'Helix' Recap: 'Mother'

BY DAWN FEAKES

Last week, Sister Amy put Operation: Immortality Part the First into action and Anne will finally fess up to Peter as to what nefarious things take place beneath the abbey. Team Sap continues to search and Mother is gone. Buckle up, it's going to be a doozy. Let's do this.

During the ritual burning of the dead, Jules approaches Amy for access to Mother, in return she'll have her immortality. But Jules, you just threatened Amy; that never ends well for anyone. Meanwhile, Team Sap stumbles around the woods while Kyle doesn't look so good. It takes Soren to suggest going to the bleeding tree which he's not entirely sure where it is but hey, at least it's a plan.

'Zombeavers' In Theaters and VOD Today

March 20 not only marks the first day of spring, there's something equally exciting happening on this fine Friday. Yes, boys and girls, today marks the day when Epic Pictures' Zombeavers is released in theaters and Video on Demand. I remember when the trailer for this film hit over a year ago and I got a little too excited. (insert eager beaver joke here)

The Jordan Rubin-directed film is described by IMDB as, "A fun weekend turns into madness and horror for a bunch of groupies looking for fun in a beaver infested swamp." Enough said?

The LA Times had decent things to say, "Zombeavers is the mutant love child of horror specialist Troma, early Peter Jackson, Japanese kaiju flicks and Canadian television sketch comedies — a film that disgusts, terrifies and tickles in equal measure with grotesque creatures and a sickening sense of humor." They go on to say, "Despite the deliberately schlocky effects and puppetry, other aspects of the filmmaking are surprisingly satisfactory." Well I know how I'm spending my Friday night!

Check out the trailers and then let us know if you plan on checking it out. We're sure the theater experience would be dam good but most of us will enjoy it in the privacy and safety of our own homes. You can click here for a list of theaters.

Fox's 'Sleepy Hollow' Renewed For Third Season

It looks like Fox has given an early renewal for it's supernatural drama series, Sleepy Hollow. Deadline is reporting that the show will be back for a third season despite some floundering in season two.  The Glades creator, Clifton Campbell will be serving as executive producer and will replace Mark Goffman as its new show runner.

According to Fox TV Group chairman Dana Walden, the network is striving to continue to impart some fun into their new shows, “We want to get back to something that feels a little bit more episodic in nature, it has become overly serialized. We are trying to return the fun to it a little bit.” This is evident in the network's renewal of the gritty series and fan-fav, Gotham.

Fox entertainment president David Madden lauds the Sleepy Hollow's new showrunner, “He is an excellent producer, and we can’t wait to see what this team has in store for Season Three."

So some fresh ideas are on the horizon for the modern-day adaptation of Washington Irving's short story. We'll keep you posted on any new developments and it's season three premiere date.

BY DAWN FEAKES

Last week on "Face Off," Kelly's Miss Intergalactic contestant was voted 'Most Likely to Be Eliminated' leaving Team Anthony with one artist remaining. Today will appeal to the narcissist in all of us so let's do this.

Ben's feeling the pressure of being the last on his team and having been in the bottom looks the previous challenge. Field trip time to the Herald Examiner building which has been used as a film set for superhero movies. The Spotlight Challenge this week is the transform a seemingly ordinary person into a superhero. That ordinary person? The artists themselves. Because Makenzie's not completely sadistic, they will have assistance on Application Day. Thanks?

'The Walking Dead' Most Talked About Scene: 'Spend'

(SPOILERS)

I'm not sure how they went about choosing just one "Most Talked About Scene" from this week's episode of The Walking Dead. I can think of at least five in "Spend." Maybe they chose it because we were graced with another Abrahamism with "Motherdick?" Or the fact that he stepped up and took action when the softy Alexandrians want to run and leave one of their own to be devoured by the swarm of walkers? Or the fact that they send faxes to Cleveland? What's in Cleveland?!

Check out the clip below and let us know what you considered to be the scene you can't get out of your head. I know I'm still all torn up about one particular moment. There's also a sneak peek at next's week's episode, "Try."

'Game of Thrones' Plus 'The Princess Bride' Equals Hilarious Mashup: 'Princess of Thrones'

Fencing, fighting, giants, torture, monsters, true love, revenge...are we talking about the Rob Reiner classic, The Princess Bride or the HBO series, Game of Thrones? Both? From Shawn Kohne and Todd Spence comes this fun little mashup that features some of the most brutal scenes from the fantasy series. So yeah, spoilers (and naughtiness), but it's worth it because it's damn funny.

Thrones returns to HBO on Sunday, April 12 but in the meantime, please to enjoy, "Princess of Thrones."

Last time, Sister Amy began her rule over a greatly diminished population (thanks, Brother Michael, now of the Wall of Matriarchal Sister-Mothers by way of a Hatakae-katana wielding Caleb), bargained with Sarah for immortality in exchange for the return of the baby while Alan and Kyle went hunting for the magic tree sap. Peter? Eh, who cares. Everyone caught up? If Slimer doesn't appear playing maudlin ballads, I'm going to be hella disappointed. Let's do this.

Mystery myco people enjoy some dinner until a fight breaks out over eyeballs as it's wont to do.  No easing into this episode. Clearly.

What the what?! It's Doreen! Well, an Alan-hallucination of her who's pretty much giving it to him straight that he doesn't know what he's doing or why or for whom. Atta girl! It's about time that someone took him to task even if that someone is his subconscious. Though Hatake started doing the same thing with Daniel and Jaye so I really hope he doesn't dig up her body for company. Just saying.

Last week, Jamie's horror villain couldn't scare up a winning look and was eliminated leaving Team Anthony with two, Team Rayce with two and Team Laura with four. Eight are left so get out the tin foil hats y'all; it's time to go where no one has gone before. Let's do this.

Stephanie is focused and playing to win after being in the bottom looks last week. As do all who survive the experience. Moving on. To the beach! We've got models and bowls so smoke if you got 'em? It's a Foundation Challenge based on the Hindu ceremony Holy Powder or festival of colors as winter fades to spring, With immunity on the line, the artists need to create a beauty make-up signifying spring but without their tools. We're getting hands-on so let's get down to finger-painting. The judges for this challenge will be the coaches but it's cool, they're coming in blind.

Winner - Stephanie. They liked the transition of blue to orange evoking the fading of winter to spring.

Newest 'Game of Thrones' Trailer Debuts at Apple Event

Lannister, Baratheon, Stark, Tyrell, they're all just spokes on a wheel. This one's on top and that one's on top and on and on it spins, crushing those on the ground. We're not going to stop the wheel. I'm going to break the wheel.  - Dragon mama, Dany

The second full trailer for the fifth season of Game of Thrones just debuted at that big, fancy Apple event. Why? It's where HBO officially announced its new HBO NOW streaming service. According to The Hollywood Reporter, "The service, called HBO Now, is coming April 12 for $14.99 a month, with the launch coinciding with the release of Game of Thrones Season five."

Stannis means business, Jon Snow utters, "Winter is Coming" and best of all, big fire-breathing dragons. Check it out and let us know what you think. In my humble opinion, it's kicks even more ass than the first trailer. You can also click here for the details on the first three episodes but watch the trailer first.

Last time Michael did some house cleaning, Sarah's un-pregnant and Anne joined Peter for some bonding time. Let's do this.

Peter, Kyle, and Anne try to get into the dining hall but they're too late; the purification has taken place. You know who also needs purifying? The CDC. Get on that Landry but first bring me Dr. Jordan who is giving Alan the silent treatment. Huh, being shut out isn't so great when you're on the receiving end of it, is it Alan? She's convinced their baby is still alive and somewhere? Erm, okay. Sure Sarah. We'll go with that.

Jules! We missed you last week; she's looking for Michael in the deserted and decrepit abbey. It's empty but for some strange banging. The chase is on!

You know what Michael needs after a purging? A purging of his own that Amy is ready to accept. And by 'ready to accept' I of course mean 'set him up to be locked away as there will be no planting ritual today or ever.' Sorry Dad. Adolescent fumbling for the win!

First Look at "Supergirl" Costume

Production begins this week for the "Supergirl" pilot from Warner Bros. Television and the first images of her costume have been revealed. Based on the DC Comics characters, the new CBS series stars Melissa Benoist as Kara Danvers/Kara Zor-El and Supergirl.

From the release:

The costume for Supergirl was designed by three-time Oscar® winner Colleen Atwood, who also designed the costumes for The Flash & Arrow and whose motion picture credits include Academy Awards® for her work on Alice in Wonderland, Memoirs of a Geisha and Chicago, as well as eight additional Oscar® nominations for films such as Into the Woods, Snow White and the Huntsman, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street and Sleepy Hollow, among others.

Colleen Atwood said, “In designing Supergirl, I wanted to embrace the past, but more importantly, thrust her into the street-style action hero of today.”

Born on the planet Krypton, Kara Zor-El escaped amid its destruction years ago. Since arriving on Earth, she’s been hiding the powers she shares with her famous cousin. But now at age 24, she decides to embrace her superhuman abilities and become the hero she was destined to be.

The Supergirl pilot is from executive producers/writers Greg Berlanti, Ali Adler and Andrew Kreisberg. Sarah Schechter is also executive producing, with Glen Winter directing.

Check out her new threads and let us know what you think. I'm digging the traditional look.

Sneak a Peek into Season 3 of 'Bates Motel'

If you haven't watched "Bates Motel" on A&E, stop reading right now and go watch it. You can easily marathon the first two seasons in a day. You don't need to sleep, trust me on this!

Alright, now that you're caught up, rejoice! After catching a rather grim and familiar glimpse of Norman Bates at the end of the second season, it has been revealed that viewers will be seeing even more of that sweet, terrifying madness we have all been waiting for.

Executive Producers, Carlton Cuse and Kerry Ehrin, give fans a little insight in a behind the scenes peek of their contemporary prequel to Robert Bloch's novel, "Psycho." It is revealed that his hallucinations and his reality, especially involving mother Norma (Vera Farmiga), are much more difficult for him to discern. This season Norman, brilliantly portrayed by Freddie Highmore, will creep ever closer to the knife-wielding, mother-loving "Psycho" that viewers have been expecting.

The "Bates Motel" re-opens March 9 at 9 p.m. ET on A&E; so check in, relax...take a shower.

'Sharknado 3' Slowed By Strike

More like "Oh Hell YES!"
Fans of the "Sharknado" franchise may have to wait just a bit longer for the third installment. According to Deadline, approximately 30-40 members of the production crew walked off of the job in search of a health and pension agreement, otherwise known as an IATSE contract.

The Asylum, producers of the franchise, had their Burbank-based offices picketed; however, they could not be reached for further comments on the situation. While the third film is non-union, it is worth noting that "Sharknado 2" was filmed under an IATSE (union) contract.

Stars Ian Ziering, Tara Reid, Ryan Newman, Claudia Sheperd, Jack Griffo and Cassie Scerbo return alongside director, Anthony C. Ferrante. Cameos will include, but will certainly not be limited to, Mark Cuban, Anne Coulter, Bo Derek, Jerry Springer, Chris Kirkpatrick and Chris Jericho.

Should this issue be resolved quickly, we can expect to see "Sharknado 3" tearing its way from D.C. to Florida on Syfy this July. We'll keep you posted with any news!

Nine artists remain and Team Rayce is down to only two. Dun dun dun! Field trip to Whisky a Gogo for their Spotlight Challenge - create a stylish and intelligent horror villain using futuristic fashions that would work in Clive Barker's world. Gee, I hope that no one forgets the 'intelligent' part of the challenge. Let's do this.

Design
Emily - Fallen angel
Jamie - Spiderwebish thing
Julian - Demon locked into an amulet
Kelly - Vain and obsessed with going under her own knife
Ben - Silver tutu
Logan - Snake charmer with immunity to venom
Stephanie - She's got nothing. Neither do I Steph, neither do I.
Darla - Post apocaolpytic demon
Adam - South American Queen Midas

Sculpting
There's a lot of activity but little direction. Maybe Mr. Westmore can save them....maybe not. Ben and Julian end up pleased with their direction, Stephanie breaks down. There's no crying in "Face Off!"

Cornell Researchers Use Statistics to Help Us Survive a Zombie Apocalypse

Yeah, stay rural. Nothing will hurt you in the country.
Anytime researchers can add the element of fun to disease modeling, it's a great thing, right? Of course when you throw in zombies, it gets even better. Thanks to being inspired by a statistical mechanics class (sounds delightful) and reading Max Brooks' World War Z, a group of researchers at New York's Cornell University decided to study how an actual zombie apocalypse would pan out in the US.

I'll break this all down with quotes and stuff but basically, you want to be in a rural area in order to survive the longest. Tell that to the folks in Night of the Living Dead.

According to PHYS.org, "During the 2015 American Physical Society March Meeting, on Thursday, March 5 in San Antonio, Texas, the group will describe their work modeling the statistical mechanics of zombies—those thankfully fictional 'undead' creatures with an appetite for human flesh." This isn't the first time zombies have been used in real situations: the CDC even has a "preparedness campaign" in place because the techniques are helpful in disasters. Wait, do these brain-y types know something we don't know?

Okay, so let's turn to Alex Alemi, a graduate student at Cornell University, for answers on why he and his gang decided to use zombies in the disease model. In a nutshell, we can wrap our brains around zombies...they're relatable. He goes on to state, "Modeling zombies takes you through a lot of the techniques used to model real diseases, albeit in a fun context." Zombies really are fun, agreed? Disease...not so much.

Last week we learned that Brother Michael is also an Immortal, Julia will sleep with just about anyone at the CDC and/or Ilaria and Peter continues to pay for his crimes against, well, everyone. Oh, and thanks to Landry, Alan has Sarah in a chokehold as there can be only one. Let's do this.

Alan's got a helluva time machine hangover and bloody fingers while back in 1601 Brother Michael D'artagnan fell in love with a peasant woman but her heart belonged to another. She cheated, he burned her and hatched his plan to render mortal men sterile. You know, that old story. He controls all the children, Ilaria solves the overpopulation issue without genocide, everyone wins.

Michael goes through the greenhouse looking for his butter knife. I don't know about you Michael but I usually keep those in the kitchen. With Agnes gone and Anne doing penance, Amy, it's your job to keep on top of things and find the infected. Chop chop there darling.

Neill Blomkamp and Sigourney Weaver Reveal Details About Next 'Alien' Film

We recently reported that Chappie director, Neill Blomkamp's persistence is resulting in a new, stand-alone Alien film but the only hints as to what may be heading our way, was through some concept art. Now we have more clues thanks to an exclusive Sky Movies interview with Blomkamp and Ripley herself, Sigourney Weaver.

The Blomkamp-directed, Ridley Scott-produced film will hopefully start production next year and since this is Blomkamp's next project, that goal will most likely be met. We can hope.

So what does he have in store for us? He reveals, “I want this film to feel like it is literally the genetic sibling of Aliens, so it’s Alien, Aliens and then this film.” He also stated, “It’s a Freudian nightmare. That element to me is what is so appealing; to put the audience on the edge of their seat the whole time in a traditional, monster-stalking-you, dark-corridor-way. I love that. And then when you mix in all of the deign elements and the life cycle of the alien, it’s a powder keg of creativity for me.”

So far, so good but how does Weaver feel? She mentions, “I would love to take Ripley out of sort of orbiting around in space and give a proper finish to what was such an excellent story. So when someone like Neill Blomkamp said, ‘Well, I’m interested in finishing the story,’ my little ears perked up… I think it’s a great series. It deserves a proper ending—I know the fans would love that.”

Would we? It should be interesting to see how this pans out and we'll keep you posted on any more luscious bites on this film. UPDATE: The video has been made private but the quotes above are the meat of the one and a half minute interview.

Lady Gaga Joins the Fifth Installment of 'American Horror Story'

Courtesy Miss Gaga's Twitter
After her amazing performance at this year's Oscar's, Lady Gaga is on fire...more than usual. Now it's been confirmed that she will be a regular cast member of the fifth series of FX's American Horror Story. The details about the season are lacking but she just took to Twitter and revealed the title.

In the creepy promo (click here) in which she urges us to "Make your reservation now," she rips off her black mask and whispers, "Hotel." Vague. Not as catchy as title such as "Asylum" or "Freak Show," but we'll have to wait and see. It probably won't be your standard Holiday Inn.

Recently, the CEO of FX Networks, John Landgraf revealed that season five will be "very different" than the previous installments and, "One of the things I love so much about that is that it can be radically, radically reinvented in terms of tone, setting, period, characters, cast. I think there's going to be an unusually large reinvention in between Book 4 and Book 5 relative to, say, between Book 3 [Coven] and 4 [Freak Show]."

I think the Mother Monster will make a splendidly creepy addition to the season. Reviews have been pretty mixed on "Freak Show" so maybe a new direction is just the thing AHS needs. Of course, it also needs Jessica Lange so they better get on that. Fingers and toes crossed but last season was supposedly her last. The series will return in October.

We'll keep you posted on any new developments.

Ten contestants remain and this week's challenge has them getting up close and personal with nature in all of its au naturel glory. Get your popcorn ready folks because it's about to be Unhappy Naked Time. Let's do this.

Rayce is concerned that his team has dropped the past two Spotlight Challenges but he's confident that his remaining team members are equal to the task. This is what's known as 'foreshadowing.'

Foundation Challenge
The contestants are to use a hat to inspire an original character of their own. Special guest judge for this challenge is Lois Burwell and she's looking for technique, skill, and a clean make-up. The prize for winning this challenge is immunity in the spotlight challenge. If they only knew exactly how much is on the line.

Logan - Ship's hat so he made a dead ship's captain. Yeah, I don't know either.
Rob - Top hat so naturally he went with an evil Pinocchio
Emily - She chose a chandelier so made and emperor's daughter
Kelly - Some sort of giant busy box so she did a Willy Wonka of the toy world
Jamie- evil Victorian
Darla - nomadic warrior

'Sleepy Hollow' Recap: 'Tempus Fugit'

BY DAWN FEAKES

Last week Katrina went full-on evil after the death of Henry so of course the only logical thing to do was head to the past and not save Ichabod in the first place but Abbie hitched a ride and ended up in colonial Sleepy Hollow which, given it was a good 200 years before the Civil Rights Act, well, let's just say it's not a happy match. I'm not ready to say good-bye to Crane, Abbie, Jenny or Irving yet (though Katrina can go hang for all I care.) (See what I did there?) Let's do this.

On the fateful battlefield, Crane is given notice that a strange woman has information for him that will change the course of the war. Sigh. Fine, what do you want? I know of your special mission and the Hessian. By pulling him off the battlefield, Crane missed his date with destiny and Katrina is distraught that Crane isn't in the hospital for her to kill. Ungrateful bastard. Dude, I'm trying to save your life and the world here. All right, the short version: you were supposed to die on the battlefield and end up in suspended animation until we meet 200 years in the future and now things are screwed up so we have to unscrew it. You know, no big deal.

BY DAWN FEAKES

When we left off, Jules was chasing Caleb who stole Hatake's sword, Michael killed Agnes because there is another Immortal and her whole life has been based on a lie, Alan was captured, broke free, and was captured again, Amy's in the evil honey business and Peter just dug himself a hole he'll never get out of. Oh, and what's going on with the Zombie Fungus Folks in the woods? Y'all ready? Let's do this.

Two someones are enjoying a roll in the hay and those someones are Julia and...Sergio? Anana, we hardly knew ye. Seriously, is there anyone left that she hasn't slept with because damn girl. Except she calls Alan's name, not Sergio's. Or Peter's. Huh, guess you weren't that great after all Peter. That sound you heard was the remainder of Peter's ego sailing over Niagra Falls. She's missed the board meeting because pleasure before business or some nonsense like that. It's a pretty big deal as Ilaria is tired of human mucking up the planet and so Operation Release the Narvik-C is on the table for launching. Don't think of it as genocide, think of it as more of a 'cleansing.' Julia's been working on a non-lethal version but that's 50 - 100 years off and Immortals certainly don't have time like that to wait. Fine, let's put it to a vote: all in favor of wiping out humanity say 'Aye.' And the 'Ayes' have it. Well this is certainly awkward.

New "Alien" Film Confirmed

Eleven contestants remain for a trip to Fantasyland and actor Doug Jones is in the house! Let's do this.

Anthony has been in the bottom looks twice in a row now and is hella nervous so gets the narrative edit. He doesn't want to go home and newsflash bro, no one does. But enough about him, it's time for a field trip...to the LA river which if we're being honest here looks less like a river and more like a storm drain. No matter, tis a famous Hollywood site but more importantly, has bridges. And what goes with bridges but trolls?

For their Spotlight Challenge, they are each to pick an iconic bridge and create the troll that lives beneath it. Oh, and make sure to include the city and cultural setting into the creation as well because Doug Jones will be coaching your models on how to act like trolls based on your design. So, you know, no pressure or anything. They get to work sketching and all I can think is that I really hope Zuko and Crater-face are not going to race down there again.

You guys, things go downhill quickly when you're no longer certain of whom your allies are. Let's do this.

A massive psychic blast rings through the town square possessing three people but it passes as quickly as it arrived. Ah, it was Henry. Enough said. But what is he doing this time? As if that's not enough, Jenny catches up with Crane and Abbie to let them know that Irving's been compromised. My, the news just keeps getting better and better but one crisis at a time please.

The victims were all in the same vicinity but were in total fugue state. Strange, it seemed like Serilda, Andy Brooks and Solomon Kent in that they all exhibited magical powers. And there is this bell here which was cast from the same one as in Philadelphia. The famous crack? Ichabod of course. But it was for a secret mission for General Washington so drink your drink. The bell causes people to display powers of witchcraft so Katrina would be the logical expert except not so much. She's been a bit distant recently, you know, doing blood magic to call Henry to her. The darkness released, he sees her as an ally, not an enemy. I killed Moloch to save you Mother and I have so much to tell you. Tea?

Last week on "Helix," the Immortals had a really bad day and Alan discovered that Peter has a secret, but very sexy, master *coughBalleseroscough*. On to the island of misfit humans. Let's do this.

Flashback to three months ago and Kyle was recruited to infiltrate Alan's former team and collect information about his whereabouts as he's the subject of a worldwide manhunt. The lesson here is that you can never trust a pretty boy...and to microchip your employees as part of their onboarding process. He's shady but finds Sarah and brings her to the infirmary. He and Peter are useless at surgery so it's Grandma Agnes to the rescue. Be on your way, boys. She's got this. Banished from the surgery, Peter and Kyle discuss staying in Camp Crazy or getting the hell outta Dodge but Kyle's all 'not without my bae' and I hate myself for actually typing that. Okay, fine, we stay but you go investigate the orchards and I'll tell Michael about the infected honey. Not sure who has the least desirable job here.

Ghostly Love Prevails in the Short Film, "Breathe"

"The longer you hold your breath, the more she'll do."

A recent Vimeo Staff Pick short is the perfect spooky tale for Valentine's Day. "Breathe" is a 2013 short directed by Toby Meakins that features only three actors...two are "friends" (Jack North and Josef Altin) and one is a lovely ghost (Orion Ben). It proves that love doesn't only exist on this plane, it can be pretty ugly, and it also may give paranormal investigators out there a new trick to try. I shan't divulge more since it's all twisty and stuff.

It's time for the "Face Off" Olympics. First event  - makeup relay race. Divided into teams of three, each artist gets 20 minutes with the model to design the makeup based on the claws but at each hand-off, a new prosthetic must be incorporated into the design. Oh, and they have to do the blind as there's no communication allowed among the team members. No big deal, only immunity in the Spotlight Challenge is at stake here. The special guest judge is Jill Wagner from 'Teen Wolf' and she's looking for detailing around the mouth.

Orange -  Ben/Darla/Emily - They get the Freddy Krueger-esque claws. Their design had some cool cracking but was somewhat lacking in originality.
Purple -  Anthony/Julian/Regina - They went with an Egyptian cat goddess which was gorgeous but the blending needed to be better.
Green -  Logan/Stephanie/Jamie  - Their claws were more mechanical and created a victim of a toy factory explosion.
Blue - Kelly/Adam/Rob  - Their claws were like ice and so created an intergalactic ice queen. The coloring was fantastic and the whole piece was very cohesive.

Last time Katrina the Struggle Witch continued to struggle, so hopefully she went to magic camp so we don't have to deal with her uselessness tonight. Let's do this.

Mere mortals from a local engineering company traipse through the tunnels which always means they are not long for this world. Finding a secret passage they investigate and discover a mysterious seal so of course they open it only to be attacked by Insane Clown Posse rejects. I hope they get overtime for this. Crane and Mills get called on the case where a pushy journalist who is also the brother of one of the missing men gets up in Abbie's grill. He's realized that Sleepy Hollow is the new Sunnydale and that an awful lot of people go missing here. Calvin, hon, that's really not the best way to get her to help you...or ask her for a date.

Checking out the tunnels they find the engineer's equipment and the mysterious seal complete with claw marks and symbols of witchcraft. Do you: A) proceed or B) regroup and call for back up? If you answered anything but 'A' then you've never actually watched this show before. Only one man could have designed this chamber and no, not Franklin. Thomas Jefferson! New name drop so drink your drink. The selfie culture is good for one thing as one of the dropped phones shows an albino ROUS dragging the men into the hole. Too bad he didn't get a chance to 'Instant Gram' it.

Last week, Sister Amy went completely bat-crap bonkers, Peter started working on his raging inferiority complex and Julia was the guest of honor at the most macabre dinner party of the past 30 years. Let's do this.

Bees! They pack quite a wallop on St. Germaine. Travis (who? Doesn't matter, he's a red shirt.) gets stung then attacks his sorta-girlfriend. I'm sure it had nothing to do with her carrying another man's child. Sharing everything gets really old after awhile. Meanwhile, Peter's hiding out on the roof getting secret text messages from 1997.

Julia survived the dinner party but remains in her wheelchair. I know fathers want their daughters to stay little forever but this is getting ridiculous. Alan wakes up in the field to find Peter standing over him offering 'help.' Yeah, Peter, we've seen your 'help.' Michael visits Kyle to commiserate on how the disease altered the kids but Kyle isn't drinking the Kool Aid. Kyle, if you don't take it down a notch, I'm pretty sure you'll wind up in the time machine again.

New Trailer Released For 'The Walking Dead'

AMC has just released a brief and probably final trailer for "The Walking Dead" before it returns this Sunday for what is being called the "Best Season Ever." That's even the name of this trailer! Weird.

Here's a little something about the remainder of season five and then you can do what you clicked here to see, the 30-second peek. You can also click here to watch the first two minutes of the mid-season premiere.

After the tragic events of the mid-season finale–as well as losing the possibility of a cure in Washington, DC–Rick Grimes’ band of survivors find themselves on the road, surviving day to day and trying to hold on to their shredded humanity and dwindling hope.

Stripped of security and without a direction for the future, some of the group near their breaking point, some find themselves hardened and cold and some just try to grasp on to what little they have left.

Though they are still breathing, the line between Rick’s group and the dead is starting to blur.

Could there be anything at this point that brings them back to life?

Lego Officially Announces 'Doctor Who' Set

Not a final product image, but fantastic nonetheless!
In recent years, especially with 2014's "The Lego Movie," the plastic blocks have been wildly popular. While I have personally never been a fan of them, nor understood the craze, as a Whovian, I may have to look into what the fuss has been about.

Lego recently announced the winning results of their Lego Ideas judging and will be producing their first ever "Doctor Who" set. The "Doctor Who and Companions" set will feature the TARDIS and various Doctors, along with companions, in minifigure Lego form. But what would any hero be without a villain or two to fight? Fear not, the set will also include some of the Doctors worst enemies; including Cybermen, Weeping Angels and, of course, the Daleks.

The set has just left the judging table, so as of now, final designs and a release date are unknown. Keep checking back here for all the latest Lego info!

It's Heeere! The First Official Trailer For 'Poltergeist'

These days, not a lot of nice things are said about remakes, reboots, reimaginings...whatever the cool kids are calling them. The resurrection of the 80s horror classic from Tobe Hooper is no exception but maybe once you check out the first trailer for producer Sam Raimi's vision of "Poltergeist," you'll give it a chance. Many say that 1984's "Ghostbusters" got them interested in the paranormal but for me, it was "Poltergeist." It scarred me for life and for that, I thank it profusely.

In this updated version directed by Gil Kenan, the Bowen family (lead by Sam Rockwell and Rosemarie DeWitt) is fighting against the supernatural forces that have invaded their home and taken their daughter. A charismatic TV ghost hunter (Jared Harris) from a show called "Haunted House Cleaners," is called in to remedy the infestation. Let's hope he isn't afraid of clowns.

Here's the official synopsis, thanks to 20th Century Fox...

Legendary filmmaker Sam Raimi and director Gil Kenan reimagine and contemporize the classic tale about a family whose suburban home is invaded by angry spirits. When the terrifying apparitions escalate their attacks and take the youngest daughter, the family must come together to rescue her.

Now clear your minds, watch the trailer, and let us know what you think. The PG-13 film will be in theaters (in 3D, if the mood should strike you) on July 24.

Two down, 13 to go and we've got Tim Burton-inspired whimsical madness tonight. Let's do this.

The contestants take a field trip to the Normandie Casino where they get their first individual spotlight challenge - bring the royals in the deck of playing cards to life in an outlandish and quirky way a la Tim Burton. Ah, the 'whimsy' challenge, where we learn who has a dictionary and who does not.

Design
Ben - Jack of Diamonds going for old and decrepit.
Stephanie - King of Diamonds
Darla - Jack of Hearts where he's jealous of the king as he's in love with the queen.
Adam - King of Clubs by way of the Rat Pack night clubs and I have visions of zoot suits dancing in my head. Do not fail me, Adam.
Kelly - Queen of Spades so a courtroom judge, naturally.
Daniel - Queen of Diamonds and cue immediate Kermit arms over beauty make-up.
Jamie - King of Spades and the David and Goliath theme but more Don Quixote. She was the last to choose her model and ended up with a female. This could be problematic.
Julian - Jack of Clubs  and giver of wisdom but in this form more of an adviser to the Underworld.
Anthony - King of Hearts, depressed that hte queen was killed in front of him.
Emily - Queen of Hearts where she will wear her heart on her sleeve...and in her hair.
Rob - Jack of Spades by way of Musketeer and this has a lot of potential for the challenge.
Logan - Queen of Clubs and by that we mean wine of the month.
Regina - Joker who will be more like a toy Janus.

Sigh. This is going to be a Katrina-centric episode, isn't it? Dammit.

Last week Hawley was guilt-tripped then betrayed by foster-mama and Crane and Abbie made far greater strides in fixing their relationship then Crane and Katrina have. Irving is free and all hell is about to break loose. Let's do this.

Opening in a museum or auction house or anything place old rarely leads to anything good and the streak continues. A dirty, hat-wearing stranger appears, steals a book, and cuts himself to do the blood magic force choke on the unlucky employees still around. Surely there are easier ways...like waiting until everyone's gone. Oh, evil. So impatient

It's House Hunters: Hellmouth as Crane is looking for a house that is not the catacombs. His attempts at playing it cool are sabotaged by the baked goods. Real estate agent - 1, Crane - 0. Though you might want to, you know, establish some credit or something. Anyways, there was a double murder at the auction house and a book was stolen! Not just any book, (of course) a grimoire that belonged to John Dee, noted Elizabethan scholar and student of the occult. Hm, whom to consult with on this? I hope she won't be too useless. The expert in question is currently changing flower petals and throwing rocks. No, not useless at all. Sigh.

The Ouija Files: Murch Goes to LA to Promote DVD/Blu-ray Release of 'Ouija'

BY BOB MURCH

HI FRIENDS! A few weeks ago I got an email from Joy Moh and Michael Gonzales from Think Jam, a digital marketing company that Universal Home Entertainment hired to organize the media release event for Ouija’s release on Blu-ray & DVD on Tuesday, February 3. They asked me if I wanted to be included and of course I said yes! A party and Ouija? They didn’t have to ask me twice.

No way around it – I’ve been lucky. I got to consult on the movie, was filmed by Universal for the extras on the Digital Download and Blu-ray/DVD combo pack, and was now going to be part of the release party. Does this stuff actually happen? Turns out the answer is YES.

Using my contacts at Hasbro, Winning Moves, and TCG Toys, three of the makers of Ouija today, each agreed to donate some of their Ouija boards as prizes for the event and we were even able to plan a hands on séance for the media as well.

Thank you Nicole, Philip, Joe, Michael, and Jacalyn - your boards made the event and gave everyone the chance to experience for themselves Ouija.

But, what would an amazing Ouija opportunity be without a little drama? By a little drama I mean a blizzard. I was scheduled to head out last Wednesday first thing in the morning but Mother Nature had other plans. New England and Boston in particular got slammed and buried with almost three feet of snow. The blizzard started Monday morning and went through Tuesday night. The mayor issued travel bans and the airport was closed. Things weren’t looking good for me to fly out Wednesday morning.

It's killing for sport.

The new trailer for "Jurassic World" just aired right after the Super Bowl coin toss and it was chock full of new footage and of course...dinosaurs. Oh and Chris Pratt training Raptors. Enjoy.

The park open on June 12.

BY DAWN FEAKES

Holy cow. This may have been the most messed-up episode of "Helix" ever and if you watched the first season, you know that's saying something but even more important: Hatake! Let's do this.

Landry gets a noisy hand-job from Slutty Cult Chick who actually has a name, Amy. And Amy, like most young people, thinks that the grown-ups are doing a balls-up job of running the place so it's clearly up to her and her army of latex gloves to get rid of the scientists who are threatening their way of cult life. See guys, this is why parental involvement from an early age is critical. Michael seems to realize that Amy might need to complete her path but since she's not a plant, eh, he'll get around to it.

It's...it's...could it really be? Hatake! With a dead Daniel and Julia's mother so he may not be playing with a full deck but  really, we don't care because Hatake with an axe to grind. Literally.

Full 'Game of Thrones' Season Five Trailer

The "Game of Thrones" IMAX debut of the last two episodes of season four yielded a pretty kick ass trailer for season five. Also, some generous theater-goers decided to share the exclusive trailer. This one comes thanks to Max Trailers.

There were tons of cool images including; Tyrion Lannister falling out of a box and eventually meeting up with Varys, Dany being her usual fierce self, Jon Snow looking well...snowy, Sand Snakes, Cersei being a bitch and Jaime looking over his dead daddy. Oh and Margaery's wedding to Tommen. Hopefully that ends well. Kidding. The trailer met with cheers from the fans so HBO seems to have pleased the masses with this one.

Kit Harington described the new season as lavish and based on this leaked trailer, he wasn't kidding.
"Game of Thrones" returns to HBO on Sunday, April 12 at 9 p.m. ET.
