Neil Marshall to Direct 'Constantine' Pilot

The live action adaptation of DC Comic's "Constantine" has finally found the man to direct the pilot. Deadline reports that Neil Marshall, known for "Doomsday" and "The Descent," will be taking the helm of NBC's upcoming project. Marshall most recently directed the opening sequence and third episode for Michael Bay's pirate drama "Black Sails" on Starz, and is set to direct an episode of the new season of "Game of Thrones."

For those unfamiliar with the title, "Constantine" centers on John Constantine, an enigmatic and irreverent con man-turned-reluctant supernatural detective who is thrust into the role of defending us against dark forces from beyond. The pilot will be written by Daniel Cerone, who penned the original story with David S. Goyer.

Currently there is no word on when the show will air, but we will keep you posted!

DC's 'iZombie' Gets Pilot Order from the CW

A few months back there were whispers that DC Comics' "iZombie" was set to hit television screens, and now it has been announced that the CW has ordered a pilot. According to Deadline, Rob Thomas and Diane Ruggiero are reuniting after their success on "Veronica Mars" to co-write and executive produce the pilot.

Based off of the 2010 comic book series by Michael Allred and Chris Roberson, which was originally published by DC's Vertigo imprint,  "iZombie is a supernatural crime procedural that centers on a med student-turned-zombie who takes a job in the coroner’s office to gain access to the brains she must reluctantly eat to maintain her humanity. But with each brain she consumes, she inherits the corpse’s memories, and with the help of her medical examiner boss and a police detective, she solves homicide cases in order to quiet the disturbing voices in her head."

With the project in the early stages of development, there is no casting news as of yet. While a pilot has been ordered, there is also no guarantee that the network will order a full season, however the CW and DC seem to have had a pretty great run on past collaborations. Fox's 'Gotham' to Feature Classic Characters

Fox's new drama "Gotham" just got a little more interesting. Originally described as an origin story of Commissioner James Gordon, it seems as if things have changed.

Initially, the show had little to do with Bruce Wayne, but Fox Chairman Kevin Reilly revealed some new twists during an interview at the Television Critics Association press tour. Not only will audiences be getting a healthy dose of the future hero of Gotham, they will also be getting insight into the villains as well.

"We see Detective Gordon, before he's a commissioner, all the characters you know, Bruce Wayne, the Penguin, all of them. It's Gotham teetering on the edge, and we see what makes these characters become who they are, [like] Catwoman. It's an operatic soap that has a slightly larger-than-life quality to it," Reilly stated.
