New Teaser For 'The Walking Dead' and the Promise of a More 'Grown-Up' Season

The newest 15-second teaser for season five of "The Walking Dead" features a surrounded Tyreese in a quaint little home in the woods. So he's not at Terminus. Check. It's brief but tense and hints at the intense season that awaits. Doesn't it seem like at the beginning of the past season, they build up the tension and say how brutal the upcoming season will be?

Last season (at least the second half) left us with no fingernails and Andrew Lincoln recently old Entertainment Weekly in an exclusive that this was kid's stuff. Lincoln said, “We’re really earning our rating this season. There are families that watch it together, but just so it’s on the record, guys—it’s a grown-up show this season.” EW was on set to get a closer look at this season and this week is offering four exclusive covers with the full story. Here's a little bite from executive producer and creator of the comic, Robert Kirkman, “By minute two or three of our season premiere, I think the vast majority of our questions have been answered, and five or six more have been presented, so you’re very much going to be invested, well-informed, and ready for the ride that we’re going to take you on.”

Andrew Lincoln and 'Walking Dead' Superfan Prank Norman Reedus

Elaborate prank videos are all the rage these days but this one got the celebrity touch and is sure to make you smile. We promise.

Superfan of "The Walking Dead" and Vine ‘Zombie Prankster,’ 17-year-old Nick Santonastasso, succeeds in making one of the most badass actors from the series, scream. With the help of Andrew Lincoln (Sheriff Grimes to you and me), and Special Effects Guru/Executive Producer, Greg Nicotero, Nick manages to frighten Norman Reedus (Daryl Dixon) during an interview break in a hotel room.

The press release offers some background of the prank, "FOX, leading international entertainment pay-TV network and broadcaster of 'The Walking Dead' in 125 countries outside the USA, launched its social media driven “#getFOXed” campaign in Tokyo today."

Nick, was born with a rare syndrome called Hanhart and has only one arm and no legs and has overcome many obstacles, thus serving as an inspiration to all. With tonight's midseason finale of The Walking Dead, fans are expecting showdowns between The Governor and Rick, Merle and Daryl, Michonne and Andrea, etc. Both the living and dead will likely be mutilated and beaten up pretty bad, and at the end of the hour, more questions will be left over.

In that spirit, we wanted to present Walking Dead leftovers; that is, bits and pieces from interviews with cast members - Andrew Lincoln, Norman Reedus, Michael Rooker, Steven Yeun, Lauren Cohan and creator Robert Kirkman - that we've just not gotten around to using yet. They cover a wide range of topics, but thought you might need an appetizer before tonight...

'Walking Dead's Andrew Lincoln, Chandler Riggs talk father, son relationship

The season three premiere of The Walking Dead showed a significant evolution of Andrew Lincoln's leader Rick Grimes, and his son Carl, played by Chandler Riggs. As Grimes said in the season two finale, the band of survivors of the zombie plague are not living in a democracy; eat and survive as a group by his rules, or risk being eaten on your own. This mentality is still in effect with the group moving quietly as a badass zombie-killing squad - and that includes Carl.

After spending the previous two seasons "in the house" with fans asking, "Where's Carl?" or, worse, demanding, "Kill Carl." But in the first five minutes of the premiere, we see a slightly older, shaggier Carl who has been turned into a boy soldier.

At New York Comic Con last weekend, the cast of The Walking Dead joined a select group of journalists to discuss the season. We'll be showing more of those interviews in the next few days, but the first is with Lincoln and Riggs, who discussed their characters' unique relationship with one another. The actors had a fun, easy rapport together as they chatted about the show.

Because he is a child actor, Riggs can only be on set 10 hours a day, while Lincoln revealed the rest of the cast has had to pull 18 and a half hour days. For that, Lincoln calls Riggs, "The most powerful person on set ... We have to work around his schedule." Lincoln is also incredibly complimentary about his young costar's acting ability (and jokes he had to train for years to get to Riggs' acting level).
