Will The Governor Be Returning to 'The Walking Dead?'

Last week in a TVGuide Q&A, a little spoiler about the mid-season premiere of "The Walking Dead" was dropped. Despite the episode being described as very Carl and Rick-oriented, it indicated that a character we thought met his demise, would be returning. Wait...what?

Here's exactly what was written:

Do you have any scoop on the return of "The Walking Dead?" — Damon
Don't expect to see too many familiar faces since Rick and Carl take center stage when the AMC drama returns. While Rick heals from his beating from The Governor — whom you will see again — Carl will lose something very important to him. (No, not his innocence!) In other news, it won't be long before this mystery is blown wide open.

Now we don't suspect that The Governor is a zombie, per se, but that he'll be one of very-badly-hurt-Rick's hallucinations. This seems to be the popular belief and since Rick has a history of hallucinations, this would make sense. Also, since executive producer, Gale Anne Hurd re-tweeted the TVGuide spoiler via The Examiner, it indicates that the powers that be want this tidbit to get out there.

So there you have it. The Governor will be showing up again but we'll just have to tune in this Sunday to find out how, where, and if he'll still be the mega-villain he was when he was breathing. Sound off with your thoughts!

Previews For 'The Walking Dead' Midseason Finale: 'Too Far Gone'

It looks like a show-down is in the works for the midseason finale of "The Walking Dead." The promo shown on "The Talking Dead" indicates major strife and the scary fact that The Governor could convert even the kindest of souls into a killing machine. Based on "Dead Weight," Philip Blake, or Brian Heriot, or whatever we're calling him now, is apparently back and ready to take over...and he has a tank.

The sneak peek indicates that zombies will venture into water to get some meat. Oh and little Megan needs to not be so curious. We get it, you're a child, but stop digging around during the zombie apocalypse!

Do you think the folks we know and love in the prison could succeed and maintain their stronghold? Is Glen feeling better? Will Carl kick major ass? Oh the questions!

Sneak Peek at 'The Walking Dead:' 'Dead Weight'

Whether you loved or hated the last episode of "The Walking Dead," it looks like The Governor is sticking around for some more screen time. Thanks to a generous and somewhat telling sneak peek at the next episode, we see "Brian" walking through the woods with Martinez and two other men. They happen upon an unfortunate soul deemed a liar, but where are they? More importantly, or not, where are Tara, Lilly and Megan?

'The Walking Dead' Recap: 'Live Bait'

My, my, my. The Governor looks sad on this episode, but don’t let that fool you. You know that there’s an evil psycho lurking underneath the surface. Unlike our pals at the prison, he has not located a good barber in the area. He’s in desperate need of a trim.

As he’s lurking around an abandoned city, he sees a girl in a window. The Governor being the Governor goes up to the apartment and finds two women and a girl. One of the women, Tara, is a real hard-ass, but she doesn’t understand that she’s dealing with a Grade-A maniac.

Tara’s sister, Lilly, is a little nicer and gives him some of their food, but you know old Brian, err, the Governor. He hurls it out the window. He doesn’t want to eat their slop when he can feast on what appears to be sardines. It turns out that there’s a decrepit old man in there with the women, but he doesn’t look like he’s of much use. I’m glad they explain why they have so much food and supplies. Decrepit Daddy drove a food truck that they are sourcing their food from, ANNNNNNDDDD, they also scavenged a bunch of oxygen for the old man.

I can already tell, 16 minutes in, that this episode is going to be on the slow side. They’re trying to reestablish the Governor as a character but in the slowest way possible. Maybe I’m a little crazy, but I prefer to see his psycho side.
