the Devil") and producer, Eli Roth ("Hostel") comes the horror/thriller, "The Sacrament" and now we can check out the Green Band trailer. The film is due out from Magnet Releasing on iTunes/On Demand May 1, 2014 and in theaters June 6, 2014. It stars Joe Swanberg ("You're Next"), AJ Bowen ("The House of the Devil"), Kentucker Audley ("Sun Don't Shine"), Amy Seimetz ("The Killing"), and Gene Jones ("No Country For Old Men").

Synopsis:
"The Sacrament" follows two Vice Media correspondents as they set out to document their friend's journey to find his missing sister. They travel outside of the United States to an undisclosed location where they are welcomed into the world of "Eden Parish," a self-sustained rural utopia, comprised of nearly two hundred members. At the center of this small, religious, socialist community is a mysterious leader known only as "Father." As their friend reunites with his sister, it becomes apparent to the newcomers that this paradise may not be as it seems. What started as just another documentary shoot soon becomes a race to escape with their lives.

'Clown' Trailer Not For the Faint of Heart

Would you invite him to your kid's party?

Back in 2010, a parody trailer for a film purportedly produced by Eli Roth, hit the Internet. It was called "Clown" and wonder of wonder, miracle of miracles, Roth liked it and decided to take the story and make an actual film. The story is fairly simple, the clown a couple hires for their son's birthday party doesn't show up, dad finds a cursed clown suit in their home, dons it, saves the party, and then can't take it off and gets all murdery. Hilarity ensues!

Produced by Roth and directed by Jon Watts, "Clown" stars Andy Powers, Peter Stormare, Laura Allen and Elizabeth Whitmere and will be released by Dimension films some time this year. It is uncertain whether or not it will hit theaters.

Readers with coulrophobia, do not proceed. Brave souls, check out the real trailer (hurry because it keeps getting removed from some sites) and then notice how similar it is to the fake one.

'Ghost Adventures' Celebrates 100 Episodes

Tonight, the "Ghost Adventures" crew celebrated 100 episodes of lock downs and ghostly confrontations and interactions. Whether you believe in the evidence that Zak, Nick and Aaron (and Billy and Jay, of course) have collected over the last five years, there is no denying the impact the guys have had on the entertainment realm.

To celebrate this, I reached out to a few celebrities and a lot of friends of the paranormal reality show to extend their well wishes and congrats to the guys. From Eli Roth, Loretta Lynn and Kane Hodder to Dave Schrader, Jeff Belanger, Chip Coffey and yours truly, head over to the Travel Channel website to read the nice things we all had to say about 100 episodes of "Ghost Adventures."

Stanley Hotel film fest promises 'Shining' lineup

The Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, Colo., is not only a historic and haunted destination (and, course the inspiration for Stephen King's The Shining) but now it will be home to a film festival presented by NBC Universal’s Chiller.

Running May 2-5, the inaugural Stanley Film Festival (SFF) looks to be a very strong launch and will boast not only popular horror films, but some really cool special events. A big part of any film festival are the short films debuting new and established talent. The SFF will feature 22 short films from eight countries. According to Programming Director Landon Zakheim, "The 22 short films selected represent some of the most adventurous work happening in genre film today."

To kick off the fest during the "Shining Gala" party, they’ve selected to screen Universal Picture’s new Ethan Hawke (Sinister), Lena Headey (Game of Thrones) crime thriller, The Purge. Some of the other films being screened are Eli Roth’s Cabin Fever, the Singapore/Indonesian horror film Macabre and No One Lives.

'Hemlock Grove' at WonderCon with gruesome wolf-out footage

We are only a couple weeks away from the debut of horror director Eli Roth's new series Hemlock Grove, which drops an entire season all-at-once on Netflix April 19.

As Netflix describes it, the werewolf show based on Brian McGreevy's book is set in a rusted Pennsylvania steel town where the mangled body of a teenage girl is discovered.

"As they hunt for a monster among them, rumors mount and many of the eccentric residents become suspects, from the newly arrived gypsy family to the wealthy Godfrey clan," says the synopsis, and more supernatural goodies beyond wolfs will be involved.

At WonderCon last week, the cast (which includes Famke Janssen, Dougray Scott, Bill Skarsgård, Landon Liboiron, Penelope Mitchell, Freya Tingley, Aaron Douglas and Kandyse McClure) took to the stage at WonderCon with Roth, McGreevy and executive producer Lee Shipman to chat about the show... and to horrify and delight audiences with the werewolf transformation scene.

The clip, embedded after the jump (via IGN), made my jaw drop.

In an exclusive over at EmpireOnline.com filmmaker Eli Roth (Cabin Fever, The Last Exorcism) gave the scoop on his upcoming film, The Green Inferno.

The tale of NYC student activists who head to Peru to do some protesting, Inferno puts the kids at odds with some unfriendly cannibals. According to the article, "Die-hard Cannibal Holocaust buffs will know that The Green Inferno was one of the English names for Cannibal Holocaust II, so some may already have guessed that Roth's film of the same name - co-written with newcomer Guillermo Amoedo - also features flesh-eating bad 'uns deep in the jungle."

Says Roth, about theout-of-the-studio trek into the wild setting:

We went in the Amazon deeper than anyone has ever shot a movie before. I went so far up the river, we went to a village where they had no electricity, no running water, and they never before had seen a movie or television... 

We had to explain to them conceptually what a movie was, and we brought a television and a generator and we showed them Cannibal Holocaust. They thought it was the funniest thing that they had ever seen, but we had to know whether they were down with it to let us in their village... 

Thank God no one got killed, but there were tarantulas, there were spider bites, there were snakes. It was insane. Everybody had to get de-parasited after we got back, but the footage was incredible. I’m just editing the material right now.

The Green Inferno is scheduled to be released in 2014, and stars Lorenza Izzo from the Roth-produced Netflix horror series Hemlock Grove.

First look at Eli Roth's Neflix show 'Hemlock Grove'

The trailer for the Eli Roth-directed horror series Hemlock Grove debuted at the TCA Press Tour, and it looks like it might promise some over-the-top sexy, supernatural monster action.

The series, which will debut on Netflix April 19 with all 13 episodes of the first season, is based on Brian McGreevy's 2012 of the same name. Revolving around the murder of a town girl, the show follows the lives and families of rich kid Roman and Gypsy trailer trash kid Peter. But not everything is as it seems, since witches and supernatural powers - and a possible werewolf - cast a pall over the town.

The show looks really creepy-cool so far, and boasts a solid cast of Famke Janssen, Dougray Scott, Lili Taylor, Aaron Douglas and Bill Skarsgård (Alexander's brother).

And the best part? There will be no waiting week-to-week between episodes since they'll all be available at once.

Eli Roth to open Goretorium attraction

Eli Roth is one of Hollywood's more prolific horror producers and directors with hits like Cabin Fever and Hostel, plus he does a little acting too (Inglorious Bastards). So imagine how delighted we were when we discovered  a new attraction would be opening up in Las Vegas where you could actually experience Roth's deliciously disturbed mind, first hand.

It is called, appropriately enough, Goretorium and from the tidbits the website offers, well, disturbing is an understatement. It opens on Sept. 27  and it is not just open for the Halloween season, but is a 365-days a year treat situated across from CityCenter and the Cosmopolitan.

The brand new attraction is based on the mythical Delmont Hotel where, 50 years ago, a family of cannibalistic owners would drug their guests, filet them while they were still alive, and feed them to their other guests. Yummy! Patrons self-guide through the Delmont, starting in the lobby, and get to witness the horrors that this serial-killing family bestowed upon their victims.

Says the site, "employing high-tech Vegas showmanship with old-fashioned scares, the terrifying labyrinth of live actors, animatronic frights, and stunning special effects is contained in a vintage hotel setting that rivals the best movie sets."

If you can't head to Vegas to experience this living nightmare, the site allows you to "Launch the webcam to watch our guests s#!+ their pants and see what you're missing." Sounds fun! There are also videos and pictures to draw you into the madness. (Check out this pretty grotesque clip not for the easily grossed-out).





Tickets are $35 if purchased online or $40 at the door. There is also a "Death Row VIP Fast Pass" for $60 in case you want to skip the line and jump-start your terrifying experience!
