The Old and New 'Ghostbusters' Meet in This 'Mashed' Animated Short

The peeps over at Mashed recently smooshed together the original four Ghostbusters with the "sexy, new, young, beautiful" Ghostbusters in this three-minute animated short. "Channing Tatum" leads the new crew and pranks the original team by calling them in to investigate a spooky, old orphanage.

Douchtastic Tatum uses terms such as "bro," "kegger" and "butthole" and he's just awful. The pranks include scaring the old guys with a Xenomorph from "Alien," sewing the three living Ghostbusters together ala "The Human Centipede" and scaring ghost-Egon with the Billy puppet from "Saw." Who wants to join me in kicking this new team's ass?

It's all in good fun, right? Check it out and let us know what you think. I kind of like how they're making fun of the future reboots but damn it, leave the fab four alone!

Destination America Offers a Daytime Block of Ghostly Programming

Not all of us like to watch soaps and talk-shows during the daytime hours and Destination America took the initiative in offering "No Life to Live." No it's not a new parasoap! Although that would be interesting. It's a block of paraprogramming that begins on Monday, June 1 and runs 9-5 p.m. ET. The programming runs Monday through Friday for the full eight hours and will feature shows such as; "Ghost Asylum," "Amish Haunting," "Ghost Stalkers" and "A Haunting."

The full release via Destination America is available below so you can get all the spooky details...

Imagine you’re watching a scary ghost show – a terrifying one, like GHOST ASYLUM on Destination America. The lights are off. No one else is home. Then BANG! There’s a knock at the door. You hear creaking, the muffled yell of a disembodied voice, the sound of something big and heavy dragging across the floor. You weren’t expecting company at this hour. The clock strikes 12… in the afternoon and you realize it’s only the package deliveryman. You’ve been watching too much of Destination America’s new ghost-filled daytime programming block NO LIFE TO LIVE.

Who says ghost stories are just for nighttime?

Starting this June, daytime becomes playtime for fans of all things creepy with the debut of NO LIFE TO LIVE on Destination America beginning Monday, June 1 from 9am-5pm ET. Continuing weekly Monday through Friday, the daytime programming block presents eight full hours of ghostly myths and legends so chilling that even daylight can’t scare away the heebie-jeebies. Viewer favorites including GHOST ASYLUM, A HAUNTING, GHOSTLY ENCOUNTERS, and GHOSTS IN MY HOUSE deliver all the drama of typical daytime fare with demons, visions, and ghouls in place of soap operas’ divas, villains, and girls next door.

'Jaws' Returns to Theaters For a Special 40th Anniversary Screening

It's hard to believe that it's been 40 years since Steven Spielberg's film adaptation of the Peter Benchley novel, Jaws, instantly terrified all who waded into theaters.

Whether you consider Jaws a horror movie, a thriller, or a cautionary tale to never again go swimming in the ocean, it's made a lasting impact to this very day. As a little girl, I begged to see Jaws and to this day, it has affected my swimming habits. When I hear that iconic John Williams score, I get chills.

Now, on June 21, you can check it out the way it's meant to have been seen...on the big screen. In a select 500 theaters, special screenings of the film will be presented by Fathom Events, Turner Classic Movies (TCM), and Universal Pictures. According to Entertainment Weekly, "TCM’s Ben Mankiewicz will provide a special introduction for an afternoon and evening showing, as well as an encore presentation on June 24."

You can click here to see if a theater near you is participating and also, to purchase tickets in advance. Tickets are available starting on May 29.

Will you be getting your feet wet? And remember, most people get attacked by sharks in three feet of water about ten feet from the beach. Happy Summer! Oh and enjoy the original trailer embedded below...

Syfy Gives Us a First Look at 2016's 'The Magicians'

One of Syfy's new scripted programs, "The Magicians," is coming in 2016 and now...presto!... they're offering a first look.

Brakebills University isn't your ordinary school...it's a world where magic is real. Now where else can you find a school at which to hone the skills of magicians? I ask you! Oh...wait.

Check out the trailer after the show's official description (via Syfy) and then let us know if you're dazzled enough to watch. It looks interesting and I like the possibility of potential world domination by magicians.

Based upon Lev Grossman's best-selling books, The Magicians stars Jason Ralph (A Most Violent Year, Aquarius) as Quentin Coldwater, a brilliant grad student who enrolls in Brakebills College for Magical Pedagogy, a secret upstate New York university specializing in magic. He and his 20-something friends soon discover that the magical fantasy world they read about as children is all too real— and poses grave danger to humanity. Stella Maeve (Chicago P.D.), Hale Appleman (Teeth), Arjun Gupta (Nurse Jackie) and Summer Bishil (Towelhead, Lucky 7) also star in this one hour drama.

Fox Announces Fall Primetime Programming Plus 'The X-Files' Premiere

The major networks recently did some drastic housecleaning but clearly they were just making room for more programming (much to the chagrin of some fans). Now, we can take a look at Fox's fall schedule and see when our favorites TV shows, old and new, will be available for our viewing pleasure.

The one we X-Philes, and "Sleepy Hollow" and "Gotham" fans have been waiting for is the Fox schedule and now it's available thanks this press release. In addition to the new "The X-Files" mini season, Fox continues to provide us with a plethora of paranormal pop culture including the new shows, "Scream Queens," "The Frankenstein Code" and "Lucifer."

Regarding the much anticipated return of "The X-Files," here is what the release has to say:

The next mind-bending chapter of THE X-FILES debuts with a special two-night event beginning Sunday, Jan. 24 (10:00-11:00 PM ET/7:00-8:00 PM PT), following the NFC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME, and continuing with its time period premiere on Monday, Jan. 25 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT). The thrilling, six-episode event series, helmed by creator/executive producer Chris Carter and starring David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson as FBI Agents FOX MULDER and DANA SCULLY, marks the momentous return of the Emmy- and Golden Globe Award-winning pop culture phenomenon, which remains one of the longest-running sci-fi series in network television history.

'Torchwood' Set to Return This Fall

The final season of "Torchwood" aired in 2011, and fans of the "Doctor Who" spin-off have been awaiting a revival of the series ever since. Well now, you'll get the chance to learn what the gang have been up to for the last four years, as Captain Jack Harkness will be donning his suspenders and saving the world once again in the upcoming series of audio plays from Big Finish.

"Torchwood has been to the moon, and America, and the Himalayas, but now I think it's finally coming home, to the brilliance of Big Finish," show creator Russell T Davies, said of the audio dramas.

Each episode in the six episode series will focus on a different member of the team and the repercussions that a mysterious incident has on them, eventually reuniting the whole team for future stories. The first episode will center around Captain Jack, with John Barrowman returning to the role.

As of now, no other cast members have announced their participation in the audio series; but after years of championing the shows return, it won't be too long before official cast announcements are made.

"The Conspiracy," the first episode in the series, is set for a September 2015 release and is available for pre-order.

Steven Moffat Says Ninth Season of 'Doctor Who' Set to Answer a Big Question

"Why this one? Why did I choose this face? It's like I'm trying to tell myself something. Like I'm trying to make a point. But what is so important that I can't just tell myself what I think?"

A seemingly sly implication that Whovians would be receiving an explanation behind the reappearance of Peter Capaldi in the Whoniverse. While that moment never came in his first season as the Doctor, it appears as though it will be addressed in the upcoming season.

For those unfamiliar, Peter Capaldi appeared alongside David Tennant's 10th Doctor in an episode called "The Fires of Pompeii" as the Roman Merchant, Caecilius. He was next seen in Torchwood: Children of Earth, as Home Office permanent secretary, John Frobisher. While Doctor Who is no stranger to reusing actors, Karen Gillan was first seen in "The Fires of Pompeii" before stepping into the TARDIS with Matt Smith, this is the first time in NuWho history that an actor that has previously been on the show has portrayed the Doctor. I emphasize NuWho, because Colin Baker portrayed a Gallifreyan guard before he became the Sixth Doctor.
