Barry Fitzgerald Involved with New Series, 'The Legend Seekers'

Banshees, blood-thirsty faeries, haunted castles...what's not to love? Barry Fitzgerald, formerly of "Ghost Hunters International," is now involved with a web-based history/mystery series called "The Legend Seekers" and there is an Indiegogo campaign to help get the series launched. "The Legend Seekers" explores Irish legends and based on the brief promo video, the series looks quite interesting. "The Legend Seekers" consists of paranormal researcher and author Barry Fitzgerald (familiar to viewers from shows such as Ghost Hunters and Ghost Hunters International) along with Cormac Strain, a Carlow based author and researcher.

Both Legend Seekers are committed to connecting Ireland’s history with its mystery.

Accompanied by faithful canine companion Max, Barry and Cormac explore places of ancient Irish myth and lore that usually even the locals don’t know about. Fascinating tales of blood-drinking fairies, Islands of the Dead, mysterious drownings and Blood Gods are just a few of the Legends this plucky trio seek out for your enjoyment.

TNT's Summer Programs 'Falling Skies,' 'Legends' and 'The Last Ship' Coming to WonderCon Anaheim

Get ready Anaheim! TNT is bringing three of its action-packed summer series to WonderCon Anaheim on Saturday, April 19.

"Falling Skies" is returning to WonderCon for the second time, and the panel is set to include Moon Bloodgood ("Terminator Salvation"), Sarah Carter ("Final Destination 2"), Seychelle Gabriel ("The Last Airbender"), Doug Jones ("Pan's Labyrinth") and the show's executive producer/director Greg Beeman (Smallville, Heroes). The season premiere of "Falling Skies" is Sunday, June 22, at 10 p.m. ET.

The panel for TNT's upcoming new series "Legends" will include such huge names as Sean Bean
("Game of Thrones," "The Lord of the Rings"), Ali Larter ("Heroes"), Morris Chestnut ("American Horror Story," "Nurse Jackie") and Tina Majorino ("Grey's Anatomy," "True Blood"), along with executive producer/showrunner David Wilcox ("Fringe"). "Legends" premieres on Wednesday, Aug. 13, at 9 p.m. ET.

TNT's new action-adventure series from executive producer Michael Bay, "The Last Ship," will conclude the day with stars Adam Baldwin ("Firefly") and Travis Van Winkle ("Heart of Dixie"), along with showrunners Hank Steinberg (creator of "Without a Trace," "The Nine") and Steven Kane ("The Closer"). "The Last Ship" premieres Sunday, June 22, at 9 p.m. ET.

TNT Reveals Premiere Dates and Trailers For 'Falling Skies,' 'The Last Ship' and 'Legends'

On Thursday, we reported on today's three SXSW panels featuring the TNT shows "Falling Skies," "Legends" and "The Last Ship" and now prior to the panels, the release dates and first look trailers have been revealed.

From Michael Wright, president, head of programming for TNT, TBS and Turner Classic Movies (TCM), "For the past three summers, TNT has had great creative and commercial success with 'Falling Skies,' which has inspired us to continue to program for fans of sci-fi and action. This year, we're going to launch 'The Last Ship' and 'Legends,' two expertly crafted shows that bring the storytelling scope and thrill-ride excitement of our favorite summer movies to series television. With their great writing, expansive casts and outstanding production quality, these are really fun, smart and addictive shows."

The press release provided the news that "The Last Ship" will kick off TNT's summer action series  on Sunday, June 22, at 9 p.m. (ET/PT). Executive produced by Michael Bay ("Transformers"), the new series is about a Navy vessel that may be humanity's last hope in the wake of a worldwide catastrophe and stars Eric Dane ("Grey's Anatomy") and Rhona Mitra ("Strike Back").

The fourth season premiere of "Falling Skies," from Amblin Television and executive producer Steven Spielberg, will follow "The Last Ship" at 10 p.m. (ET/PT).

TNT's new drama, "Legends" premieres in August, and comes from Homeland executive producers Howard Gordon and Alexander Cary and Fringe co-executive producer David Wilcox. It is scheduled to premiere on Wednesday, August 20, at 9 p.m. (ET/PT) and stars Sean Bean ("Game of Thrones") as a deep-undercover FBI agent who may be losing his grip on reality.

Icelandic Road Project Delayed to Protect Elves

A story about elves? On Christmas Eve? We can't believe our luck! Scandinavian lore is rich with tales of elves, trolls and other legendary characters. It seems that the Huldufolk (Iceland's term for elves) are currently making the news in Iceland. Stories of the hidden folk are quite prominent in the country and are still taken seriously. They even have political representation in this country where the current population is 320,000.

According to the AP, "Elf advocates have joined forces with environmentalists to urge the Icelandic Road and Coastal Commission and local authorities to abandon a highway project building a direct route from the Alftanes peninsula, where the president has a home, to the Reykjavik suburb of Gardabaer. They fear disturbing elf habitat and claim the area is particularly important because it contains an elf church."

Destination America's 'Monsters and Mysteries in America' Returns for a Second Season

Coming this December 15 to Destination America, a second season of "Monsters and Mysteries in America" returns with 12 episodes that explore new legends and lore. The season promises viewers that they'll get to hear from people who have had close encounters with real-life folktale fiends. Each episode focuses on "a different American region and features stories of people who claim to have encountered creatures of local legend."

According to Marc Etkind, general manager of Destination America, viewers are in for quite an adventure, “Road trip through small-town America and odds are that patrons at local diners will be brimming with tales of mysterious creatures and unexplainable phenomena from the well-known chupacabra and bigfoot to the more obscure Michigan dogman and Missouri momo. 'Monsters & Mysteries in America' takes the cross-country trip for you, emerging with the most cryptic, frightening, and brow-furrowing stories to hail from all four corners of the U.S., and the heartland in between.”
