Syfy announced this week that they will pair with Oscar-winner Jamie Foxx (Django Unchained), through his Foxxhole Productions, on a five-episode horror anthology series. The untitled show will be executive produced, written and directed by Foxx and will explore morality tales with themes like envy, jealousy and superficiality. Universal Cable Productions will produce the series.

There is no title yet but it is scheduled to be aired during the network's 31 Days of Halloween programming slate this October.

The series is being compared by Syfy to successful TV classics like Tales From the Crypt and The Twilight Zone.

Foxx commented, "This is a project that I’ve wanted to do for a long time and I’m so happy to see it come to life. Get ready to lose it when some special friends and I bring the scares this October, and who knows… maybe I’ll make a guest appearance or two along the way!"

President, Original Content, Syfy, and Co-Head, Original Content, Universal Cable Productions, Mark Stern expressed how happy the network is to collaborate with Foxx. "We couldn’t be more excited to work with someone as talented and multifaceted as Jamie Foxx. His passion and unique perspective will transform these universal insights on the human condition into emotionally potent and truly scary cautionary tales."

We’ll keep you posted as more details emerge about this anthology, as well as any more Syfy announcements. It seems to just keep getting better!
