Nirvana Comes to 'American Horror Story: Freak Show'

If you tuned in for this week's "American Horror Story: Freak Show" episode, "Test of Strength," you got a little taste of Nirvana. Bringing some Cobain to Jupiter, 'Jimmy Darling' belted out a nice tribute with "Come As You Are" as we got to see what's up with other members of the cast.

Check out the tune below and let us know what you think of Ryan Murphy incorporating music into this season. The actual scene would have been cool to share but damn it, Evan Peters does a great tribute. Updated...after the recording, we've embedded a fan-made video of the actual scene.

We do hope you like the addition of songs to the show because there's more to come. According to The Huffington Post, Kathy Bates will be singing Hole's "Doll Parts" in an upcoming episode. The songs from the series are available for download on iTunes.

Tune in to the next episode on December 3, with the delightful title, "Blood Bath." The mid-season finale is December 17 but the series quickly returns on January 7 with "Magical Thinking."

'American Horror Story: Freak Show' Set to Get Freakier with Casting News

This season of Ryan Murphy's "American Horror Story: Freak Show" gets better with each episode, so prepare to be dazzled when some new faces show up under the big top. TV Line announced yesterday that Neil Patrick Harris, along with his husband David Burtka, will be guest starring in this season of the dark, FX drama.

Harris will be appearing as a chameleon salesman in episodes 11 and 12, with Burtka showing up in episode 13 to bring a little steamy action to Elsa Mars. While it is absolutely thrilling that Harris and Burtka will be guest starring, my excitement shot through the roof upon learning a familiar face was being resurrected.

Lily Rabe will be returning to the American Horror Story realm as Sister Mary Eunice of Asylum. According to Entertainment Weekly, "The reason for Sister Mary’s return involves Pepper (Naomi Grossman) and how she ended up going from the freak show to Asylum‘s titular institution, Briarcliff. Rabe’s appearance will be on AHS‘ 10th episode, which is their big winter cliffhanger."

Jessica Lange Covers Lana Del Rey's 'Gods and Monsters' on 'Freak Show'

Elsa Mars (Jessica Lange) vainly performed on Halloween and ended up serenading both the living and the dead with her cover of Lana Del Rey's "Gods and Monsters." A dark stranger appearing was promised to her by Emma Roberts, aka Maggie Esmerelda the scheming fortune teller, and damn it...she was correct. Two-faced Edward Mordrake (Wes Bentley) proved to be not just an urban legend when the prophesy of a freak performing on Halloween would summon his murderous spirit, came true.

'American Horror Story' Renewed For Fifth Installment

On the heels of a stellar fourth season premiere, FX is bringing back its Ryan Murphy-created anthology series, "American Horror Story," for a fifth installment. There is still a ton of Freak Show left but we can only speculate what the fifth season will entail. A haunted house, an asylum, a coven of witches, a freak show and...(insert your guess here).

Producer Ryan Murphy’s Emmy and Golden Globe Award-winning anthology miniseries “American Horror Story” has paid big dividends as his newest installment, “American Horror Story: Freak Show,” has broken all ratings records for FX with its premiere episode last Wednesday night (10/8/14).

In light of that record-setting performance, FX has rewarded “American Horror Story” with a 13-episode order for the fifth and next installment of the show, which will debut in October 2015, it was announced today by John Landgraf, CEO, FX Networks and FX Productions.

How 'bout that freak show last night? Between the charming clown with the non-stop smile and sweet and sassy Dot and Bette (played by the amazing Sarah Paulson), it was a glorious spectacle. One of the highlights from the show was Jessica Lange as Elsa Mars stepping onto her stage and doing a glittery rendition of David Bowie's "Life on Mars" complete with a freakishly good orchestra. Too bad her audience was just two a-holes.

Thank you Ryan Murphy and thank you to Entertainment Weekly for this exclusive clip of the performance. "American Horror Story: Freak Show" returns next Wednesday at 10 p.m. on FX with the Alfonso Gomez-Rejon-directed episode, "Massacres and Matinees."

FX Releases Opening Credits for 'American Horror Story: Freak Show'

New Trailer for 'American Horror Story: Freak Show' Offers First Footage

Where are the freaks? I'm getting bored. 

Hold tight, the wait is almost over. October 8 is around the corner and a brand new 60-second trailer featuring real footage from "American Horror Story: Freak Show" has just been released. We get to go behind the scenes of Fraulein Elsa Mars' Cabinet of Curiosities and her collection is quite impressive. From a two-headed Dot and Bette to Pepper the Pinhead to the world's smallest lady in a birdcage, "Let's hope they start bringing in some paying customers."

Oh and we get our first look at Twisty the Clown in action. He's super murdery...just as we expected. Your ticket gets ripped on Wednesday, October 8 at 10 p.m. on FX. Best part? The episode will be 90-minutes long.

Meet 'Twisty the Clown' From 'American Horror Story: Freak Show' Plus New Teaser

The most prevalent comment I've encountered so far about the upcoming season of "American Horror Story: Freak Show" is "I've loved the show so far but...I hate clowns!" Well, then maybe you should just stop reading here because according to an exclusive over at BuzzFeed, Twisty the Clown is promised to be “the most terrifying clown of all time” and may potentially cause "cardiac arrest." Excellent.

During a visit to the set in New Orleans, show creator, Ryan Murphy, provided some ominous hints at what's in store for the season, right off the bat:

“We said in the writer’s room that if we were going to do clowns, we were going to create the most terrifying clown of all time. That was our goal when we were writing him, but I’m worried about people being too afraid of our clown. It’s heart-stopping what he does. I’m worried. I’m worried that people are going to have cardiac arrests… The clown’s intro in the first episode is … even I was terrified of it. It’s brutal. Two crew members told me they have had nightmares about this clown since we started shooting and they’re not even scared of clowns. I think he’s pretty extraordinary because, when you see why he’s a clown and why he’s wearing the mask … just you wait.”

Yet another teaser for "American Horror Story: Freak Show" has reared it's creepy head and this one has undertones of Slenderman. Perhaps? He wasn't around when the series takes place but there's just something about an extra tall, slim man holding a little girl's hand that is reminiscent of the urban myth. Check out "Extremes" and lets us know if you agree. We're banking on quite a few extremes starting on October 8.

'Pepper' Will Be Part of 'American Horror Story: Freak Show'

The cast of "American Horror Story: Freak Show" just keeps getting better and fans of the second 'series' of the program, "Asylum," are going to love this news. Everyone's favorite pinhead (sorry, Schlitzie), Pepper (Naomi Grossman), will be featured in the new season. The rumor, which emerged in July thanks to a call sheet, was recently confirmed thanks to an exclusive over at Entertainment Weekly.

The cast addition was confirmed by co-creator, Ryan Murphy when he stated, “She is in this [season]." EW and Murphy go on to explain the role:

Pepper is one of the members of the titular group of entertainers, managed by Elsa Mars (Jessica Lange). Explains Murphy, “What Elsa has done for 20 years is she goes around to hospitals and jails and rescues these ‘freak’ circus performers who are going to be shipped away to asylums and she signs the waivers and she becomes their guardians.” This season of AHS takes place in 1952, a good 12 years before the events of Asylum. So Freak Show, according to Murphy, “is sort of like what happened to Pepper before she went to the asylum.”

Murphy also says that the decision was not an easy one, “We thought about it long and hard and we decided that it was interesting to do.”

So are you excited to see the Pepper prequel? It's only right that she's part of the cast! The series premieres on FX on Wednesday, October 8 at 10 p.m. ET.

We finally have an official full trailer for "American Horror Story: Freak Show" and being a Voyeur has never been more interesting. With "Carousel" by Melanie Martinez playing, we get to check out what's under the tent. Kathy Bates gets her beard groomed; Michael Chiklis pumps some iron; Angela Bassett has an amazing décolleté, Sarah Paulson looks exceptionally beautiful with two heads; Evan Peters is making the ladies swoon; and, Jessica Lange is looking quite chic in her Big Top-inspired couture.

'American Horror Story: Freak Show' Teaser: 'Sword Swallower'

FX promises "Our freaks put the fear deep inside you." and with their latest teaser trailer for "American Horror Story: Freak Show," this promise seems to ring true. A heavily tattooed dude with some body mods deep throats a sword and maybe folks will wonder if this makes one a true "freak?" Freaks are either born or self-made, trained artists. Don't argue, just enjoy the show. At least he's not a creepy clown with a mouth full of pointy teeth!

FX is putting these out quickly but will this be the last one? They are all available to watch on FX's YouTube if you need a refresher.

Perfect. Another clown teaser for "American Horror Story: Freak Show." Or is this one the "official" look at the monster that's sure to haunt your dreams starting October 8 at 10 p.m.? Newest Teaser for 'American Horror Story: Freak Show' Swings By

Want to take a peek under the Bigtop in this new teaser for "American Horror Story: Freak Show?" "Spotlight" is certainly not as creepy as the last teaser but we're pleased that FX is releasing at least a little gander at what we might expect from the fourth installment.

The Freak Show swings on by on Wednesday, October 8 at 10 p.m. and will be set in Florida in the 1950's. It will feature: Sarah Paulson; recent Emmy winners, Jessica Lange and Kathy Bates, Angela Bassett, Michael Chiklis, Evan Peters, Emma Roberts, and Denis O’Hare.

"Lick" Up the Second Teaser Trailer for "American Horror Story: Freak Show"

The teasers for "American Horror Story: Freak Show" are parading in and if this second one is any indication of the level of creepy, we're more than a little excited. Will they keep getting progressively creepier? Fingers crossed.

The first teaser rolled out a couple of days ago and now we've been treated to a "Lick." Enjoy the split (or to be technical, bifurcated) tongue and sorry if you start to crave sweets all day. You wanted to look away but couldn't, didn't you?
