Another horror-comedy series is coming to Starz and this time, it involves a Zombie. Deadline is reporting that rocker and one of my favorite film makers, Rob Zombie, is teaming up with Mila Kunis and her Orchard Productions for a new horrody called, "Trapped." Zombie, who will also direct, promised on his Facebook page that, "Me and my pal Mila have some crazy shit planned."
The series, which was created and written by Joey Slamon, will occur, "...over a single night in the home of a wealthy family under attack by a murderous cult." Fun! Will it have that same edge that Zombie delivers in his films? Will some of his famous squad members appear? (Sorry, this "squad" term seems to be the new trend.)
No casting news is out or when it will air but we wanted you to get excited for this new series. We'll keep you posted.
In the meantime, Rob Zombie's, 31, is due out next year. Here's the plot summary: On October 30, 1975, five carnival workers were kidnapped and held hostage until the following night (Halloween), where they are put in a compound. They’re told that they are there to take part in a game named “31” where the goal is to survive past the next 12 hours. This is made difficult by the fact that they are not alone; a violent gang of evil clowns are there and stalking their every move.
Spike TV just issued a press release revealing that horror movie maven, Rob Zombie will be appearing as a special Guest Judge on their reality competition series, “Ink Master." The episode will air next week, Tuesday, April 15 at 10 p.m., ET/PT.
Zombie plays a huge role in this episode where the eight remaining contestants will "show off their abilities by creating the most fearsome demons to impress Zombie’s tantalizing tastes."
The release informs the unfamiliar with what Spike TV’s “Ink Master” entails:
"...it’s a weekly competition series where tattoo artists from around the country battle it out in permanent ink for a $100,000 grand prize, an editorial feature in Inked and, the bragging rights title of ‘Ink Master.’ Each week 'Ink Master' puts artist through a series of tattoo challenges that are not only designed to test the artists’ technical skills, but also their on-the-spot creativity, where they must create and execute an original tattoo by command on a ‘Human Canvas.’ Each episode focuses on a different and distinct style of tattooing including realism, black and gray, geometric, neo-traditional, Asian and cover-up, among others. The masterpieces these artists create will last a lifetime, but so will their mistakes. After every challenge, the contestants face a tough panel made up of series host Dave Navarro (Jane’s Addiction) and world renowned tattoo artists Chris Nunez ('Miami Ink') and Oliver Peck (Elm Street Tattoo) and a roster of guest judges including Rob Zombie next week."
When you think of Rob Zombie you think rock legend and horror movie genius, having directed such films as “House of 1000 Corpses," “Devil's Rejects” and “Halloween." Now, according to Dread Central, Zombie is teaming up with “American Psycho” writer Bret Easton Ellis to bring us the chilling story of Charles Manson. The project is in its early stages of development and no formal script has been written but the project plans to revisit the people and events connected to the August 1969 murders.
Zombie has had a long standing fascination with the Manson murders which left seven people in the Los Angeles area dead, including actress Sharon Tate who was eight and a half months pregnant. Manson is currently serving a life sentence in prison for the crimes even though he was never found to have committed a homicide himself. It was the sheer theatricality of how his followers committed crimes for him that have allowed this story to continue to be told.
Recently, "Ghost Adventures" visited the Oman house in Los Angeles which is roughly 200 feet from where the body of actress Sharon Tate was found in 1969. Paranormal Pop Culture’s own Nowal Massari provided a recap of that episode which can be found here. David Oman, the current owner claims that the spirit of Sharon Tate has been trying to communicate with him. He’s had so much activity in the house, he produced the film “House at the End of the Drive” about his experiences in the house.
Rob Zombie just can’t keep his hands out of the horror jar and we’re very happy about it. This
Halloween season, filmmaker and musician Zombie will bring not only three haunted attractions that pay homage to some of his most terrifying films, but also concerts.
It’s called “Rob Zombie’s Great American Nightmare” and its location is the Fairplex FEARplex in Pomona, CA outside of LA. The frights are available for 15 nights ... Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays ... from Oct. 10 through Nov, 2.
Zombie is collaborating with haunted house producer Steve Kopelman and Andy Gould to bring the three attractions that are not for children or the easily scared. He’s also working with with event music producers Kevin Lyman and John Reese.
Here are the Haunted House descriptions taken from the official site:
It’s been a while since theaters have had the pleasure of a Rob Zombie film on their screen. Now we know that his latest film from Anchor Bay Entertainment,Lords of Salem not only has a release date (April 19) but also a new trailer.
Written and directed by Zombie and produced by the Paranormal Activity franchise triumvirate of Jason Blum, Oren Peli, and Steven Schneider, Lords of Salem stars Zombie’s wife (a staple in his films), Sheri Moon Zombie.
Here is the official site’s synopsis:
Heidi (Sheri Moon Zombie), a blonde rock chick, DJs at the local radio station, and together with the two Hermans (Whitey and Munster) forms part of the ‘Big H Radio Team’. A mysterious wooden box containing a vinyl record arrives for Heidi, “a gift from the Lords”. She assumes it’s a rock band on a mission to spread their word. As Heidi and Whitey play the Lords’ record, it starts to play backwards, and Heidi experiences a flashback to a past trauma. Later, Whitey plays the Lords’ record, dubbing them the Lords of Salem, and to his surprise, the record plays normally and is a massive hit with listeners. The arrival of another wooden box from the Lords presents the Big H team with free tickets, posters and records to host a gig in Salem. Soon Heidi and her cohorts find that the gig is far from the rock spectacle they’re expecting; the original Lords of Salem are returning, and they’re out for BLOOD.

Patrick remake poster sees you
This one sheet for the Patrick remake has been stirring up folks on the Interwebs, and you can kind of see why. This is a remake that slipped under just about everyone’s radar. The remake of the 1978 Richard Franklin film is directed by Mark Hartley (Not Quite Hollywood) and stars Richard E. Grant (Corpse Bride), Rachel Griffiths (Blow) and Sharni Vinson.
The synopsis:
After killing his mother and her lover some years before, Patrick is the comatose patient in Room 15 of a remote, private psychiatric clinic run by the secretive Dr. Roget, who treats him as a guinea pig in his bizarre studies of life and death. When Kathy, a nurse who has recently separated from her boyfriend, begins working at the clinic, she is instructed to care for him. She is disturbed by Roget’s treatment of him and somehow feels that Patrick is trying to make a connection with her. When Kathy realizes that the lifeless murderer can communicate, she is shocked but compelled to prove her theory. Patrick has psychokinetic powers that he uses to talk to Kathy by transferring his thoughts to a computer. As Patrick’s communication becomes stronger, strange and terrifying events begin to occur. Patrick has feelings for Kathy, and his affection is about to manifest itself as a deadly, bloody obsession. (via Dread Central)
Robocop gets a new chief
Looks like Marianne Jean-Baptiste will be giving the orders as the Chief of Police in the Robocop remake. Very little else is known about her character at the time, but Robocop will take place in the year 2029 and multinational conglomerate OmniCorp is in charge of building robots that have been winning the U.S. wars, and now they want to bring this technology on their own turf. Marianne Jean-Baptiste (Without a Trace) joins Joel Kinnaman, Gary Oldman, Samuel L. Jackson, Hugh Laurie and Jackie Earle Haley to name a few. (via Shock Til You Drop)
New poster for Rob Zombie’s Lords of Salem
Any lucky duck attending the Toronto International Film Festival will get to see the premiere of Rob Zombie’s latest flick, as well as getting to see the second poster he's released (the first of which looks like a character from Lucio Fulci’s House By the Cemetery). This second poster features Sheri Moon Zombie looking quite spooky. The posters themselves look like old '60s posters, plain and simple, yet effective.
The synopsis:
“Heidi (Mrs. Zombie), a blond rock chick, DJs at a local radio station, and together with the two Hermans (Whitey and Munster) forms part of the 'Big H Radio Team.' A mysterious wooden box containing a vinyl record arrives for Heidi, a gift of the Lords. She assumes it's a rock band on a mission to spread their word. The arrival of another wooden box from the Lords presents the Big H team with free tickets, posters and records to host a gig in Salem. Dead Space 3 release date confirmed
Finally! The third entry in one of the most truly frightening video games series will be jumping out of the dark at you on Feb. 5, 2013 (at least here in the States). Be sure to pre-order the Limited Edition for access to the first two game bundles, "First Contact" and "Witness to the Truth." Check out the content that comes loaded in the Limited Edition as well as the trailer:
“First Contact” Bundle
• First Contact Suit: This unique EVA (Extra-Vehicular Activity) suit was built by the SCAF (Sovereign Colonies Armed Forces) for encounters with "foreign entities.” It sports a flamboyant golden finish to provide protection from long-term space exposure and thick armor for… unspecified reasons. The suit was given the nickname "First Contact" by the scientists who made it.
• Negotiator Weapon: While technically classified by the SCAF as a "scientific instrument,” the gold-plated "Negotiator" is loaded with some surprisingly aggressive hardware. The overclocked, top-mounted Tesla Beam is capable of bursting a man-sized organism into several pieces with a single shot. The bottom-mounted Linegun appears to have been built with the sole purpose of cleanly dismembering organic tissue from a distance.
"Witness the Truth" Bundle
• Witness Suit: These insulated suits were worn by a SCAF deep dig team assigned to exhume the darkest secrets of Tau Volantis. Whatever they found locked deep in the ice changed them forever. When they emerged weeks later, they were covered head to toe in strange graffiti and claimed to be "Witnesses to the Truth.”
• Evangelizer Weapon: A modification of the standard AL-2 used by the Sovereign Colonies Legionaries, this version sports a souped-up AL-2g assault rifle on the top with an Emerson 2100 "Big Boy" tactical shotgun on the bottom. The surviving "Witnesses" of the SCAF deep dig team dubbed it the Evangelizer and decorated them top to bottom with strange symbols.

New Resident Evil 6 Gameplay Video Showcases Jake
Wait a second, who? For those of you who saw the first trailer, Jake is a new character in the Resident Evil world and it’s no secret that he is the son of none other than Albert Wesker! Check out this video Capcom showed off at this years Gamescom. (via IGN)
Rob Zombie is not the devil. At Revolver magazine’s April Golden Gods Awards in Los Angeles, his stage presence was that of a long-haired, bushy-bearded heavy metal headbanger in an inverted pentagram goat’s head tee, but the man speaking now is a calm, soft-spoken optimist and vegetarian. Although he’s a musician who has added director, illustrator and comic book creator to his resume over the years, he’s more likely to be rejected by the devil than to become a Superbeast. Still, Rob Zombie is a hell of an entertainer.
It’s an exercise of multimedia calisthenics to speak with Zombie about work. Aside from his Halloween franchise reboot and its sequel, or the animated “adult/monster/sex comedy” The Haunted World of El Superbeasto, Zombie is involved in no less than five projects he can talk about. When he picks up the phone in late March, he’s prepping for his “Gruesome Twosome” tour with another theatrical hard rocker Alice Cooper that ran for almost two weeks at the end of April, after which he’ll tour with the Mayhem Festival until August. His February album, Hellbilly Deluxe 2 – the sequel to his 1998 solo album – is still a hot topic, as is the March episode of CSI: Miami he directed and a new comic book, Whatever Happened to Baron Von Shock.
The headline about says it all. The Hellbilly musician and director of Halloween II, which opens Friday, tells MTV.com he "had no problems" with Twilight, and says, "I'm sure I'd enjoy it a lot more if I was a 14-year-old girl!"
It's interesting to get one paranormal pop culture figure's take on another pop entry, but his comments don't really reveal much. Frankly, despite his rep as a goremonger gained from his films House of 1000 Corpses and The Devil's Rejects, Zombie seems like an alright dude and it makes sense he wouldn't just trash Twilight outright. Not only would it not be classy, but it's not good press to tick off a large female demographic right before your flick opens.
Aside from that, Zombie doesn't say he liked Twilight either. So this doesn't really count as a victory for fans.
One final thing: MTV.com gets it wrong when they say True Blood had anything to do with "today's teenage vampire obsession." The HBO show taps into a reinvigorated genre, it's true, but a show for teens, it's not. This point goes to Twilight alone.
