TV Guide Makes a Video Highlighting Fox Mulder's Naughty Addiction

Mulder sure loved videos! But not as much as he loved Scully.

Any true X-Phile knows about Fox Mulder's penchant for porn and to pay homage, TV Guide published a video called "X-Files Supercut: Mulder's Porn Addiction!" Thanks, TV Guide! Here's a little bit of what they had to say about Foxy's second love...

The SIZL channel, phone sex hotlines, Celebrity Skin - The X-Files hero doesn't discriminate when it comes to his XXX entertainment. And whenever Mulder has a break from dismantling clandestine conspiracies and uncovering the truth about extraterrestrial life, you can bet your I Want to Believe poster he's spending it wrist-deep in porn.

Any whoooo...I wonder if he'll have the same interests in the new six-episode series that premieres Sunday, January 24 after the NFC Championship game and then continues on Monday the 25th in its normal time slot of 8 p.m. ET? 'The X-Files' is Officially Returning For Six Episodes

The truth is finally out there! The X-Files will indeed be returning to Fox as a limited six-episode series. This was confirmed over at Entertainment Weekly and they also confirm that, after a 13-year break, David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson will be reprising their roles as Fox Mulder and Dana Scully.

Series creator Chris Carter will also be back and states, “I think of it as a 13-year commercial break. The good news is the world has only gotten that much stranger, a perfect time to tell these six stories.”

Only six? Sorry, guys. EW speculates that this will most likely mean these will be stand-alone versus conspiracy episodes. Since the world has indeed gotten stranger, coming up with creepy ideas will be no problem. Let's just hope they're fresh and introduce some new nightmares into our lives.

Dana Walden and Gary Newman, Chairmen and CEOs of Fox Television Group commented on the order, “We had the privilege of working with Chris on all nine seasons of The X-Files – one of the most rewarding creative experiences of our careers – and we couldn’t be more excited to explore that incredible world with him again. The X-Files was not only a seminal show for both the studio and the network, it was a worldwide phenomenon that shaped pop culture – yet remained a true gem for the legions of fans who embraced it from the beginning. Few shows on television have drawn such dedicated fans as The X-Files, and we’re ecstatic to give them the next thrilling chapter of Mulder and Scully they’ve been waiting for.”

We don't yet have a release date but we do know that production is scheduled to begin this summer. According to the William B. Davis Facebook page, this was just posted: "Get ready folks! 'Someone' was contacted about availability. Not saying who but this could get really interesting!" So it looks like the Cigarette Smoking/Cancer Man might be back? Would we then get at least one conspiracy/Syndicate episode? Hardcore fans demand this!

'The X-Files' TV Reboot Soon to Get the Fox Greenlight?

It was a cold January 17 in 2015 when the news broke of the possibility of a resurrection of the Fox supernatural series, The X-Files. Fans of the show got all excited at the possibility of a Mulder and Scully reunion, but thanks to the busy schedules of David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson, we filed it under, "Probably not, but damn it would be cool."

Now an exclusive over at TV Wise reveals that this reunion really happen and it is close to becoming a reality. The report states:

Fox is close to giving an official green-light to a revival of their iconic science fiction series, which originally aired between 1993 and 2002. Per sources, the network has settled on a "short-stack" order for the revival and while the exact size of the order is yet-to-be-determined, I’m told it will be less than ten episodes (though I can’t confirm the Daily Mail’s report that it will be six). It should be stressed, however, that talks with sister studio 20th Century Fox Television are still on-going.

Unresolved story lines plan to be addressed but they're still working out the kinks of the Anderson and Duchovny scheduling issues. They mention that production will hopefully begin this summer. Good news is, Chris Carter will be returning to to pen the scripts and serve as an executive producer.

Despite the lack of a comment from the big wigs at Fox, TV Wise reports that, "According to sources, Fox is aiming to make a 'big announcement' just ahead of their upfront presentation in New York City this coming May."

I hope I'm not jinxing this project by saying that I have a good feeling about this actually happening. I'm not sure it'll work or quell the cravings of us X-Philes, but I think we'll be seeing what's up with Dana and Fox in the near future. Don't fight it. See what I did there? (crickets)

Fox Confirms Talks of an 'X-Files' Reboot

In yet another attempt to jump on the reboot wagon, the powers that be over at Fox look like they may want to capture again the magic that was "The X-Files." The series was quite a supernatural hit and ran from 1993-2002. This old gal may have been a little obsessed with the show and shed a tear or two thousand when it ended so this is good news, right? Maybe?

Entertainment Weekly reports that, "...the network’s leadership says they are seriously chasing a reboot of The X-Files..." The good news is, they (meaning Fox chairman and CEOs Dana Walden and Gary Newman) want Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny back as Agents Scully and Mulder as well as series creator, Chris Carter to be on board. Bad news is, these are busy folks who have have other projects to which they must attend.

Gary Newman confirmed, "It’s true that we’ve had some conversations on X-Files. We’re hopeful of being able to bring that back at some point.” Dana Walden added, "Gary and I both worked [at 20th Century Fox Television] through the entire run of 'The X Files.' It was a great experience. We’ve maintained good relationships with Chris, David and Gillian. We’re very hopeful, but it’s hard. The actors are very busy. They have a lot going on. Chris has a lot on his plate, so it’s just trying to carve out the time."

So, the discussion has been confirmed but that's about it at this point. Contractual obligations must be cleared but should this happen at all? When "The X-Files" aired, it was a pretty novel show and there really weren't many fictional, hour-long shows airing at this time. Now there are plenty from which to choose. Sound familiar, "Ghostbusters" reboot people? Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see what Mulder and Scully are up to but maybe they should just continue to live in our imaginations?

David Duchovny to Star in New Charles Manson NBC Drama 'Aquarius'

It looks like David Duchovny is back on the hunt for the truth and this time, it's on NBC in a new period drama called "Aquarius." Variety is reporting that "The X-Files" and "Californication" star will portray ..."a police detective on the trail of the Los Angeles-area hippie cult leader who turns out to be Charles Manson."

From ITV Studios and Marty Adelstein Productions, "Aquarius" is a 13-episode straight-to-series order that has John McNamara on deck as both writer and executive producer along with Duchovny, Marty Adelstein and Melanie Greene.

According to Variety, the series will take place in the late 1960s and revolve around Duchovny's character of a "Los Angeles police sergeant with a complicated personal life. His character and "...his younger partner begin tracking a small-time criminal who specializes in luring vulnerable young women to his 'cause.'"

They also report that "Aquarius" will initially focus on the early part of Manson's "twists and turns" but will save the horrors he commanded in August 1969 for subsequent seasons.

'X-Files' New York Comic Con Recap

After their blockbuster appearance at San Diego Comic-Con last July, the 20th anniversary tour of "The X-Files" continued at New York Comic Con last Sunday. Stars David Duchovny (Agent Mulder) and Gillian Anderson (Agent Scully) once again took the stage to discuss their time on the show and possibly another movie.

The panel began with the attendees singing happy birthday to showrunner (not in attendance) Chris Carter while Duchovny recorded it on his phone (check out our own Aaron Sagers' video of it here)

The topics discussed ranged from the actors not realizing how big the show would become, Dana Scully making science cool for girls, the fact that they've never read the "Season 10" comics, to the most awkward things they had to film, which involved climbing out of a slimy dirt hole and bees. When the panel host asked about their current projects ("Californication" for Duchovny and "Hannibal" for Anderson), Duchovny cut the moderator off and told him that the audience just wanted to talk about the "X-Files."

I want to believe in a third "X-Files" movie but the truth is not out there … yet. At one of the most anticipated panels of San Diego Comic-Con, stars Gillian Anderson, David Duchovny, creator Chris Carter, writers Vince Gilligan ("Breaking Bad") and Howard Gordon ("Homeland") and a gaggle of other show scribes gathered for TV Guide Magazine's 20th Anniversary reunion panel on Thursday.

With a spooky Mulder-appropriate entrance, Duchovny and Anderson entered the panel in darkness, shining flashlights around as they made their way to the rest of the awaiting panelists and moderator Michael Schneider from “TV Guide Magazine.” And yeah, fans screamed – a lot. Much like they screamed a lot when “The X-Files” theme song played or favorite episodes or characters were name checked or questions of future reunions (or movies) were asked. In fact, seeing the band back together was enough to keep ‘Files’ philes in a constant state of fan euphoria.

Chris Carter will 'executive produce' 'X-Files' comic

Remember that X-Files comic we reported on in January? Well, if you wanted to believe in it, now you have a little more to be excited about because creator Chris Carter will be executive producing the book as a Season 10 continuation of the show when it hits shelves this June.

As covered in Comic Book Resources, the news came out of Emerald City Comic Con that the IDW book would be written by Joe Harris (BPRD, Vampirella and even Creepy) with Michael Walsh handling the art. And Harris added that Carter would be "personally reading outlines and scripts, providing feedback and suggestions."

Harris also reveals the book opens some time after the (forgettable) 2008 I Want To Believe movie sequel. The initial story arc involves a "pretty deadly mystery that's connected to the now-shuttered X-Files division" and someone who wants to bump off all who were involved with it. The writer said he hopes to bring the vibe of the show -- which had its finale in 2002 into the modern era of WikiLeaks, drone warfare and the Patriot Act.

As for Mulder and Scully, yup, they're still together. But their relationship is complex, said Harris.

Personally, I think this is a great idea to keep the show alive for X-philes. A movie is possible; David Duchovny recently told Jay Leno that he'd be Mulder for the rest of his life, and that he, Carter and Gillian Anderson are "always on board" for a sequel 20th Century Fox wants it.

But the great part of a comic continuation of the series is that comic books aren't limited by budgets, actor's schedules or studio rewrites. And the writers working in comics often-times craft far better stories than some movie screenwriters. Let's face it, Ghostbusters is probably doing far more to preserve the Ghostbusters legacy than a third movie would.

So I'll be "tuning in" to read an X-Files Season 10 -- if for no other reason, just so I can see how a coupled-up Scully can put up with Fox's incessant sunflower seed and porn habit.
