R.L. Stine's 'Mostly Ghostly: Have You Met My Ghoulfriend?' Available on DVD and Blu-Ray This September

A new family adventure from Universal Studios Home Entertainment and "Goosebumps" creator, R.L. Stine is coming to DVD and Blu-Ray™ combo pack with DVD, Digital HD & Ultraviolet™ on September 2, 2014. Stine's "Mostly Ghostly: Have You Met My Ghoulfriend?" will also be available on digital HD on August 19.

New 'Alien vs. Predator' Maze Coming to Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights

Have you ever wondered how you'd react if you ever came in contact with a Xenomorph or a Predator? Of course you have, and now thanks to a collaboration with Twentieth Century Fox Consumer Products, Universal Orlando Resort and Universal Studios Hollywood are making this awesomeness happen.  Adding to their already epic line-up of scares, “Halloween Horror Nights" has added an "all-new, horrifying maze inspired by the cult sci-fi franchise AVP: Alien vs. Predator, beginning Friday, September 19, 2014."

Here are all the just-released details via Universal:

"AVP: Alien vs. Predator" is a sci-fi horror franchise that brings together the two iconic species spawned from two blockbuster films, Alien and Predator, to create a terrifying crossover of eponymous monsters in a raging battle against mankind struggling to survive amid the chaos that ensues from these two vengeful creatures. To mark the 35th anniversary celebration of Alien, and the 10th anniversary of AVP: Alien vs. Predator, “Halloween Horror Nights” guests and fans of these celebrated films will have a chance to live the horror of these diabolical beasts as they come face to face with the terror of Aliens and Predators.

Universal Orlando Announces Dates for "Halloween Horror Nights 24"

Returning for its twenty-fourth year of terrifying the public, Universal Orlando has just announced the official dates for "Halloween Horror Nights 24."

This year they are promising the more nights than ever before, as well as horrifying experiences based off of some of the biggest names in pop culture and horror. On 28 selected evenings, September 19 through November 1, guests will be able to explore 8 terrifying haunted houses, wend their way through bone-rattling street experiences that feature "scareactors," as well as enjoy 2 live shows and have some heart-racing fun of a different variety on the parks rides and attractions.

Event nights are as follows:
September 19, 20, 25, 26, 27 and 28
October 2, 3, 4, 5, 9, 10, 11, 12, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 29, 30 and 31
November 1

Universal Studios Teaser Promises Diagon Alley Sneak Peek

It looks like 2014 is going to be Potter-ific for theme park fans and Hogwarts hopefuls. With the new teaser hosted by James Phelps (aka Fred Weasley), the excitement building up to Universal Studios Orlando Diagon Alley is officially underway. Of course Diagon Alley will be connected to the enormously successful Harry Potter Wizarding World at Islands of Adventure, and the video below promises more details and a sneak peek at the 2014 expansion with a Jan. 23 webcast.

Casting For 'Ouija' Film Underway

Thanks to a tip from our friend, Ouija historian Bob Murch, we’ve learned that a film based on the Hasbro board game, “Ouija,” is looking for lead roles. Universal Pictures is in the process of casting teens and young adults to play in the thriller.

According to the casting call, Michael Bay’s production company Platinum Dunes, in association with Blumhouse Productions, is ready to begin shooting the film and the casting director is now auditioning actors for lead roles. The roles being cast are that of high school-aged teens and shooting will occur at Universal Studios in Hollywood, as well as surrounding outdoor locations in the LA area.

A big-budget family adventure-based story was originally brought to the table back in 2011 but was put on the back burner due to budget concerns. The project has now been approved with not only a more streamlined budget but a new screenplay. According to the announcement, “Filmmaker Stiles White is directing "Ouija" from an original screenplay that he wrote with his horror screenwriting partner Juliet Snowden.”

Exploring Fear & 'The Walking Dead' At Universal Orlando's Halloween Horror Nights

The Halloween screams don't end after Oct. 31 for the creatures, and creature creators, at Universal Studios Orlando's Halloween Horror Nights. While you may be removing gooey fake blood, latex or fangs after a long night of candy corn and cocktails, the scares continue at the 23-year-old event in Central Florida.

Running through Nov. 2, Orlando's Halloween Horror Nights (HHN) - which has a counterpart at the Universal Hollywood in California - has consistently ranked at the top of lists of best haunt. In fact, HauntWorld, a magazine for professional owners and operators of Halloween attractions, called it "simply the king of all Halloween theme parks."

And for a second year in a row, the "king" of haunts has partnered with the ruler of cable television, AMC's series "The Walking Dead," to create a zombie-ridden experience. Although this year the scream team has expanded to include park-wide "scare zones" where so-called "Walkers" from the show will terrorize guests as they explore the movie-set streets - and wander through scenes from the first three seasons of the mega-hit show. Also, "The Walking Dead: No Safe Haven" haunted house, or maze, allows those guests to visit the disturbingly accurate prison and town of Woodbury from the show.

‘The Walking Dead’ Experience Comes to Halloween Horror Nights

In addition to their other scares, Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Orlando Resort is bringing The Walking Dead to their parks this Halloween. Season Three of the AMC series will be the inspiration for the new attractions and guests can expect an authentic and disturbing experience.

“Halloween Horror Nights” starts on Sept. 20 and not only will you be able to experience new mazes that take you through the West Georgia Correctional Facility, but also through walker-infested woods and into Woodbury.

As if that wasn’t terrifying enough, we’ve learned from the press release that, “Universal Orlando is also dedicating its entire ‘Halloween Horror Nights’ street experience to The Walking Dead – making this the first time ever that all of the scare zones throughout the park will be themed after a hit television series.  Guests brave enough to walk the streets of Universal Studios Florida will encounter iconic scenes from all three seasons of the hit show - including the perilous city of Atlanta and Hershel’s dismal barn - and fleets of blood-thirsty walkers who are hungry for their next victim…”

According to Michael Aiello, Creative Development Director for Universal Orlando’s Entertainment team, “The goal is always to surround guests with authentic and terrifying experiences. The combination of The Walking Dead themed street experiences and the haunted maze will make it difficult for our guests to escape the hordes of ravenous walkers they’ve seen on their television.  The moment you pass through our gate, you become a survivor fighting for your life.”
