'Sin City: A Dame to Kill For' Red Band Trailer Released

The Red Band trailer for Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller's "Sin City: A Dame to Kill For" is now available (thanks to Machina) for us non-Comic-Con attendees to check out. This graphic-novel-come-to-life features some mega stars, mega violence and mega sexiness. It stars Josh Brolin as Dwight and Eva Green as love-interest-gone-horriby-bad, Ava Lord. It also stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Mickey Rourke, Jessica Alba, Bruce Willis, Powers Booth, Rosario Dawson, Jaime King, Lady Gaga (yep), Christopher Meloni, Jeremy Piven, Ray Liotta, and Stacy Keach. It hits theaters on August 22.

Let us know what you think. It's fun to look at and well, there are some killer babes, but will the film keep our attention past this trailer?

New 'From Dusk Till Dawn' Maze Coming to Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights

Halloween Horror Nights just got even more bite! Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Orlando Resort has teamed up with Robert Rodriguez to bring a "From Dusk Till Dawn" maze to their annual event. The supernatural series airs on the El Rey network, Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET. Do you think you're a match for the Culebras and Santanico Pandemonium? 'From Dusk Till Dawn' Reveals More with New Trailer

Recently we reported that 1996 cult classic "From Dusk Till Dawn" would be getting the TV treatment. With a "24" style format, the show will follow the eponymous Gecko brothers during their criminal and supernatural exploits. With an amazing cast featuring D. J. Cotrona and Zane Holtz, Robert Rodriguez returning to direct and Greg Nicotero directing the makeup, the new series is shaping up to be pretty fantastic.

Prospective viewers were previously treated to a quick glimpse of the show with a short teaser, but now the powers that be have provided a full two and a half minute trailer! It looks quite promising, so go ahead and check it out. If you want more, be sure to tune in on March 11 at 9 p.m. ET on the El Rey network for the series premiere.

Trailer and Premiere Date for 'From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series' Released

Robert Rodriguez is bringing a retelling of the 1996 cult classic "From Dusk Till Dawn" to the small screen. In an interview with critics at the TCA press tour, Rodriguez stated that “The film was the short story, this series is the novel.” The show's format will follow the Gecko brothers, Seth and Richie, for one full day from dusk until dawn.

The new TV series boasts a fantastic cast, with stars D.J. Cotrona, Zane Holtz, Wilmer Valderrama, Don Johnson, Adrianne Palicki, Jake Busey, Lane Garrison, Eiza Gonzalez and Jesse Garcia. The crew is just as incredible as the cast, featuring Rodriguez as director and Greg Nicotero overseeing the makeup.

The show will premiere on Rodriguez's newly launched television network, El Rey, which is an English language channel for Latinos. El Rey is featured on Time Warner Cable, DirecTV and Comcast, and you can catch the premiere of "From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series" on March 11, 2014 at 9 p.m. Until then, enjoy the trailer!

Sin City sequel signs up Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Josh Brolin

Remember that Sin City sequel Robert Rodriguez kept saying he was going to make year after year? Looks like it’s still rolling along, and with exciting casting news.

Courtesy Dread Central, we learned of the casting of Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Johnny (a role that was originally offered to Johnny Depp years ago). Also, Josh Brolin will be playing Clive Owen's character Dwight - before he had his faced altered, of course. This raises the question, will Owen return to play post-face surgery Dwight? We will have to wait and see.

The sequel is set to be released Oct. 4, 2013, by Dimension films, and production is already under way in Austin, Texas. The film will weave together tales from Frank Miller's graphic novels, along with new stories. The Dame story focuses on Dwight being hunted down by the only woman he ever loved, Ava Lord (as yet uncast). The story takes place prior to "The Big Fat Kill," which was featured in the original 2005 Sin City movie.

So far the film has assembled a cast including original actors Mickey Rourke as "Marv," Jessica Alba as "Nancy," Rosario Dawson as "Gail" and Jaime King as "Goldie/Wendy" with new cast members Dennis Haysbert as "Manute" and Jamie Chung as "Miho" joining the action.

The first film brought that black and white panel look to life, with accurately represented characters and scenes with a violent tone and classically appropriate soundtrack. I think it’s safe to assume that it will be the same style. After all, it wouldn’t really be Sin City without it.

Zombies vs. Vampires: Celebrity Undead Death Match

Within pop-culture, there are a lot of monsters, ghouls and maniacs out there that want to terrify us. Especially around Halloween, werewolves, demons, ghosts, mummies, maenads, fairies and half-dead men with hockey masks or razor claws make their presence known. But let’s face it, these beasts that go bump in the night lack a certain bite.

For the true masters of horror pop, one need look no further than the two reigning champs of chomps, vampires and zombies. More than any other, these creatures capture the imagination and inspire ferocious loyalty. Zombie lovers corpse-up, congregate in flash mobs and hijack constructions signs to read “Caution: Zombies Ahead.” Vamp fans wear molded ceramic fangs, make pilgrimages to New Orleans and Transylvania, and drink Tru Blood.

But really, which beast is best? The walking dead or undead? The brain eater or blood sucker? In order to settle the Zombie vs. Vampire debate, we’ve collected notable films of both genres from the last 25 years, and arranged them in different categories (emphasis on gore) to determine who each might triumph.

Although judgments on winners are completely subjective, I tried to channel George A. Romero and Bela Lugosi for guidance since they were incredibly influential in both genres. Lugosi starred as the count in the first official version of Dracula in 1931; he also gave the world the grandfather of the zombie movies, White Zombie, in 1932. Meanwhile, Romero remains the reigning genius of the zombie genre after directing 1968’s Night of the Living Dead. Romero also contributed heavily to vampires on screen with the underrated deconstruction Martin (1978).
