'Sharknado' Super Obsessed Fan Contest

If you're a super fan of the crazy popular Sharknado franchise and want to be a part of history, now is your chance. A companion film that will highlight the making of The Asylum film franchise is being made by Cinedigm and the retrospective is set to be released this summer. If you want to get involved, we have that crucial info for you below.

So, here you go...all the gory details for the contest are outlined below. Will you take the plunge? Let us know! You have until April 15. "Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No!" will air on Syfy on Wednesday, July 22 at 9 p.m. ET.

The Asylum is producing the first-ever feature-length film about the Sharknado phenomenon, and fans have the chance to be part of it! The producers of the Sharknado film series are calling for fan video submissions to be judged for inclusion in their yet-to-be-named campy new film about the Sharknado franchise, the surprise phenomenon that first captured the public’s attention in 2013.

The film will be a no-holds-barred, hands-on look at the making of Sharknado 3as well as a retrospective celebrating the rise of Sharknado and Sharknado 2: The Second One and how the franchise became a cultural juggernaut. The film will feature new in-depth interviews with cast and filmmakers, as well never-before-seen footage from the set. And it will explore why and how people respond to the films, which is where the fans come in: eligible video submissions will be included in the documentary to illustrate just how rabid Sharknado fans can be.

Chiller, known for cultivating fresh talents in the horror genre, has just launched the "Killer Shorts" film contest. The contest is geared towards "collegiate-level" filmmakers in schools across the United States. Aspiring directors are asked to submit a 2-3 minutes long horror short.

Chiller will be making appearances and hosting various engagements on college campuses across the nation, which are all aimed at bringing awareness to independent filmmaking, from now until mid-April. Not enrolled in one of the participating colleges? Don't worry, you can still submit a short!

When submissions close on April 30, Chiller will select their top 13 and audiences will then choose their favorite on the Chiller website. The winning short airing on Chiller after the premiere of their original horror anthology, "Chilling Visions: 5 States of Fear," on July 11, 2014.

"Chilling Visions: 5 States of Fear" is the latest installment in Chiller’s anthology film series, Chilling Visions. Last year marked the debut of the anthology, titled "Chilling Visions: 5 Senses of Fear" and features the work of five up-and-coming filmmakers, including a short by the young and critically acclaimed director, Emily Hagins. "5 States of Fear" will comprise shorts inspired by five basic human fears, with each short set in a specific location across five different U.S. states.

'True Blood' contest connects fans with Bill & Pam

To correspond with the fifth season DVD release of True Blood, HBO is running an interactive contest to allow fans a chance to win a DVD virtual signing with stars Stephen Moyer (Bill Compton) and Kristin Bauer van Straten (Pam De Beaufort).

The contest, hosted by the official True Blood Twitter feed @TrueBloodHBO, began on May 13 and will run through May 17. The "Psalms of Lilith" contest asks fans to fill in the missing words from a Psalm of Lilith (#fillintheblood). The top 10 submissions for each Psalm will win an autographed copy of the release. The winners will be announced the day after their tweet on the official contest site www.FillInTheBlood.com.

Specific details taken from the press release state that, at 12 noon PST/3 pm EST on Tuesday May 21 (the DVD's street date) Moyer and Bauer van Straten will participate in a virtual signing live from Bill Compton's mansion on the True Blood set. During the time, they will read the winning tweets, sign DVD copies and answer submitted questions from fans. The signing will stream live on a True Blood Ustream channel.

Added the press release, "Winners will also receive a copy of their winning tweet on an old-world styled parchment as a keepsake, along with other prizes." Yup, that's one fancy tweet.

HBO announces 'Game of Thrones' contest for show props

Well this is cool. To celebrate the third season of Game of Thrones, which has already been renewed for a fourth, the HBO Shop is launching a sweepstakes to earn some very nifty props from the show.

Starting April 10, fans can visit www.gameofthroneswinthemap.com to enter for a chance to win the Westeros map and sigil-markers Robb Stark uses as he tracks foes and strategizes in his war for the Iron Throne. Made of resin, the six markers are crafted to represent houses Stark, Lannister, Frey, Karstark, Greyjoy and Tyrell.

A second place winner will receive a commemorative Game of Thrones gift set featuring: Game of Thrones: The Complete First Season and Game of Thrones: The Complete Second Season on Blu-ray; Inside HBO's Game of Thrones, the official behind-the-scenes book authored by show writer Bryan Cogman features full-color photographs, interviews, a foreword by George R.
