New Poster and Red Band Trailer for 'Stage Fright'

"Isn't it wrong to sing and dance when someone just died?" Nope! Apparently not in the new film "Stage Fright" which will debut next week at SXSW. Written and directed by Jerome Sable and starring Allie MacDonald, Douglas Smith, Brandon Uranowitz, Minnie Driver and Meat Loaf, "Stage Fright" will premiere at the 2014 SXSW Film Festival.

Magnet Releasing will release "Stage Fright" on iTunes/On Demand April 3, 2014 and in theaters May 9, 2014. In the meantime, check out the synopsis and then enjoy the Red Band trailer where not only are there an ample amount of kills, but a young man delightfully confuses bukkake with Kabuki.

Synopsis:
Starry-eyed teenager Camilla Swanson wants to follow in her mother's footsteps and become a Broadway diva, but she's stuck working in the kitchen of a snobby performing arts camp. Determined to change her destiny, she sneaks in to audition for the summer showcase and lands a lead role in the play, but just as rehearsals begin, blood starts to spill, and Camilla soon finds herself terrified by the horror of musical theatre.

UPDATED with Chris Fleming quote: Syfy renews 'Ghost Mine,' greenlights new paranormal reality series

OK, we're covering a lot of Syfy news the past couple days, but it's worthwhile, we promise.

Announced today, the network has renewed Ghost Mine -- the paranormal series set in a supposedly haunted gold mine -- for Season Two, which will return next September, and greenlit eight other unscripted series.

According to Variety, the new shows include three paranormal programs: Meat Loaf Rocks the Paranormal, "starring the famous musician, his two daughters and his son-in-law, Scott Ian of Anthrax traveling to America’s most famous and haunted locales." Also coming is Dead Famous, "a show that sets out to answer questions about celebrities who died young by collecting personal items and holding a séance."

If you'll remember, Dead Famous is the same name of the 2004-06 show co-hosted by psychic/medium Chris Fleming (also the son of Chicago Blackhawks hockey player Reggie Fleming). We're awaiting word on whether this is indeed a return of the show, and if Fleming will again be involved.

Also joining the paranormal lineup is Joe Rogan Questions Everything , premiering Tuesday, July 16 at 9 p.m. On the show, Syfy says "paranormal mystery-addict Joe Rogan ventures into unknown worlds and untapped territories to search for answers to life’s most startling theories ... to quench his curiosity for the unknown."

UPDATE: We here at PPC did reach Fleming about the program and his response was, "I am confused as anyone else." So as much as it sounds like the show he was involved in, it seems unlikely he is not attached to this.

Syfy 'Destination Truth' Live details

When we first reported about the Destination Truth Live St. Patrick's Day investigation, we speculated - a lot.

Now that the site for the DT Live episode/premiere has launched, the speculation is over and it would appear we were sorta right ... and pretty wrong.

We predicted Josh Gates & Co.'s investigation for the legendary banshee, which will take place at the famous Duckett's Grove Castle in Ireland, and begins at 7 p.m. EST, would feature some guest investigators. Such predicted guests were to include Allison Scagliotti from Warehouse 13, Amy Bruni from Ghost Hunters, McKenzie Westmore from reality competition Face Off, and Being Human werewolf costar Sam Huntington. It turns out those picks were all incorrect.


However, we were spot-on about guests Barry Fitzgerald, the Irish leader from Ghost Hunters International, his co-lead Kris Williams and former DT teammate (and current Fact or Faked investigator) Jael De Pardo.

So instead of focusing on our flaws and foibles, we will choose to gloat a bit because if para-fiend Meat Loaf thinks two out of three ain't bad, then we think he'd say the same about three out of seven.

UPDATE: As of March 8, Syfy announced Allison Scagliotti will indeed be joining DT Live.
