New "Ghostbusters" Trailer Breaks a YouTube Record

Paul Feig's upcoming "Ghostbusters" movie has broken a YouTube record; officially becoming the most DISLIKED movie trailer in the history of the website. Released in March, the trailer currently has over 30 million views.

However, the video has received nearly 700,000 dislikes to a disproportionate (and paltry in comparison) 227,455 likes. It's by no means the most disliked video on YouTube, however. It currently sits at the 18th most disliked video overall. The first place honor belongs to Justin Beiber's tune, "Baby."

If you think that the trailer is only disliked by die-hard "Ghostbusters" fans, mansplainers or...me, you would be mistaken. Star of the film, Melissa McCarthy, isn't a fan of the trailer either.

"It's a reboot. It's weird that they said the '30 years ago' because in the movie the first ["Ghostbusters"] didn't happen. [...]The trailer said 30 years later, which I didn't get myself...believe me, the question was asked. I was like 'I think that's very confusing,' but then everyone said 'we don't care what you think,'" the actress stated on JohnJay and Rich.

M. Night Shyamalan to Take on "Tales From the Crypt"

According to TheWrap, M. Night Shyamalan and TNT will be resurrecting the cult-classic horror anthology, "Tales From the Crypt."

TNT reports that Shyamalan will be serving as executive producer for the upcoming 2 hour horror block. The segment featuring the Tales From the Crypt remake will have both new and original stories, in addition to an "American Horror Story"-esque one hour anthology and other content.

While this sounds alright in theory, Bloody Disgusting has reported a potentially major detractor to fans of the original.

No Crypt Keeper. Everyone's favorite deadtime story teller,voiced by John Kassir, was created for the HBO show and the network still owns the rights to the character. Kassir himself took to Twitter to share his opinion on the matter, saying:

This doesn't bode well...

This isn't to say that there won't be a new character stepping into his coffin. In fact, a hooded old man will be spinning yarns in front of a fireplace. Sounds very "Night Gallery," but it's not too far off from the classic EC comics.

While this is all new information, a lot could change between now and the release of the show. However, the feelings are overwhelming waves of 'meh.'

Is Ecto-Cooler Making a Come Back?

If you grew up in the late 80s/early 90s, getting a box of Hi-C Ecto-Cooler in your lunchbox alongside your Doritos was pretty much the best thing in the entire world. The acid slime green, orange-tangerine flavored "juice" was originally released in 1987 as a tie-in to "The Real Ghostbusters," a cartoon spin-off of the 1984 hit film. Even though the cartoon went off the air in 1991, Coca-Cola changed the name (Shoutin' Orange TangerGreen, then Crazy Citrus Cooler, boo) and kept the popular drink on the shelves until 2001. In 2007, after waning interest, the sugary drink was discontinued entirely.

In a case of "You don't know what you've got til it's gone," the adults who enjoyed the beverage as kids began coming up with their own recipes to recreate the citrusy drink. (I've tried a couple, but my favorite will die with me!) Soon after, merchandise began popping up. From sweatshirts to candles (which I own), Ecto-Cooler mania was in full effect. Ardmore's Tired Hands Brewing even released the NectoCooler Beer in August. Unsurprisingly, it sold out almost immediately, which was a huge disappointment to West Coast fans of both Ecto-Cooler AND booze. I am still incredibly disappointed in my hometown (Portland, OR aka BeerSnoblandia) for not doing this first. ONE JOB GUYS, COME ON.

Get your own at Horror Decor. Smells like Slimer. Probably.

Social media accounts, hashtags, etc have all been pushing for the return of the original Ghostbusters beverage and now...this is not a drill...that could very well become reality. Coca-Cola, parent company to EC's Minute Maid, recently filed a trademark for the Ecto-Cooler. While it's not much info, it's pretty exciting. With a Ghostbuster remake coming out in July of 2016, this could be a pretty smart tie-in to the new movie. Which, if it's true, is the best thing that will come from the Feigbusters, if you ask me. (You didn't, but there you have it.)

New Poster and Trailer Released For 'Poltergeist'

A new trailer and poster for the Poltergeist remake has just been released by 20th Century Fox and we get more of a glimpse into just how similar the film is, plot-wise, to the original. I actually have high hopes for this film.

Legendary filmmaker Sam Raimi (“Spiderman,” “Evil Dead”, “The Grudge”) and director Gil Kenan (“Monster House”) contemporize the classic tale about a family whose suburban home is haunted by evil forces. When the terrifying apparitions escalate their attacks and hold the youngest daughter captive, the family must come together to rescue her before she disappears forever.

The cast includes: Sam Rockwell (Eric Bowen), Rosemarie DeWitt (Amy Bowen), Saxon Sharbino (Kendra Bowen), Kyle Catlett (Griffin Bowen), Jared Harris (Carrigan), and Kennedi Clements (Madison Bowen).

Poltergeist will be released in theaters on May 22, 2015. The film will be available in 3D because who doesn't want to see that creepy-ass clown coming at your face?

'Rosemary's Baby' Recap: Part II

I'm really not sure what I was expecting for the "Rosemary's Baby" finale but this certainly wasn't it: good guys die, bad guys win and the Borg assimilated the rest. Let's do this.

Picking up where we left off Sunday night, Rosemary and Guy compare battle scars. Maybe the orgy wasn't in her head after all. You know, I'm pretty sure the body fluid opening is the same one used in "Look Who's Talking" and that's not necessarily a good thing.

The Commish reviews the footage of Hoodie's gory demise and something or someone catches his eye. He's gonna be in hot pursuit now.

Having girl time with Julie, Rosemary confesses that she and Guy have been going through a dry spell since the night of the forgotten orgy. Catching a glimpse of Julie's gold cross, she doubles over in pain though it could also be due to the coffee. Know what's a great way to feel better? Touring the Paris catacomb where she passes out due to abdominal  pain. I'm just going to put this out there: Rosemary makes incredibly poor decisions. Turns out she's not allergic to crosses or lactose intolerant: she's just pregnant.

Sam Raimi's Ghost House Pictures to Reboot 'The Grudge'

Deadline recently reported that "The Grudge," the American remake of Takashi Shimizu's Japanese "Ju-On," will be getting a reboot. This time around, Good Universe and Ghost House Pictures are relaunching the franchise, with Jeff Buhler set to write up a draft.

The American version was released in 2004 and starred Sarah Michelle Gellar as a nurse in Tokyo that suffered at the hands of an evil, and fatal, curse. The Shimizu-directed remake only cost about $10 million to make, which is a relatively low budget. The film went on to gross $187 million worldwide and spawned two sequels. Set to produce the film are Sam Raimi, Rob Tapert and Taka Ichise, with Roy Lee, Joe Drake, Nathan Kahane and Doug Davison executive producing. Currently, there is no director attached to the project, but maybe Shimizu will return to the helm once again?

While it's only been ten years since the release of the American, the success of Raimi's "Evil Dead" reboot is definitely something to keep in mind. They're Heeeeere! 'Poltergeist' Remake Gets a Release Date

The reboot of Tobe Hooper's classic "Poltergeist," directed by Gil Keenan and produced by Sam Raimi, will be hitting theaters Friday February 13, 2015. What could be better than a little Valentine's scare?

For those who aren't up to date on the news, here is the official synopsis from MGM and Fox:

In a revisionist take on the classic horror film, a family struggling to make ends meet relocates to an outdated suburban home and is confronted by an angry spirit who kidnaps their youngest daughter and challenges them to band together to rescue her from the clutches of evil.

Sam Rockwell, Rosemarie DeWitt, Saxon Sharbino, Kyle Catlett and Kennedi Clements star as the Bowen family, or the Freelings 2.0, with Jarred Harris joining as television host, Carrigan Burke and recently added, Jane Adams as Dr. Powell, a paranormal expert. Rumor has it that the Bowen family will be joined in their "new" home by a cast member from the original 1982 film...curious? Check it out, after the jump!

News on the 'Pin' Remake

In 2011, it looked as if the 1988 horror flick, Pin, was headed towards a remake, but nothing ever came to fruition. Fast forward a few years, and it looks as if the creepy doll will be brought back to life this year!

According to Bloody Disgusting, director of the original film, Sandor Stern, will be returning to direct and co-write the remake with Jack Reher and Nicholas Bogner acting as producer. This time around, the team will be basing the film off of Andrew Neiderman's book of the same name. The original film starred Terry O'Quinn, and for those who haven't seen it, here is a brief plot summary:

Meet Pin, a harmless mute and lifeless fantasy in little Leon's mind - a fantasy that initially took form when Leon's father imparted life lessons to him through the use of an anatomical dummy. At first a source of amusement and comfort, Pin demonically evolves into the object of Leon's mad fixation. Soon, Leon and Pin quietly but thoroughly eliminate anyone who intrudes into their private world.
