International Trailer for James Wan's 'Demonic'

Movies about demons, possession, inhuman spirits and the like are a dime a dozen these days but when James Wan (The Conjuring) is attached (get it? attached? never mind) I'll take an interest. The international trailer for Demonic was recently released and even though it has the usual suspects (pretty people looking for paranormal activity), it may have some redeeming qualities.

The film is directed by Will Canon with the story by Wan and stars Maria Bello as a psychologist and Frank Grillo as a police detective. They're investigating the "deaths of five people who were killed while trying to summon ghosts." The trailer offers some genuinely creepy footage but we want your opinion. Have you had your fill of demons or are you rooting for Hollywood to keep possessing theaters? We're still waiting on a release date for Demonic, but we'll keep you posted.

Honest Trailers Tackles 'Saw'

As Halloween approaches, we're thankful that Screen Junkies just released a new Honest Trailer that tackles a horror film. This time, they've taken on the 2003 James Wan film, "Saw." From lauding the film as having "the traps of Willy Coyote with the terrifying puppetry of Jeff Dunham" and mocking the acting of screenwriter and co-star, Leigh Whannel, they did a pretty nice job with this one. They've even sprinkled in a little grossness from its six sequels so that was fun. Is it one of the funnier Honest Trailers? You be the judge...

New Trailer Released for 'Annabelle'

Warner Bros. has released a trailer for "Annabelle" and we're sure it'll conjure up some goosebumps. Maybe? "Annabelle" is sort of a prequel to last summer's paranormal mega-hit, "The Conjuring" but it doesn't really have a heck of a lot to do with the story. The film hits theaters on October 3 and stars Annabelle Wallis (what a delightfully creepy coincidence!), Ward Horton, and Alfre Woodard. "Annabelle" is directed by John R. Leonetti with James Wan returning as one of the producers.

Plot details are pretty scarce so check out the trailer and see what you can glean from the glimpse. It doesn't look too pleasant but when you're dealing with possession and a creepy doll, unpleasantness comes with the territory. Oh and by the way, "The Conjuring" is in the works to be back for a sequel in 2015.

'The Conjuring' Sequel Gets Release Date

According to "The Hollywood Reporter," New Line and Warner Bros. have announced "The Conjuring 2" will open Oct. 23, 2015. The movie is a sequel to last summer's paranormal horror hit, focusing on a case from famous ghost hunters Ed and Lorraine Warren (and uncle/aunt to John Zaffis). Additionally, New Line/Warner has Oct. 3 2015 slotted for another untitled horror film, which THR speculates might be "Annabelle," "The Conjuring" spinoff movie, which we reported on back in November.

Of course, this would be a potentially cool, and potentially risky, move for Warner to release two movies from the same franchise in the same month. But currently, the studios don't have a lot of scary competition that month, aside from Guillermo Del Toro's gothic horror "Crimson Peak," which opens Oct. 16, 2015.

Also, details emerged last August that the sequel -- which was greenlit swiftly after the first movie picked up $41 million its opening weekend -- would send the Warrens to England. That may remain true, but it would appear James Wan will not be returning to helm the next installment. In fact, there isn't yet any director announced for the film.

'Insidious: Chapter 2' Tops Box Office and Gets a Third Film

James Wan's latest horror film, "Insidious: Chapter 2" banked $41 million in its opening weekend. This is a massive feat for a horror movie. Upon the sequel's success, Blumhouse Productions and eOne have announced that they are going forward with a third installment in the franchise.

Recently, Wan sat down for an interview with MovieFone and revealed that "Insidious: Chapter 2" would be his last foray into the horror genre, "I'm going to go on record and say I am finished with the horror genre. 'The Conjuring' and 'Insidious: Chapter 2' are my two last scary movies. I spent the last ten years of my life doing this. It's time for a change, for goodness sake!I'm going to go on record and say I am finished with the horror genre."

While Wan won't be returning to direct "Insidious 3," don't worry, series co-creator and co-writer, Leigh Whannell ("Saw, "Insidious," "Insidious: Chapter 2"), has officially signed on to pen the upcoming third chapter. Jason Blum will also be returning to produce.

If you have a web cam, want to take part in a little seance fun, and want a sneak peek at the new James Wan film Insidious: Chapter 2 , you’re in luck.

In a new promo for the film’s Sept. 13 release, you can participate in a seance by clicking here ... if you dare. It’ll prompt you to enable your web cam and when the psychic rolls the dice and you see the secret message, you’ll proceed. You may disturb some nasty fiends, so beware.

You can even share your seance experience on social media but I’m pretty sure I look more demonic on my video than the spirits, so I passed.

New Trailer for 'Insidious: Chapter 2'

The sequel to James Wan's 2010 horror hit, Insidious is being released in theaters on Friday, September 13 but you can check out the new trailer here.

Insidious: Chapter 2 brings us back into the lives of the Lamberts as they discover their terrifying family connection to the spirit world. Directed by Wan, Rose Byrne, Patrick Wilson (The Conjuring), Lin Shaye, and Ty Simpkins reprise their roles.

'Insidious' to Premiere on FEARnet this September 8

Thanks to FEARnet acquiring the broadcast premiere rights, the network will air James Wan's 2011 horror hit, Insidious, on September 8 at 8 p.m. ET.

Starring Patrick Wilson (The Conjuring) and Rose Byrne (X-Men: First Class), Insidious will also be available on VOD starting Wednesday, September 11.

Insidious introduces audiences to Josh (Wilson) and Renai Lambert (Byrne). After a mysterious incident in the attic, their son, Dalton (Ty Simpkins), falls into a coma. The family's situation declines as Dalton's illness results in terrifying encounters with malevolent ghouls, and a journey into the realm of the dead known as “The Further.”

Wan enjoyed great success this past weekend with The Conjuring, (it topped the box office with $41.5 million), and with his September 13 release of FilmDistrict’s Insidious: Chapter 2 (in which Wilson, Byrne, and Simpkins will reprise their roles), the network is excited to showcase his work.
